Trading Collectable Minifigs Series 1, 2 and 3
posades replied to danim's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
PM me if any of you guys have a spare Forestman or Tribal Hunter (rather have the Forestman though). I want to keep the trade/sale in the US if possible, I have other minifigs for trade as well besides just the collectible ones. -
Wanted- Dark Green Alligator / Head ( upper mouth)
posades replied to Legononymous's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Might be better just to Bricklink it with a larger order, since the shipping alone for just this piece might be more than it's worth by itself. -
Mine's the same as my Eurobricks username, and as for games I have only free ones. Moonbase Alpha, Portal, and Alien Swarm.

An LG cu515, me no like. I'm waiting for this one to die on me, unfortunately it doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon. I got this one way back when flip phones were still cool. I'll probably just keep it until the new Windows Phone 7's come out, so hopefully I can upgrade to the 21st century in the near future.

You shouldn't settle on a car you kind-of-like; I almost did that, but I'm really glad I held out until I found the perfect car I wanted (body style, color, etc.). I'm not one to tell someone what to do, so go with what you most want (just be sure to bring someone who is good at haggling ). Thanks Big Cam! It's exactly what I had in mind for my dream car. Once the factory warranty is up I may dabble in tweaking the engine and other parts of the car a bit (though admittedly I'm a novice when it comes to things like that). If there's one thing I would change, it would be the rims: I'd like to replace them with some darker ones with a few more spokes, though it's not high on the priority list since rims cost a pretty penny.

This is true from my personal experience with buying my newest car. They (the banks) have gotten really strict; my dad had a credit score of 825, but since he already had two loans open for his cars, they didn't want to give him a good rate. When I co-signed (a credit score of 775), they were still reluctant. We also got similar promotions in the mail from the Nissan dealer we bought my Sentra from 5 years ago, with their "top" trade value being $6000. We turned around and asked Carmax for a cash appraisal, and they wanted to give us $7000 on the spot. As far as trade-ins go, Carmax may be your best bet (don't buy from them though!); what we ended up doing was trading in ours to the wholesale dealer we bought the BMW from for $6500 since the taxes saved from trading in meant we basically broke even.

Well right now I'm using middle grade Chevron gas, and I haven't noticed any difference (albeit this is my first time filling up). It's not like I take it to the track or anything, so I'm assuming this would be good enough for my situation. Does anyone know if this is bad?

Thought I'd revive this old thread. Earlier I was considering buying a 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, but the more I researched and thought about it, the more I began to wonder if spending that much money was really worth it for a Hyundai. In the end I didn't go the Genesis route, and instead bought this: It's a 2007 BMW 328i Coupe. For cheaper than the Hyundai ($20k as opposed to $25k), I was able to get a car I dreamed of getting but never really thought possible. Sure it's not perfect inside (that's what happens when you buy used I guess), but I thought it was still a good deal considering it has 37k miles and with the factory warranty still intact. Haven't gotten around to driving it much, but believe me I will. What do you guys think?

I have the game too, though I haven't played recently since I'm in the process of getting a new 360. I'm hoping my new car I got in real life (2007 BMW 328i coupe) is in it, although if it isn't I'll continue using the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe I was racing with for the first season. One thing I don't like about it is sometimes they force you to use another car since it doesn't classify in the race or something, so I'll have to basically use a stock car from my garage that I'm not used to driving. Oh well, I guess that's good in that it forces you to branch out some.

What, you don't think a kung-fu kick to the chest is playing well? Kidding aside, I'm glad Spain won it as well (gotta root for the motherland and all that ). The game wasn't pretty (especially compared to the great 3rd place game), but I was still emotionally invested till the end. Ah well, now we gotta wait four more years.

Cheating would be doing the handball and getting away with it. What Saurez did was against the rules, sure, but he was punished for it and the game went on. I never said what he did was the right thing, all I was implying was that what happened during that part of the game was perfectly legitimate. Should we be up in arms everytime someone tackles another player from behind or makes an injury seem more serious than it is? Those aren't the "right" things to do either but I don't see people calling players cheats and pathetic because of it. Like I said before, if this would have happened earlier in the game or with a different infraction, no one would have thought twice about it. As for a prediction for the final, I want to see the Netherlands and Spain go through. Most of that has to do with the fact none of them have won a World Cup before, so it would be nice to see someone win it for the first time.

What's the big problem? He committed a foul, got justly penalized for it with a red card and Ghana was given a chance to score a goal - but they failed to. I'm not seeing why he is being cast in such a poor light, if this happened in the 50th minute instead of when it did no one would have though anything about it; or if he had slide tackled someone in the box instead of what he did again no one would have thought twice about it.

*puts money on Argentina* If I had to guess the winners of the quarterfinals, they would be these: Uruguay Argentina Netherlands Spain Now let's see how badly I jinx these teams.

Fair enough point with Walmart and others possibly not having interest in these (which is looking like a bad decision now ). I've only collected one other "collectible item" besides LEGO, and that is trading cards. The difference here is that even though a particular card set might be limited edition, they still have plenty of supply while the run is still active. I guess my concept of limited edition is more in line with time instead of quantity, which is what LEGO should have done in my opinion. And I'm not buying that LEGO was aware that these would be scarce and difficult to find so soon; why even market trading amongst friends when there is no supply to trade? If what others have said are true, you would think TLG would have tried to produce as many of these guys as possible to reach the largest audience possible and "bridge" their way to buying larger sets. -

What do you mean? Obviously LEGO is supplying the retailers like TRU, right? I don't think they would be holding on the boxes in the back or something, though I guess that is a possibility. Besides, my local Lego Store is also sold out of them, which leads me to believe they were caught off guard by the popularity of these. And I agree, testing out the release of something like this in a specific region would have been a much better idea in my opinion; surely they would have seen the demand they had on their hands and therefore produced more to meet that demand until at least the next series. -

I don't think the point here is whether or not this whole fiasco is going to scar someone for life, it's the fact that TLG didn't think it through and simply produce enough to have a healthy stock of them on shelves for a month or so. To me marketing these figs as something to trade among friends or "collecting them all" seems like false advertising when it's virtually impossible to find them in stores let alone buy them on an impulse. Compounded by the fact they are already sold out not even a month after release, I find it hard to believe TLG won't have some angry parents calling once they find out they won't be able to buy the fig a child wants without paying $10 on a secondary market because LEGO simply didn't plan accordingly. And trust me, kids and subsequently parents find out. My niece (6) knew about these before I even told her about them; from ads in the catalog to ads in the store, there was no shortage of LEGO hyping these (well, no shortage besides the actual product). -

Well this is only my personal experience, but I was in Toys R Us yesterday making my daily rounds and there was a child, maybe 8 or 9, looking for the figs. He seemed genuinely down (borderline crying) that there were none in stock (only an empty box), and his parents were trying to make him feel better by saying they would restock them in a couple days. I wanted to interject with something about how production had ended with these figs, but I didn't have the heart. And still none to report at Walmart or Target, I'm beginning to have some doubts as to whether they were ever really there too. I asked an employee as well as a manager at both locations and none of them knew what I was talking about. -

Where are they located in Walmart and Target? Because I've checked my 5 local Walmarts and 3 local Targets everyday for the past two weeks and have yet to find anything. -
They went out in the same round, what are you talking about. At least we went out honorably unlike some other teams... Well now that the US, South Korea and England are out, I don't really have a team to root for. I've always liked Spain, but they seem to be the popular pick, so I may go with Uruguay since they were good back in the day. (like 60 years ago )
-
Haha are you for real? It was one paper, and they were just pointing out the fact that a draw felt like a win to us since we were such an underdog. If anything you should be proud of the reverence we have for your team. And you can call us cocky all you want, it still doesn't change the fact that I'm rooting for you guys tomorrow.
-
And at the end of the day the US becomes the predominant world power? Sounds good to me!
-
Were you guys watching the same game, Algeria looked like they were playing for the tie. As far as effort goes, the US had a ton more shots, not sure where all this hate is coming from. If we're talking about what is deserved, how about the two goals that were disallowed?

I've never heard of Five Below before, and when I tried to find a store on their website there wasn't one within 100 miles of me. I should be going to Target today, however, so I'll be on the lookout there. -
Didn't LEGO itself have a display case for sale a while back? I can't remember the exact dimensions, but I think it may have held 15 figs, which is unfortunate. If they're still selling those and it holds 16, I may opt for that.

Anyone confirm to have seen these figs elsewhere in the US besides TRU? I bought 3 of them this morning, but the price increase prevented me from getting anymore. It would be nice if Walmart or some other company had them on sale for the MSRP.
