  1. Geez Well, I'm not a fan of Doomsday, he was one of the characters that got me out of comics back in the 90's. He's like, well, Bane for Superman. Anyway, Mr. Mxyzptlk is great, and Brainiac is interesting. Darkseid is awesome, and I think he will appear as he is DC's ultimate big bad at the moment. Not as many 'greats' after that, but still interesting... Oh yeah, and Bizarro, me love him! As for the Flash, he's pretty famous in comics for his rogues gallery, which I think would be pretty comparable to Spider-Man's in size, but he just has never had a starring cartoon show to build up his reputation. Hopefully, since he's in the Justice League main team, he will appear. I kind of doubt he'll get solo sets though. His famous villains are the Mirror Master and Captain Cold, who predates Mr. Freeze (in his modern form). There is such a dense amount of comics out there to pull from, but they're just being exploited now. That Justice League cartoon show was pretty awesome, and the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games had tons of characters. The more LEGO makes, the better
  2. Didn't someone say that the Friends line is about getting people who don't play with LEGO playing with them? Hmm. I recall something like that. Hmm. Maybe it makes a lot of sense for TLG to pay attention to people who aren't actual fans. After all, the "actual fans" are already buying. Ah yes, new customers People who weren't "actual fans." Of course, if people don't like things, they should speak their opinion and have their voice heard, not merely refrain from buying things. After all, that's one purpose of public discussion
  3. The early Basement Jaxx. I can't believe this is 13 years old already. It's old enough to start sneaking liquor
  4. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you were born in the early 90s. Maybe 1992? LEGO has record profits and growth at the moment, so I think it would be hard to convince them to change course. If you were them, would you change? <edit> it seems I just parroted a lot of what Ash above me wrote
  5. Huh? At DC, Superman has a pretty good set of villains, and the Flash has an amazing group. At Marvel, lots of series do. The Fantastic Four have amazing ones, and the Avengers are pretty solid too. Ultimately, they will be based on TV shows and movies, and then comics later. Probably video game appearances will count for more than comics Hopefully that means a lot of DC heroes appear, since so many were featured in the Justice League show. I would love to see Red Tornado, the Creeper, Green Arrow... There are a lot of great characters, but most don't have the high profile of Batman/X-Men/Spider-Man etc.
  6. I'd be happy to stick with the 3:1 ratio, meaning that, all together, we'd have about eight enemies to get, and more if there were two factions. I don't know that there are two factions, but with so many of us here, it's a definite possibility. On the other hand, if there were more than one faction, there is a solid chance that it's even easier for the hontonoyakuza (real Yakuza) to prevail, since the factions would have to take out each other too (unless they were to end up combining ) Anyway, until we find out there is more than one faction, I'm sticking with that 3:1 ratio
  7. Alright, so you want a little Japanese to pepper your Yakuza experience. Here are some words and phrases that could be useful: くそ! kuso! -damn!/crap! へえええええ? heeeeeey? -huh? おれ ore- me (for tough guys) わたし watashi (for average people) あたし atashi (for feminine women) ~さま ~sama (respected person title) ~さん ~san (average person title) ~くん ~kun (young man's title) ~ちゃん ~chan (cute girl's title) <please, call me Norio-sama ) お父さん otosan -father 神様 kami-sama -God (that is, Mr. God) そろそろ soro-soro -It's about time to start/go やっと! yatto -At last!
  8. Great job! Good coloring, good effects, good pacing.
  9. Well, I'm of two notions. One, I don't like this: Starting on day one, asking how someone knows there would be lynching... It's all a little too much for me. Between that, and the obscene size of their signature (no true Yakuza needs that sort of bling), I think that would be a fair choice, just to send a message to the true Yakuza to be gung ho, right from the start, and avoid all pussyfootin'. The second choice is this guy: First off, it would be a lesson about not using the C & D for gameplay. The point that it wasn't in the day thread would be the reason to vote that way. But then... Yeah, pretty much. That's a nutsy reaction to nothing but talk on day one. So, for day one lynch candidates, I'm leaning toward someone whose behavior isn't helping
  10. Please keep in mind, it could have been an inoccuous joke as well. I myself have proclaimed my innocence purely out of boredom in other lives. Allow me to demonstrate: I, Norio, being of sound mind and body, hereby claim to be the Towniest of towns. I see no Zephers around, so I feel some confidence his wont get me lynched today
  11. Aw kuso! That's the crappiest, anti-town rule in the book. It was introduced by one of Father's elders in order to 'spur action', and has never worked, which is why he took it out his last time around. It's a shame Father has chosen to adopt it this time around. It makes days much more conservative and dull, since nobody wants to waste their vote by getting it locked. It also helps scum, since they can waste their vote by getting it locked, and have a convenient excuse as to why they wasted it. Not a fan of that vote, and I would be really impressed if Amaterasu (aka, God) were to strike it from the rulebooks before we got the voting started, realizing how much it hurts the momentum of the game
  12. Actually, that's why there isn't supposed to be any action "outside this building" as it were. It's explicitly stated in the conditions of our situation. So, if that's the reason to make a first day lynch, it's fair. I'm sure today, like other days, there will be lots of voting and unvoting before we figure things out. For me, I've got some work to do, scrubbing and cleaning the nooks and crannies of this place.
  13. For the news? Well, there was this one time, when I was tracking this evil mastermind to his layer near the islands off the shore of south Thailand. I had to infiltrate his inner-circle by crashing an illegal casino yacht he ran in international waters. His head of security was this minxy young thing with the most delectable tanned skin. She would have turned even the most expensive Mexican prostitute red with envy. We had a few martinis while we stared each other down, and after a few spins on the roulette table, well, they opened up the floor to the crowds and we started to gamble Was I a winner that night? You can bet I was. Did I break a few rules? I sure as Hell hope I did. But, long story short, I saved the world, yet again, and I paid for that little beach house on the coast of Phucket with a pinch of the winnings to boot. Of course, I still have a limp to this day, and that's the kind of souvenir you never forget
  14. I'm sure you can be first at something else
  15. はじめまして!ノリオと申します。ここから4649おねがいします わたくしには趣味はヤクザを守ることです。 From here on in, I will use my best English though. I like to, how you say, practice my second tongue
  16. Wow. Shows how much trouble you're in Google translate can translate words from one language to another, but it is honestly pathetic at translating full sentences For example, here is the above sentence translated to Japanese and back. The words are there, but... Honesty is pathetic, but as an honorable person, I can not tell a lie
  17. でも、デフより誰が日本語が上手くできるかなぁぁ…お前は?
  18. Kiel VS. Tammo! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
  19. Hullo! 1) I played with you and made you lose Gotham. Sorry. 2) No holidays. Lots of work. 3) I played and completed Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in Japanese. And I'm playing Skyward Sword now I also know a lot of dirty sex words in Japanese. I'm a chinpira
  20. Marvel originally licensed character 'universes' to studios, so I could see the Skrulls being part of the Fantstic Four universe licensed to Fox. The Skrulls were both Avengers and Fantastic Four badguys, but I think the Super Skrull was proposed as a FF villain at some point. It's also why Scarlet Witch won't be in the movies, she's licensed as a mutant, with the X-Men. In the Ultimates comics, the aliens were the Skrulls, but they mainly used a different name, the Ch'tari or something. So Marvel studios could get away with using that instead.
  21. Most women's organizations hate Barbie, and it has been protested a number of times and ways, which is one reason her body measurements have become a little more realistic these days. Anyway, one of the reasons for the complaint is the marketing, and not the sets themselves. A second reason is that LEGO was perceived as a 'better' company, and is being held to higher standards than Barbie or Disney Princesses. No shit? Nobody died yet? I think this quote accurately captures the degree to which people can't grasp the discussion around the sets. The notion that anybody taking any actions or making a complaint needs to be a life/death thing or it's invalid. I've read the petition. They've got some things right, they've got some things wrong. But, nowhere, not once, did they claim this is a matter of life and death. People pick and choose their fights every day, and I don't think this is a valid way of dismissing the discussion.
  22. That next game is "TBA" ;)

  23. You can see examples of the aliens here: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/53500 They were revealed at Toy Fair through different toys. That link is a movie spoiler though, because they look like
  24. It's not quite sacrilegious. Ultimately, the mask and costume are just a bit of fun. The costume makes about as much sense as the mask. Back when Wolverine was an agent working for the Canadian government, there was no reason for the blue and yellow get up, other than that he was a Marvel superhero As for the hairy back, it won't come up in LEGO, no It was the standard in Marvel comics, part of the manliness that is Wolverine, up until around the time Hugh Jackman took over. I know that my wishes are going to be a minority thing. X-Men was a minor comic until the late 70's/mid 80's, when it became #1, and that was when I got into it. A lot more younger people loved it from the Fox cartoon show in the 90's, and even more from the 00's movies, and I realize they are a lot more of the target audience. So when they do manage to get the comic stuff in there, I'm happy, but not expecting much.
