  1. I suppose you're clearing him for us then
  2. He was seen as a cultist.
  3. Anyway, we should get voting started, shouldn't we? Just to make sure everyone has time to switch their votes 50 times before the day ends, right? Vote: Jennifer Taylor (Sandy) If she's on the side of good, she's done a poor job of showing it.
  4. On that matter though, a framing role might bring out a reverse result, but it shouldn't bring back false tracker and investigator results. I still don't think it looks like a framing.
  5. Sorry, I missed the part in the original post where you said the cook was telling truth the about him not being scum. Entirely my fault. Sincerest apologies
  6. I did nothing last night. That's between you and your tracker to solve.
  7. Well, I reread your post, and you said it looks like he's being framed. I don't know how else you can say it "looks like" he's being framed, unless you have privileged info. I'll just trust that you know what you meant
  8. Maybe you misunderstood what the term 'frame' means? http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Framer
  9. You got at least one fact straight Listen, I'm sure you could be town, because your strategy of blabbing is not a successful scum one. But I can't see any advantage to telling you anything in private. Sorry. Just to be clear, I'm passing along information. I did not call Mehmet scum. I said there was a result on him that he was scum. So, you would be in error in saying that I reached a conclusion. Don't shoot the messenger If results are framed, there should be absolutely no hint of it, or else people will cry foul afterward. Framed results should appear 100% the same as regular night results Jennifer Taylor has been the voice of craziness from the start of this. At this point, I'm hesitant to do anything she's doing. I will go so far as to not vote for Mehmet as long as she is, at this point in time. (I'm free to change my mind in the future, if I so choose to.)
  10. Did you forget your reading glasses? How can you so often not read things? Please, tell me what this says: "Take this with a grain of salt, and it's not necessarily aimed at you, but... You don't really need to tell me what it says, I know
  11. Let's wait to see if a counter-claim is made. There's lots of time in the day. I do think it's a mistake to work under the assumption that an investigator is insane though.
  12. Well, it wasn't Jennifer Taylor, if that's what you're asking Anyway, no, I don't find this person more suspicious than anyone else... And it wouldn't make much difference, would it? Half the people here have been labeled suspicious by at least someone. If you were a cultist, would you, on day two, make a false investigator claim in order to get rid of one person? I think it's unlikely.
  13. Well, investigations are as trustworthy as they are trustworthy. I think you know how it is. I have no reason to doubt that someone coming to me with that claim is telling the truth, from their perspective. Reasons like this: -Lying will put them under pressure the next day, and it wouldn't be worth it for scum to out themselves for the sake of taking out one person, when they could probably just kill them if they really wanted to. -Mehmet was a much more likely subject for investigation than most of us, given his attitude yesterday. -Since the two deaths so far were pure, we can safely say they had no night actions. Therefore, if there is another investigator, they are able to step forward (in private) and counter-claim, and we can figure out if there are any crazy people here. So, I have no doubt in the truth of the claim, but of course there is always doubt in the truth of an investigation. Right?
  14. Wouldn't it be better for scum to "test" for virgins by simply killing people? There is no advantage for them to take one night to find them. It's possible it's a role as the part of some experiment, but I don't see much point to it. Also, Mehmet Attabar was apparently investigated last night and was found to be a cultist If there is a second claimed investigator, let me know, I suppose, and maybe we'll know if we have any conflicts going on, otherwise, we'll only have one way to test the one we have...
  15. I would feel comfortable voting for either of these two as things stand.
  16. It seems for at the moment. I don't think it's forever. Unless they plan to keep the Girls magazine published forever. But it will likely occur again. I fully understand the goal of Friends, and really haven't shown any complaints with the line, except for the way LEGO chooses to market it. Automatically opting-in girls who are already interested in LEGO is the opposite of reaching out. It's nice that they can opt-out, but it's a pain in the megablocks. I'm trying to think if you were subscribed to a magazine, and that company had a new magazine coming out aimed at girls, that they then automatically switched your existing subscription to that one since you're a girl... I'm trying to understand what is acceptable about that business practice, to you I guess, or anyone who thinks that is appropriate or acceptable. ("We decided you'd like this better, because you're a girl" It sounds patronizing to me. ) Why are you telling me about the Change.org petition? I didn't sign it, I didn't support it. I actually have said somewhere in this thread that the most upset people about the Friends line are people who most likely don't buy LEGO for themselves or kids. Sure. But that magazine takes all the stuff that sucks in the Friends line and wraps a big bow on it I think the sets are nice. Some people (not me) complained they were <insert that tiresome argument> with big parts, before they were released. Having seen the sets, we know that's not the case. There are many commendable things about the sets (and I've ordered two for when they are released here next week). My main complaint was that they were segregating their LEGO (ie. discouraging girls from using other series), and using Girly stereotypes to pander to kids. I understand the argument that this series can turn on young girls who might not be interested otherwise In the future, if this is successful, and LEGO broadens the 'girls' line the way they do their adventure lines, this will be really nice, and won't feel quite so much like they're isolating girls in purple valley, er, Heartlake City. I realize you're a strong defender of the line, but please realize that I'm not starting an Internet campaign against it. And Friends lovers don't need to quash any criticism of it. There is a chance that it's not 100% perfect, and is worthy of some criticism. I know I am My daughter is too young just yet for the LEGO magazine, but the lesson of simply this Special Edition is the exact opposite of the ones I want for her. People keep saying, "Listen to the children!" (not you specifically), but 1) the role of a parent is to not listen to children. After teaching for years, I know that if kids were listened to, they'd be eating chicken nuggets at every meal and have a Nintendo DS glued to their face. It's a parents job to guide. More importantly, 2) LEGO did not give the kids the choice. That is to say, LEGO did not listen to the children in this case. Imagine it had just been a bonus issue. And the boys issue, aka the regular issue, had still included girls. It would have been far less pandering. I'm all for expanding the range of LEGO Bring in new members by automatically switching existing girls to a girly magazine. Thank you for your eloquent reasoning That's quite a sensible suggestion
  17. Take this with a grain of salt, and it's not necessarily aimed at you, but... No shit! Seeing the Scum win condition, they had no clue of the term Virgin, simply reference to pure ones. So, any hypothesizing that I was a scum member trying to reveal the scum winning condition to town on day one ( ) was just utter bollocks. But, what was absolute common logic to me (that a person behaving as I did was clearly not scum), ended up making me the lead candidate for being voted out, and made me have to reveal my role to get off the lynch. I'm sorry to cause you all so much trouble Well, he did harass me for all of day one, before leading a lynch on me, forcing me to reveal my Virgin status, before switching his vote eighteen times, before settling on a different Virgin to lynch. I think his Innocent status has been perfectly confirmed by this point Haven't you sent him all your information yet?
  18. Apparently not. I read that the Girls one has an "opt out" somewhere in it, if you'd like to get the "regular" one in the future. Maybe it'll only be now and again, and not every issue, but they do have plans to do this again in the future. Also interesting, the magazine often shows kids with their creations. Now for the time being, girls photos will only appear in the girls magazine, according to a commenter on one site (a parent who phoned LEGO to check). So, girls are allowed to read the 'regular' one (if they contact the company to change it back), but can't appear in it. This is exactly the kind of dumb shit that I don't want my daughter to have to put up with in life. It was nice having a company like LEGO that didn't pander. Oh well, I can still support her playing, but I would not subscribe her to the LEGO magazine. Gender-dividing MOCs
  19. LEGO has taken their next logical step in letting boys and girls know what they should be playing with. Market research, natural tendencies, etc etc http://brickset.com/news/article/?ID=2304 Thanks LEGO, for letting people you can either be normal, or be a girl. I think it's safe to say to all the people minimizing the Friends line as 'Lego simply reaching out to girls who wouldn't otherwise' will have a hard time explaining why all girls who were already playing with LEGO enough to have subscribed to the LEGO magazine need to be reached out to (and not given a choice in the matter of what they received). If it was any other toy company, I wouldn't care.
  20. I raided my mp3 folder the last two days, listening to a lot of music I hadn't taken the time out for, or catching up with stuff I haven't in a long time. Today was heavy on the D's. Dinosaur jr. (perfect for dating a cool high school chick in 1992), Deerhunter (perfect for sounding sophisticated on a picnic), Depeche Mode (pre-emo synth-emo), then some other tracks: Battles (over rated), Flying Saucer Attack (the best named band ever, IMO, but there music is a case by case thing; FSA: Further, is beautiful), Death Cab for Cutie (I pretty much love them. Missus def thought I was playing Blur, and upon consideration, I can hear a lot of similarities; I love Blur ), and a whole lot of Pole, superbly minimalist German techno dub. They are very classy, future-easy listening. I listened to a few of their albums, but I was able to take a deep listen to the last album of theirs I got, Steingarten. And I took another listen to Plej, the Swedish wonderkind. Good, smooth stuff. So, I spent a lot of time around the house the last two days, reading, cooking, eating, with a musical accompaniment. I love music and need to keep more time in my life for it
  21. Exit Through the Gift Shop. A must watch for anybody who thinks art is interesting. A puzzle of a flick. Compelling, beautiful imagery without a clear statement, much like the most classic of art (as contrasted with 'classic art'). And lots of graffiti too
  22. Cheers, no worries I don't know what it would take to get me to fly and pay for hotel for a LEGO event, but it's probably not this. I enjoyed it lots, but there was nothing exceptional, particularly socially or in terms of LEGO deals. I was lucky enough to be living a half hour north of the place Maybe I'll meet you when LEGOLand Nagoya opens a few years from now
  23. As I'm trying to go to bed, I can't feel right in leaving my vote hanging. Hopefully others on different schedules can be around to hear out all the stories and make a wise decision. Unvote:Penelope Farago (Waterbrick Down) Good night
  24. Yeah... If I'd been around earlier, I might have been able to see if he'd been checking in, then taking the time to consult with others to get his story straight. But I wasn't. The details of it sound convoluted enough to be believable, but only just. I think he needs to receive some sort of investigating, or if someone wants to make a counter-claim and call him a liar, (preferably to someone they deem trustworthy in private) now would be a great time. Unfortunately, I'm going off to bed now. I have spent to much of my time on this, day one. Mercifully, I might hope to not survive much longer. It would prevent me from having to scroll through any more sermons
  25. I suspected there would be a role like this, and just mentioned it to someone in PM. It's a shame if you are to go. The timing on your reveal is sketchy, especially since you didn't vote for me earlier, when you should have been a little more aggressively self-preservational. Hmm. I'm on the fence about this, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and hope that some tracker or role cop can follow you tonight. If you're telling the truth, you'll be likely blocked tonight. Regardless, it's better to be safe than sorry. Unvote: Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick) Vote: Penelope Farago (Waterbrick Down) Sorry Penelope, if it comes to you. I don't know that you are a better candidate, but I have to take a claim as it's made at this point
