Thanks! Well, the answer to most questions is "It's not on the BL list of SW Minifigs". The answer to the rest of the questions is "It's on the BL list of SW Minifigs". Wampa/Tauntaun/Dewback (and Kaadu, Varactyl, Dianoga, and what have you) are listed as animals, not minifigs. But I do have them. I also think the Luke with/without backpack should be the same minifig, since it was only in one set. There would be MANY more if you took off some "body wear" from them. Again, there are variations that I think could be on the list (why only one of the Dwarf Spider Droids?) and some that should (e g old/new versions of astromech bodies).

What I would really like is a UCS R2-D2. Imagine about 30cm (a foot) high, with lots of fiddly hidden arms, propellers (perhaps even jets). I guess about 2500-3000 pieces, since it would take a lot of Technic pins and stuff for the details, but I would like the main build to be with normal bricks and plates. I've searched (not thoroughly) for a MOC, but drawn blanks. I might have to build one myself...

They come in other sizes and colours as well: They are great for displaying small and medium sized sets as well. When I've cleaned up a bit, I'll post pics of my attic!
-
They are not on Bricklink's list of SW minifigs. Please read my post(s) again!

The shelf is an IKEA "Expedit": The compartments are exactly 42 studs wide! The figs are put on 6-wide plates (one 6x10 and two 6x16) with four pillars of 2x4 bricks per level, all in black. Armless clone? No, there isn't, but the pic is quite bad...

Have you seen it live? I'm only through the first instruction booklet and it's already worth the high price! Much more solid build than most UCS sets (so far). It is huge!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Skafte replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The astromech body could after the change be used for other stuff with a technic axle through them, such as the MINI TIE Bomber you got as bonus in sets 4484-4487. -
Ding ding, we have a winner! (Well, another one, since Brickdoctor spotted Maul) Yes, I kept the "Death Star Trooper" when Bricklink decided it was the same fig as "Imperial Trooper". The small difference is, as you say, a circle on the belt buckle. The circle was there on the first production run of 10188 Death Star and the uncircled one was in the first 8038 Battle of Endor sets. Since, both have appeared in either set. But I didn't like the idea of removing a fig from my collection, so they're both there...

It's easily fixed for the newer bodies! Cut a groove in a technic half pin at a right angle to those already there. I used a hacksaw blade. If it doesn't fit, cut it a bit more. You'll want a white one, but they are a bit rare. Gray or even blue works well too. I am usually against mutilating LEGO, but the half pins come tirteen a dozen, since there are extras in every set. What we really need is a with a shorter axle. I guess you could cut one of those as well. The third leg was, as far as I know, first made known by master builder Pepa Quin. He only describes it with the old astromech body, though. -
No, the keycains are not in the collection - they are not on Bricklink's Minifig list! Some figs that only come in the magnet packs are, though, not the first kind with magnets in the figs, but the ones we get now on magnet bases. Some are different from the figs in sets. But Bricklink does not separate "normal" figs from the "cheap Chinese in magnet sets" figs, and neither do I. Well spotted, Brickdoctor! The second Darth Maul has black pupils in his yellow eyes, this is a significant difference compared to other, subtle variants. Now the second extra fig is black, there's a clue for you. And it's not a .

Thanks for all your comments! Not many of my friends who see the collection IRL know that much about it, so it's nice to get some initiated feedback! Some answers: No, the new spider droid isn't listed, and neither is a Han-sicle. I do have them, though... And no, I consider an army to consist of many of the same minifig, and this is just one of each. And frankly, I think this collection deserves a topic of its own I started collecting SW LEGO (but not specifically minifigs) around 2005, but it was only last spring (2009) that I started hunting down the older figs and buying CW poodoo sets for the figs and selling the ships... I had a then complete collection in December last year, but 2010 has been quite MF-heavy - as 2011 seems to be! No, both those droids are listed as minifigs at BL! Actually, they got listed yesterday, the same day I opened the boxes... Keep guessing!

Yesterday a big box arrived from S@H with Bane's Speeder, new AT-AT and UCS Imperial Shuttle. That completed my collection of SW minifigs! Sorry for the bad photo, I'll retake it when I figure out how to get better light in my LEGO attic. More pics at Flickr I know there is stuff that people might think should be in a complete SW fig collection, but I draw the line at Bricklink's list. I do have two more than BL, can you spot them? Now, the wait is on for the 2011 sets!

Wow, this looks great! I like how you made tulip looking flowers from control stick bases! The only bad thing is that the cave is very similar to the one I started on yesterday for the Minifig vig contest...

Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 2 Building Contest
Skafte replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Awesome! I must be able to get something together! -
This is my stand for the figs: I have since the pic was taken changed all the red pillars to gray. Just as BrickTango, I've colour coded the different series!

Here he is: SirDano

Great review of a good set! I really wanted the Wampa, and of course the new Luke (I collect all released SW figs). The cave was a fun little build, but I haven't gotten round to building the speeder yet - I figured I could make the cost better by selling bags 1&2 unopened. But then again it would be nice to have all the different speeders built as well...
-
I got this set for the minifigs and wasn't too impressed with the build itself. Some interesting techniques and good parts, but not enough for the price. I guess part of my bias against the set is that I don't like the overall look of the original ship. Great review!
-
Since I haven't seen you rejecting any applications, it feels safe to ask permission to join. I have a few non-reviewed sets, but not a huge amount of time on my hands. Thanks!

Nothing new, but why not: Part 1: - Part name: Tile 1 x 1, round with groove - Part description: Well, a stud without a stud. - Part usage: For finishing off round structures. Detailing - imagine a printed version for ventilations. Part 2: - Part name: Plate 2 x 2 with studs on two sides - Part description: A perfectly ordinary plate, but studs on both top and bottom - Part usage: For more advanced building - easily changing the direction of the studs. Part 3: - Part name: Plate, modified 1 x 4 with door rail - Part description: This half as wide - Part usage: Anywhere 1x8 is too long and 1x2 is too short. Part 4: - Part name: Plate, modified 1 x 1 with door rail - Part description: This half as wide - Part usage: Anywhere 1x2 is too wide. Would be great for greebling as well. Part 5: - Part name: Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3 Double Convex - Part description: A cheese corner - Part usage: For finishing off corners on small buildings or details. Would also be great for greebling. I also second the inverted cheese slope above. Part 6: - Part name: Cone 2 x 2 x 1 (or Brick, round 2 x 2 with one stud) - Part description: A cone 2 x 2 x 2 that has been sliced in half, with one stud on top, the rest of the top surface is smooth. A bit difficult to get it right, fitting in with the system, but the fez works as "Cone 1.17 x 1.17 x 2/3"... Perhaps the fez piece could fit on top of this? - Part usage: Head piece for R5 Astromechs, but also for architectural use.

Here is my other Epic scene that I didn't manage to post before the deadline: It depicts, of course, the scene in the Empire Strikes Back where the Millennium Falcon escapes the gigantic Space Slug. "This is no cave!" More pics at Flickr By the way, would the piece of black tape at the front of the MF count as a "custom sticker" as was allowed in the contest? I hoped it would, but it doesn't matter much now anyway...
-
I built a similarly scaled MF for the Epic Scene Contest (my late entry will be posted eventually). For that I used one of these: I think it worked pretty well. EDIT: I guess this would be even better:
-
Well, well. I didn't read the rules for the Epic Scene contest properly. I figured that the deadline was at midnight, but it was at 9PM. I noticed this when I sat down at a quarter past ten to post my entries... Anyway, here is my try at a small vignette: It depicts the scene in A New Hope where Luke and Uncle Owen buys droids from the Jawas. More pics at Flickr Since the MOC is torn apart, it's not much use in giving suggestions for improvement, but I wanted to post it anyway... I also have a Large entry to show, with a truly epic scene (not depicted in any of the legal entries). Pics will come to a website near you soonish.

Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes
Skafte replied to Superkalle's topic in Special LEGO Themes
OK, I got a full set, and here are all the extras: Microphone, trophy, maracca, binoculars, ski pole, handcuffs. My Flickr I just love the trophy, good thing that there are two with each karate kid, that will hopefully keep the BL price low... EDIT: Managed to link to my pic. -
Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes
Skafte replied to Superkalle's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for taking the pics and starting the thread, fellow Swedes! I saw it yesterday and went to my toy store to see if I was lucky. I was - they had three cases (and I'd say they looked just like series 1, I'm assuming 60 in each). I grabbed eight with different barcodes - didn't have time to find all and it was pretty crowded there. I'll venture to another place tonight where I completed my series 1 (ICA MAXI if other Swedes want to know. They're even 50 öre cheaper there...). I'll update this list with extra pieces (as a couple of members have asked for) when I have them all (hopefully tonight): No extras: Mime, Weightlifter, DJ, Surfer, Pharaoh, Whitch, Roman, Vampire, Lion tamer. With extras: Mexican (maracca), Skier (pole), Karate guy (trophy - YES!) I'm betting the cop has extra cuffs and the explorer binoculars of the ones I haven't got yet. Stupid LEGO for releasing great stuff like this that fits perfectly in my collecting disorder... EDIT: I got four more, without extras (see above). Hope to get the missing four today.
