OOC: Just checking to make sure I have the logistics down right; since I'm at the southeast wall, will it take me 2 rounds to attack the elves? Xander notices commotion coming from the west wall; gripping the handle on his club and clenching his teeth, he realizes the battle has begun. Turning to leave towards the west wall, he hears a voice call out to him from the far end of the castle. Finnegan arrives out of breath, relaying a message from Althior. Nodding his head while tacitly acknowledging the contents of the message to Finnegan, Xander races to the west wall to help his fellow heroes in battle. -

"I will do my best to protect the southeast wall, and if anyone is in danger of falling to the elves do not be afraid to call out for help and I will try to lend assistance." -

OOC: I'm not really seeing the point of the catapult if it requires two heroes to operate. Can the heroes still attack at the same time? Or is the catapult a way for non-ranged heroes to attack from a distance? "I am also willing to operate the catapult with Isabella, unless there are any objections from someone." -

OOC: So do we need someone to man the catapult, or does it operate on its own since it's its own "character"? "I feel as if the pikemen would be more useful if they are grouped together, as others have suggested. I am willing to operate the catapult, or if that is unnecessary then I can fill in a spot on the wall that is currently undefended." -

"We can use the other half of the barrel that we attached to hold the ammunition of the catapult if it's possible." -

"Depending on how far we want the catapult to throw its projectiles, I believe simple man power could work. Someone with considerable strength could pull a rope attached to the far end of the catapult that is run under the frame, causing it to come down. However this might limit the amount of ammunition that can be loaded in the barrel." -

"I will gladly take the tree up to where we are assembling the catapult, however I do not have the means to cut one down." -
Been listening to Swedish House Mafia's Antidote lately, gets me pumped when I'm working out.

Xander turns to Alex, crude drawing in hand: "I believe what we have built so far of the catapult is the main frame," Xander explains as he points to the first diagram. "That leaves the beam that lies parallel to the A-frames and perpendicular to the main beam, with which we will attach the half barrel to," Xander continues, drawing the piece in question as he speaks. OOC: Is this what we had in mind for the catapult? I'm a little confused as to what we're building. -
Merry Christmas everyone! Although I didn't get any LEGO sets, I did give my niece some which is the next best thing. Hope you guys have a great holiday, it's been a lot of fun these past few months and can't wait for the future!

Xander stands both A-frames upright, locking them into place in the siege weapon holder. Heaving the beam above his head, he carefully places it between the frames, making sure everything is sturdy. -
I'm finally back from college, so expect an updated pic of Xander with his Pongcanis gear soon. (although he does look pretty comical with the troll club, I didn't have the caveman one)

Xander follows a few paces behind William, carrying the long beam on his broad shoulder. -

Xander makes his way over to Isabella, handing over his Fire Bomb. He then heads upstairs to aid William in the building of the siege weapon. -

"It seems we should think carefully as to what our final preparations should be, since three of our fellow quest mates are now exhausted. Setting up the siege weapon should be a top priority, correct?" -

"It seems like building a large siege weapon might be harder than we imagined. Does anyone think we could possibly capture a siege weapon from the elves and bring it back to the castle? If we manage to ambush a small group of elves, we might succeed." -

OOC: Sorry guys, gonna be a busy few days for me; I'll only be able to get on very sporadically from here till after Christmas. Next in line can make decisions and all that. Xander was truly impressed by the initiative shown by his fellow quest mates; he knew now that they could succeed in the face of such adversity. "The trap with the fire bombs sounds like a competent idea, I am willing to volunteer my bomb if it is needed." Xander continued, "Arasmyth, I will gladly drive the stakes into the ground with my hammer when you are ready -- just say the word." With talking out of the way, Xander hurries over to Isabella and offers to help build the siege weapon. -
I have no daughter (or son for that matter), but I'm speaking on behalf of my niece who is 7. I got her hooked on LEGO from an early age, first with DUPLO and then regular sets. While I did buy her the pink tub of LEGO, I also got her various city sets and generic brick sets. I don't see why girls have to be marketed specifically to with a different product -- what they have now can work if they choose to include more gender neutral scenarios in some of their themes like city. In fact, her favorite set was the Safari birck building set (even after me showing her pictures of the new Friends line).

OOC: Umm, pickaxe? I have a hammer if that is what you meant. "It might be best to split up to investigate the rest of the fort and then report our findings to the group once we reunite. We have two people going to the kitchen, and I can accompany William to the stables." -

"Seeing as how these stones are heavy, might it be best for each of the group members to carry one? And does anyone have any ideas what the stones could be filled with?" -

"The armory sounds like a reasonable place to begin. It would be wise to search the entire fort before we start to strategize, it might lead to clues on how we should go about defending it. And a catapult would definitely be helpful in a situation like this -- do we have the necessary skills and tools to build one?" -

Xander arrived at the designated meeting place to find his other companions already there and in conversation with a middle aged man. Not wanting to interrupt, he began to listen intently; there was nothing at the moment that bothered him, so he found no need to speak. OOC: My stats look good.
