  1. I seen a link at Technicbricks to a German site where a guy posted a bunch of pictures while he was building it. I think the same link is here.
  2. What I would like to know is where in the heck he is getting all of these 19 sized black flexible axles.
  3. Is this going to be a studded, studless, or a mixture of both? And what parts are you planning on modifying? Like making your own suspension parts?
  4. After seeing the build process for the Crawler, I must admit that I am a little less excited now. Mainly because I guess I was expecting it to be a little more advanced.
  5. Didn't you already do a Challenger or was that a Charger? I thought that I had seen it in the link on crowkiller's friend's wall to one of your sites. Do you think it's possible for you to scale down any of your ideas to use with regular Lego wheels or do you feel that your suspension modules are as small as they can go, thus requiring the non Lego wheels?
  6. So this released even earlier than the unimog did last year? Does anyone remember when the 8110 was released last year after Germany got the first wave?
  7. MOCPAGES I know most of you here are not familiar with the N.F.L. as it is more popular over here in the U.S.
  8. Why do people make threads like these? Just post your model and cut out all of the drama surrounding it.
  9. This is very nice! I think you have a cracked bushing in your engine.
  10. Wow the master nicjasno posting at eurobricks! Thank you so much for the video. I am most definitely going to change up the steering on my 'mog like this. Looks like it works much better.
  11. I was just reviewing Paul's recent auction that he did for charity and the only copyright mark that I see is for the Make A Wish Logo. I also don't see any on the instructions that he is currently selling there. I can only assume that you are referring to someone else?
  12. Who is boycotting anything? So far I didn't see one person claim that they were not planning on purchasing this set because it may or may have not been based off of something else. And they are not going to cancel a set because a few people at eurobricks were asking questions about it's origin.
  13. As one of the morons, I would like to offer my apology to the designer for any of my opinions that may have offended him. As I have stated numerous times, he did an excellent job on this and I can't wait for it to be released. But even he has to look at these 2 models and see the obvious resemblances that are the reason that everyone is passing judgement. Now here is another question, if any of you were the designer of the older 2006 model and you happened to click on Lego Shop at Home and seen this new Haunted House, what would your opinion be?
  14. In fact if the guy who built the older House displayed it at a show this fall after the release of the 10228, most spectators would probably think that he/she just got their ideas from the 10228 and copied it. I agree. I am excited for this set and can't wait to get it. I am done with the petty arguments about this. Like I said before, I think it is very well done.
  15. That's fine if you come out and say that you are using whomever's techniques, but building something very similar to someone else and claiming that you never saw their model is something different. It is pretty obvious that the 10228 is completely different from the older one in the majority of the build technique, but from a moderate distance, you probably would think they were the same thing.
  16. No he most certainly does not sound stupid in the least. I also don't think anything was done on purpose. This isn't an exact replica by any means at all and I wouldn't consider it "stealing someone's design" but there are way to many similarities for this to all be done by pure coincidence.
  17. There is no witch hunt. In fact the only people that I see using the words "Stolen", "Copied", or "Ripped Off" are the ones defending the integrity of the the originality of the 10228. To me the 10228 looks to be to be a very well done build using some inspiration from the 2005/2006 model from brickshlef and nothing more. It is obviously built completely different other than the distinct similarities. It's no secret that most people(especially an official designer) do not want to hear that some of their creation's ideas are borrowed from someone else, ever if they did in fact knowingly use these ideas. This isn't a bad thing by any means.
  18. Have any accusations like this ever come out in the past with anything where the designer had to defend his/her marketed model? I thought that I read that the designer didn't use any outside source(brickshelf/flickr) for inspiration and this whole thing was basically just a coincidence?
  19. This is one of the coolest sets in years and looks amazing! Definitely a must buy. And without a doubt, the designer did a great job. IMHO The interior is a little lacking, but the exterior is superb. As far as some ideas being used, I don't know how anyone can deny that these similarities are just a coincidence. I mean once you get past the building structure, then you have the color, then even deeper you have the very similar building techniques for the window frames. When you do a search at Brickshelf, these images from 2005/2006 are the first things that come up. It would be interesting to hear from the designer of this 6 year old Haunted House and see what he/she thinks about all of this. I don't really think the structure/style of the house is what is being questioned. As someone has stated before, is it really a bad thing to admit inspiration? The letter from the designer seems very sincere but also very well prepared.
  20. How anyone can complain about spending a few dollars for high quality instructions that people spend 100's of hours developing really makes you wonder. You know, these guys don't have to be doing that at all and as far as inspiration goes, most of the guys that I see asking a little money for instructions already have 1000's of pictures up for everyone to copy and use for inspiration.
  21. I thought Cuusoo was about ideas for new models? Not for batching 100 of things that are already on the market.
  22. I agree that the main page on Cuusoo should not have the projects that are the top in vote counts. It should be randomized every time that you go there as to which models are featured. If someone wants to see what is tops in votes, they can do a search themselves. Too many great models getting buried and too much focus on who is on top. Of the current top 6 in votes, I can see maybe one of them even having a chance to become official.
  23. Why would someone hack bricklink of all places to cause Havoc?
  24. I thought that I read somewhere that Mindstorm was more popular than Technic and Lego also sold more Mindstorm then Technic?
