Honestly I'm a bit burned out on shooters having played Halo Reach and Black Ops a lot recently. I'll probably hold off on both the new CoD and BF until I see them on sale somewhere. Do you guys think the online community will plummet drastically on Black Ops once MW3 comes out? I didn't play MW2 so I don't know if it was a dramatic drop-off when Blops came out or if people still played the old game for a few more months.

Xander was homesick; this was not as he had imagined it to be. He preferred the lush vegetation of the nearby forest than the large, damp halls of the building, and thus had taken it upon himself to meditate and train in the outskirts of town for several days. Sensing new quests might be posted soon, he made his way back to Heroica Hall. Always one to keep to himself unless spoken to, he asked the bartender for a glass of water and sat at an empty table near the corner of the room, observing the other visitors with hawk-like attention. He spotted a rather sad looking elf out of the corner of his eye but remained motionless, waiting for it to make the first move.

Oops, my bad. I'll have to change that once I get on a computer, it's a hassle changing the sig on a cellphone. In fact now that you mention it, he does.

Literally translated as “He walks among us, but is not one of us”, Xander Unth’or has never felt like he’s quite belonged. Raised by the peaceful half-beast/half-human barbaric clans of the Southeast from an early age, he lives in tune with nature –both respectful and wary of its awesome power. Although the tribe has treated him well, a night-vision has communicated that it is time to move on to find his true roots and destiny. Having traveled countless days, he finally arrives at an enormous man-made structure and reads a small paper attached to the message board near the entrance: “Heroica Hall Quest Sign-up Sheet: Heroes Needed!” “Could this be my final destination?” Xander wondered as he scribbled his name beside the quest titled Harvest Time and continued into the gigantic building.

Finally decided on my character, just putting together a small write-up (which will have a LOST easter egg for whoever watched that show). Unfortunately it's not gonna be a mage, so you're still an endangered species K-nut.
-
Is it one weapon per hand, or could I theoretically have 2 small daggers (one in each) that count as one? Also, can I add more weapons purely for cosmetic purposes.
-
I've never done something like this, but it sounds pretty fun! If I were to create a character, would I post the info in this thread or PM you the details Sandy?

Anything new on the possible jousting set? Since some of the new sets like the winter village and VW bus have been leaked I was hoping for some castle news.
-
Yes that was my mistake, that's what I get for hastily thinking one third is 30% off. Like you said it's a decent deal for three of the same set, but I personally would have bought three different sets making it a less attractive option.
-
And I hate to sour it even more ( ), but it's not even 30% since it isn't buy two get one free and people very rarely would ever buy 3 different sets with the exact same price (unless you're stocking up on a particular one). Sounds nice in theory but I'm gonna wait for a better deal.

Picked up the Blacksmith Attack from my local Toys R Us; they were selling it for $9.99, which I'm assuming is MSRP? I was also tempted to buy the Village Raid but decided to wait until there was a sale going on, which might be a bad move since I'm sure they'll realize they have the prices set at MSRP and raise them in the coming days/weeks.
-
It's probably just me but those weapons in the blacksmith set are rubbing me the wrong way. They have this non-LEGO look to them, something I can't put my finger on. I'll still definitely get the set, but I'll probably swap out the given weapons with some that I have stockpiled over the years.

Toys R Us (U.S. stores) has a 'buy one, get one 50% off' promotion this week for all sets excluding Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Mindstorm.
-
Aww man, seems I missed out on the Creator Shuttle's reduced price on Amazon. Bizarrely it's now priced at $125, isn't that above MSRP?

This is a fun topic, let me add another one. Wistful Window-Shopper: Look but don't touch. Buying Habits: What buying habits? You're lucky to even make a habit out of eating regularly. Sorting Method: What little pieces you have are sorted by color, stored in all types of mismatching containers. Building Space: The largest floor space the cheapest rent can buy. Philosophy: "When I'm rich and famous I'll be able to afford all the sets I want!"

Like others, this was one of the sets I dreamed of having when I was younger. Fortunately I picked up a used set on the cheap later from ebay, so it worked out in the end. Great review of a nostalgic set, ZO6, still holds up nicely after all these years; unlike others I don't mind large molded baseplates if used like this.

That's called cheating the system, and something you shouldn't do. I'm not sure what specific store policies are, but sometimes it's nice to have some integrity and not do what you just mentioned.

Picked up an Advent Calendar for my niece the other day, though it looks like I'm gonna have to mail it to her since I won't be able to see her until the 18th or so of December. Hope the shipping cost is reasonable...

Thanks guys! I don't have time to get on here as much as I used to (thanks grad school ), but I do enjoy stopping by once in a while and reading up on some of the threads. The last week was super busy for me in terms of school work, and I had a late night flight to catch on Friday night. Didn't get that much for my birthday, and unfortunately the money I did get can't go to LEGO at the moment; however, I'll always keep up to date on what's going on!

Physics of the Space Environment Of course my Professor wrote the textbook; not the easiest class, wouldn't recommend taking Space Physics for anyone interested.

30% off all(?) LEGO sets at US Toys R Us stores this week; the ad is a bit nebulous with what is included, though to me it seemed like most of the sets would be discounted. You also get a retro minifig as part of the Bricktober event.

Got it, thanks. Let me know if you want my HG/SS friend code too.

I'm admittedly new to this Steam thing, how do I accept your request? (I don't even see it right now haha)

Great thread, recalls some awesome childhood memories. I skipped the whole Duplo line as a kid; somebody gave me my first system set as a birthday present (can't remember the exact year), and I've been hooked ever since! It was #1785 - Crater Critters:
