What's with the Sesame Street names of the moderators?
Skafte replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Forum Information and Help
Perfectly normal Swedish. But I guess he didn't want you foreigners to understand. -
New Lego Exclusive 10217 Harry Potter Diagon Alley
Skafte replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Licensed
So, is this the official announcement of the set that we have been waiting for? -
I'm going to put a biker helmet on an ARF trooper. And then put it sideways on one of these to make it a SNOT BURP BARF trooper

A gray spaceman would be invisible in all the gray of the early Classic Space sets! I would personally pay good money for a green spaceman like yours, hewman!

Good work! I really want to copy that for my boy's room!

This might also be why LEGO doesn't want pics prematurely released. Your'e not buying anything now, because your'e saving for the unreleased sets. If no sets were ever seen in advance, we would first see them on S@H or other online stores and in the brick in toy stores. Nothing triggers "want" more than the option to take it home. NOW!

Two great reviews of two great sets! In the end, I decided to vote for the Camel, since the Baron is a bit too clumsy. I just love these early "UCS" sets, they have to rely on the design rather than all the newer pieces (not that the later UCS sets have bad designs, but the piece assortment was much lower ten years ago).

OK, here is a question about the VIP program: Do points count when the order is placed or when the money is drawn from your bank? I know that they won't register on your VIP account until the payment has been done, but with the upcoming double point October, this might mean quite a lot of points... I plan to order the UCS Obi-Wan's Starfighter that is released on Nov 1 along with a bunch of other stuff. Now, IF the 10215 can be ordered on the evening before (as the Imperial Shuttle was), would I then get double VIP points, or do they only count when the order is paid for? From S@H: Yes, it says "points are attributed to the account once payment is received", but it doesn't say if the points will be double if you order in October and pay in November...

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Skafte replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That depends what you mean by "legitimate minifigures". And are you talking about the old magnet figs with magnets in them or the newer that come with a magnet base? The magnet figs they sell now are of a slightly inferior quality if you look at transparency and colour issues, but printing is as good as on the official figs in sets, or even better! There is a small indentation on the inside of each arm (barely noticeable) that reveal that they are produced in China. Bricklink (which isn't a part of TLG) doesn't separate the two in their catalouge. The older magnet figs are not strictly LEGO minifigs, since you can't remove the torso from the legs and, well, there are magnets in them. -
...and the Death Star is quite a bit more known than the Geonosis Arena.

Oh dear. I need to check my sticker, I didn't look at it whilst building...

I knew I should have tried the alternate builds instead of just sorting the pieces into my spares collection. Great review with beautiful outdoor pics!

Thanks! It looks really good! It's not far from the real thing:

Great, a chance to win without building! I didn't have the time to make my vig for the explorer with a caveman, so this is good news! Thanks to all involved! -
That looks really good! I can't wait to see your complete layout, they never fail to impress!
-
Now, that is some serious MOCing! Great work with all the little details, there is so much going on! I especially like the structures on the walls, just plain brick walls look boring in dioramas like these. Keep it up!
-
Thanks for the inventory pic! If you have the time, could you please post a closeup of the printed shield? It looks great!

They have every right to have the pics removed! The pics belong to the company, and someone has violated their trust and shared the secret contents in the retailer's catalogue. It doesn't matter WHY they want them removed, they do, and that is that. I wouldn't mind being surprised by a new set in a toy store once in a while!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Skafte replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thankfully? On the box, the fisherman doesn't have a beard! Hey, there is "news" on series 4 as well! The bags will be orange, and they will be released in April. That is something... -
Great pics! 7929: Holy smokes, that is ten battle droids! Huge battlepack! 7915: It looks like the droid in the V-wing doesn't have anywhere to "sit". The dome behind the cockpit isn't printed and just sits on top of some other brick. Strange. 7930: No fig pics on the second page. Weird, since the figs is probably what will sell this set.

I can't wait for a review on this set! 556 tan cheese slopes! At first I thought you were going to ask for a pic of his girlfriend

Vote for your favourite Category A entries
Skafte replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My votes go to vigs that have captured the right feeling for their respective minifig, not using an abundance of bricks: 4) Dan Church 11) Diidy 25) Jippon Well played, everyone! -
