  1. This is really interesting - and I love the numbers from the precision scales! The most common complaint that I've heard is with the colours and opacity - that the Collectible Minifigs are more translucent than regular figs. Also that the body parts move more easily - you don't happen to have access to a digital torque meter, do you?
  2. Warning: Rant ahead I am wondering if we will ever see another Padme/Amidala minifig. I came across this topic from early 2007 (3½ years ago), complaining that there are no Padmes since 1999. In the pics and rumours of the first wave of 2011 she is also missing. She is one of the lead characters of the PT and is also (apparently) seen quite a lot in the CW, and I just can't see why she doesn't show up in LEGO form. Is she not interesting enough? I say she is (come on, it's Natalie Portman! Luke and Leia's mother! Queen and senator, skilled with a blaster, falling off gunships, jumping around an arena in a ripped dress! A bit wimpy in ep III, though.) Does LEGO just make male SW figs lately? No. (2008-2010: Ahsoka, Aayla, Assaj, Barriss, Leiax2, Mon Mothma, Juno Eclipse.) Is Natalie Portman forbidding it? This was a theory I had a while back, but of course she can't have that kind of influence on what merchandise is sold. Also, Padme's appearances in CW totally kills that one. Is Lucasarts not allowing LEGO to make another fig? If so, why? On the other hand, they have made wierd desicions in the past. Is LEGO just evil and mean? (my best guess so far.) Or is it just coincidental that they haven't yet released another set where she would fit? That there was no room in the few PT sets lately? That they concentrate on other parts of the CW? Anyway, I for one would like a Padme/Amidala fig in flesh. Soon. Rant over. You can go about your business.
  3. Great work This is a beautiful little chapel with loads of attention to detail! Of course the colourful windows draws most attention, but there are so many great things apart from them. I will have to borrow the cheese technique for my (bland) cathedral!
  4. Wow, I need one of those! I hope it fits in all acessories (guitars, wheels and such), but I guess it must. It's a bit colorful, but otherwise it wouldn't be LEGO...
  5. You bet! Might be from a squirrel or something!
  6. I'm sorry if this has come up before, but do you think (like I do) that all the pieces in the pillars will be the new round 2x2 bricks with grooves, and not just the whites? I say that they only had the white done for the prelims, but the sets will have the golden ones grooved as well!
  7. I just can't wait to get alot of those long bone weapons! As far as buying sets from the theme, I think no.
  8. Haha, that's funny! Parts from The Collectible Minifig series can be used for so many things, no matter what you think of (the preliminary pictures of) series 3!
  9. Really tough desicion, here. The afro and trophy got my votes, but of course most of them are useful!
  10. Has KimT seen the fisherman's beard? Finally a chance for another style!
  11. I think it looks great, PoP-type sets but without the extra license fees on the prices. I may buy some of these sets and not only parts from BL... I just hope that it's mostly printed parts and not stickers. The RAF emblems on the biplane are great!
  12. Great MOC with lots of attention to detail, such as the mirror, different types of appliances an especially I like that there is a weapons stand in the loo! Makes a good base for another Eddie Izzard routine, like his Death Star Canteen...
  13. Trust the prelims, never you shall... That was really funny, but I find it unlikely that the rebels would employ Gungan janitors!
  14. I so hope "Go Bananas" will have monkeys in it. Apart from my LEGO, I also have a collection of monkey-based boardgames. What a sweet combo!
  15. Extremely funny! The ion cannon is my favourite, totally over the top! I also really like the concept of a Stormie coming to a BBQ in shorts and helmet! The only thing I miss is a way for the poor fellow to move around apart from the tiny feet. A jet engine? Podracer engines? Steam powered propeller?
  16. A podracer?
  17. Those are great mods to the Slave! I really like your photo skills as well, the second pic is beautiful!
  18. Well, I'm not too disappointed... The fisherman's beard looks great, finaly a different one (except the huge dwarf ones). Elf is really good looking, as the samurai and a couple of others. Some look bland or uninspired, but we've had that in the previous two series as well. What I really like about this is all the new, detailed accessories we're getting! Boom box, baseball bat, tennis racket, fishing rod and so on. I wonder if the gorilla head has a regular head underneath it? And green background, eh? Time to build another pair of shelves for the collection...
  19. Then you won't like my next mod apart from the motorized wings: to make it completely studless, ie lowering the plates on top and covering them with 2x4 tiles... Since this is a model with low "stud count", why not take it to its extreme?
  20. Credit goes to cavegod, who said it in this topic on Page 390.
  21. I did a little mod of the set, as suggested in another thread a while back. I put in these instead of these and covered the sides with tiles: Unmodded With 2x4 tiles With 1x2 tiles Closeup of the 1x2 tiles I kind of like the smoother look. Next, I'll try to motorize the wings....
  22. Right, Bricklink is not official from LEGO, but it's the most widly used and complete database that I know of. I like to have the BL SW MF (ha!) list as my guideline! And, naturally, they have found the new Solo head in 6212: New Han Solo on BL. I will have to run home and see which parts I have extra of and order a new head...
  23. I have a complete 8957, missing box, in great condition (built once, not played with), perfect instructions, stickers on sheet. I'd happily trade it for three Spartans if you're OK with the box missing. Shipping could be a bit expensive, since I am in Sweden.
  24. I have them both, but they are really small and far from "complete" - too much air in them... I'm talking a Darth Maul Bust-type UCS! But with more Technic detail, obviously.
  25. This set is an absolute beauty, and the hull was one of the most enjoyable builds I've had in a long time! What I'm wondering is if anyone has tried to motorize the wings? I am NOT good at Technic constructions, but I am always impressed with what the designers come up with. Against better knowledge, I ordered a PF battery box and motor from BL yesterday to give it a shot. I'll probably need another motor. Oh, and since there will be PF in it, I'll try to light up the engines as well... If I succeed, against all odds, I'll try to share my experience with some kind of instruction.
