Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 10
Sir Dillon replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I admit I'm a little grumpy about the behaviour last night, by both us townsfolk and you visitors. You were rude to us, but I think we overreacted. Things are bad enough without grudges going around, so I apologize on the behalf of myself the "townies". I'll do my best to help out and try to convince the other citizens to do the same. -
Very cool display! It's filled with great creations, and I am particularly impressed by the way it all fits together. Did you map out everything's placements before hand, or just bring a bunch of spare bricks and fit it together on the spot? By the way, please try not to post images larger than 800 x 600. The images in your latest post were all pretty large, so I changed them to thumbnails.

There was already a thread on this, so I've merged the two.

Here's a few nice ones I found on Brickshelf by searching "tent". None are built by me.

... and I was doing so well. Good luck getting the remaining spies everyone. If you've been paying attention it shouldn't be much of a problem, but I guess that hasn't stopped us before. Thanks Shadows for continuing the game, I enjoyed it. -
Fantastic scene. You've really captured the gritty spirit of the street. I find the billboard and the graffiti particularly neat, and the angles of the street are impressive.

We make a handsome group! Thanks Stash!

Very cool diorama with lots of nice details! I particularly like the overpass and the ramshackle building with the troll flag.

Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 9B
Sir Dillon replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The gun wasn't in the safe, but considering we went into the office right after we opened the safe, you're probably right about the murder occurring before that. The only other option I can think of is if someone slipped it into the drawer while pretending to search.... I don't think that's too likely though. The office is not owned by any one person, and as far as I know, anyone who needs to see the files has access to it. -
The structure looks great, with a good balance of strength and ornamental detail. I agree with Teddy about the curved walls: usually I don't care for them, but you've blended them into the rest of the creation nicely. The tudor building is well made, I like the spiky corners and the protruding beams. I think the turn table bases look out of place and tacked on though. The main thing I don't care for is the staircase. You probably don't have enough room to make it parallel to the wall, but the combination of thin wooden steps and the solid stone wall coming straight out of the wall like that doesn't look good, in my opinion. I also don't think there is enough dark grey in the towers compared to the surrounding walls, but that's just getting picky. Overall, this is a very cool creation filled with lots of fun details. Great work.

This is looking very good. I like the cutout approach you're taking. The area where the rock meets the tower base looks better. If you want more variation, I suggest replacing some of the lower white bricks with dark grey plates and bricks. The interiors are nice. I think the library should be less clean and open. Adding another table, shelf, desk or the like could help with that. I like the inclusion of the red arch in the storage room, and I think the room needs some more stuff other than barrels and boxes. One easy solution would be to add some minifigure accessories throughout. Keep up the nice work!

Teddy is correct, right now the conversations are just being repeated. Merging would be confusing because both threads are multiple pages and were active at the same time, so I'm locking this one. Please continue the discussion [here].

Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 9B
Sir Dillon replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Whoever killed her must be trying to send us a sign. If they were trying to hide the body, the coal tender is one of the worst places. The train has been sitting there for a couple days now, right? Could someone have sneaked back during the night and killed her? If the blood is still wet, then she must have died recently. Maybe she was hiding on the train, someone came back in the night, saw the lady and shot her. -
Aha, nice! The combination of brown and tan looks very good here.

Nice article. It didn't really contain anything I didn't already know, but it was still an interesting read. It seems to me in some cases your personal views may have been mixed with fact. For example, you said Knights Kingdom II was a failure. Did you find a report on the sales or are you just going by opinions? While I don't know for sure it wasn't a failure, just because most of the members of this and other sites didn't like the theme doesn't mean it sold poorly. The line lasted for three years, which is longer than many others did. Do you have an article or something about AFOLs helping create the current line? I've heard rumours about fans' help with the Medieval Market set, but besides that can't remember anything. Did fans help create the Dwarves' Mine?

While you were away I read the first three books in the series, so now I know what this is supposed to be. How much are you planning to build? I think no matter how big you make this, it will still be smaller than the tower is described. What you have so far looks good though. One suggestion would be to add some variation in the front where the rock meets the building. Right now those areas look too squared off to me. [edit] It seems you have already redone the front. I look forward to your updated pictures then.

Looks good! I like the way the horn looks on the wolverine-type helmet. I'm going to merge this into the Post Your Army thread.

Galactic Paranoia Day 9: Falling Death

I don't think you would seriously consider voting against Al for anything but a cover, but if you were actually unsure, what type of conformation would you want? I was there at the crime scene, but besides my word I don't there is anything else to have. Are you expecting Commander Blazer and Admiral Blaire to come out and tell you what to do? -

At least for me, it wasn't your choice of Drake, but that I watched you and found you to be a spy. I would be accusing you no matter who you killed. Even if you cannot use it every night your "vigilante" action still counts as a night action, in my opinion. I don't think there's much more either of us can say without repeating ourselves, so I guess we have to wait for the others to show up. I hope they can see what I do. -

It's easy to know who the spies are when you yourself are one. We haven't been wise in our voting, but you've gone along with it in almost all the cases. I'd like to think it's not too late to turn our bad streak around by killing you, then Quincy. Even if you are telling the truth about killing off spies with your vigilante action, you were only converted two nights ago. I don't know whether you gained this ability by becoming a spy or had it all along, but it makes no difference. A low blow to the man's honour! We can get rid of Eddie later if we need to, but at the moment you are far more dangerous. -
Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 9A

I don't trust George, but in his (and the rest of the townsfolk) defense, I didn't know about this place until you all found out about it. Meaning in my case at least, Alex didn't give me information ahead of time, and I'm guessing that was how it was for George too. -

If we killed off the spies' assassin today it could work. -
Galactic Paranoia Day 9: Falling Death

What were you doing all those other nights? Did you simply choose not to use your action? As far as avenging Razak, even if you aren't a spy, Quincy is, and I think we should go with the positive before any vengeance. I believe if we guess wrong today, we might loose. -

Dropping by to visit in the middle of the night seems a little odd, but you're right about Quincy. I'm sure he is a mafia, as he is the only one left from the group of four besides me. I guess I'm going more strongly for Al because I watched him kill Drake, and it has left me shocked and a little mad. I would be fine with voting for either of them today. -
Thanks for keeping this thread updated guys. I'm planning on attending this as my first full event, and am pretty excited. When is a good time to arrive? Would mid-morning on Friday be adequate, or is it better to come Thursday night?
