Heartlake Heartbreak - Day Six: Under Pressure
def replied to Darkdragon's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thing is, Katie, questions like that are time-sensitive. You can't look like you're consulting anyone, for our sake. We need to know we can trust you. Checking your mailbox, I see you were here 20 minutes ago and aren't here now. That's not good. When you're in a situation like this, it has to be a top priority, and you need to reassure us when there's doubt. You chose not to. Ignoring Billie and my questions, along with the non-statements you made eatlier today, plus the circumstantial points I laid out before, puts you at the top of the lynch today. -

Now, with the brother story, Katie was the one who 'went' to Daisy? It may have been Daisy's winning disposition that made Katie trust her on day one, but, if that was the case, then more likely it was part of Daisy's aggressive day one strategy. (I'm working off of memory that that was what happened.) Katie, you need to fill us in on what you were doing, but also let us know exactly why it was you trusted Daisy to help you on day one. *What you were doing with Oscar, that is. -

I think the scum decided on day one to 'help' town with their lunches, as shown by Daisy bringing it up in public day one. Mike could be scum. Daisy fought with me to get everyone to ignore her scumminess, but I wouldn't put it past her and Mike to get Mike on that bandwagon, flinging crap at him too for literally no reason, other than to look innocent in comparison. -

Why wouldn't people be pushing for Penny and Ginny? They were just hanging around, not doing much Oscar, I don't think you should make roles public, just a clear, likely clear, and unknown. The ones who would be clear would be the ones who have confirmed their towniness to you through actions, and not simply cop-checked. I consider myself cleared through lack of actions, like when you tested me with that PM, and I gave you the correct/honest answer, which was contrary to what you'd fed daisy. But, people who gave lunches to you should have little value. Don't out roles yet though. -

I was really hoping Ginny would turn up scum. Sorry Ginny. And Penny, I'm not so sorry in your case, because you were just a big question mark, and unhelpful when the votes were coming to you. I'm at a loss for what to do now. Oscar has most of the info. I think at this point, if I were Oscar, I'd make a public list of who is 100% clear, who is 80% clear, and who isn't at all. We got rid of two unclear members yesterday, so hopefully the number of those still not clear is low. -

I second that -
Thanks, it's great to hear. I've really been enjoying making these. I suck at long form, but short strips are more manageable. The thumb isn't healed, and I can't hold a brush properly, but I've tried to get at back at it, and I like the pages I've done. The great thing about introspection, it once you cover the surface, you have to start digging to keep it interesting. I also think I'm trimming the fat more and more, to get it where I want it to be. The less words, the better.

Thanks for the review This reminds me a lot of the Bagend set, in that the designers are starting to make sets with irregular builds like MOC'ers, particularly with the gates and gargoyle, though they've been doing it in the modulars for a while. Is it a shift to more AFOL style sets, or have they just decided kids can handle it. Either way, they are really interesting. I agree the minfigs are hit and miss. I don't have a Scarecrow or Poison Ivy, so they'd make me happy, but I'm getting pretty overwhelmed with Batmen. This set will be in my "likely to buy" pile this year, though it'll be competing with the Monster Mansion and whatever modular is released.

The question is, why hasn't Rick received the title: typical and reflective of the darker corners of human history -

Mainly, this: That looks like you were, well, considering switching your vote from Penny. Or was that a horse euphemism I'm not familiar with? <I'm just going to go behind the barn and switch my vote for a bit, if you get my drift.> -

This hits me as scummy too. A weak townie hope no mistakes were made. No, don't cry for Ginny, this is what was going to happen. But it's noted that you were thinking to vote for her, but weren't confident about it. This is late game. There are many cleared, and some not. The ones who work hard to clear themselves are safe. The vanilla townies who were just along for the ride will need to be checked, either by night actions or by lynch and day kill. But town is doing more than well enough that we can break a few townie "eggs" to make this scummy "omelette" we're working on Oh, and vote: Penny (volcanikpanik) Merry Christmas Penny! (Where's the Santa emoticon?) -
Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion
def replied to just2good's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Cars 2 wasn't that bad. It only looks bad in comparison to the high levels of other Pixar films. If Dreamworks had made it, it would have been praised for being a Dreamworks animated movie that doesn't rely on pop culture jokes that kids don't get. It's my least favorite of their movies, but I've seen it a dozen times because of my daughter. One positive thing I can say about it is that they didn't just remake number one and instead tried something new. And a bad Pixar movie is still pretty good (at this point)- 279 replies

Just in time, this copper's going to catch some z's. Unvote: Penny (VocanicPanik) Vote: Ginny (CaptainGenaro) Maybe the day via will do us a favor and take out Penny tomorrow, just to be safe. -
Thanks It could have been worse. The tip was still slightly attached, so it's now tightly wrapped in place and should be good in a week or so, though I have to go back to the hospital tomorrow to get it checked (yes, for Christmas) . The thing is, I can't put pressure on it, which affects how I hold a brush. I just can't firmly do anything with it, including put my boots on or use a smartphone. All the same, it gives me something to write about later

I sliced off the tip of my thumb with a cheese grater this week, so this will be my last strip of the year, possibly. It's been a terrible week, except that I got an industrial size scanner, and was invited to participate in an art exhibit next year. So, motivation is high. This is one of my favourites, so that is a good thing:

Especially in a country like Canada, you have to consider the cost of shipping. LEGO has the choice of opening four stores across the country, and setting up four shipping centres, perhaps in the States, which in itself would be a pain. Or it can have a single shipping centre in the T.O. area, then, after that area is completed, start on the next region (either Montreal or Vancouver), until it eventually is a national store. That's how lots of companies handle it, and shouldn't be a source of consternation. Of course you want a store nearby, but they need to do it in a profitable way Just remember, four stores in Toronto are better than zero stores in Canada.

It's a hard call: Just remove the unhelpful lump that already has a pile of votes, or get rid of another unhelpful lump that's been riding just below the radar? If one other person wants to vote Ginny, I'll switch my vote back and help the Ginny bandwagon get momentum. It's Christmas eve, and Fred's gonna be dressing up as Santa tonight, so I'll be around to change up my vote if anyone takes me up on this offer. I do have a wooden train track to assemble later that will be for li'l Fred "from Santa", so that will take me away from Heartlake for a little while. -

If that's the case, then you sucked for town. If I were the commuter, I would have made sure I was out in front making me a hated target for scum. And you would be invaluable for Oscar to use you as a decoy with people talking to him in private who are less than trustworthy. Instead, you barely showed up, didn't follow along, then got bitter that people want you gone. You should be angry at yourself, not at the rest of town. Not your best showing. Unvote: Ginny (CaptainGenaro) Vote: Penny (VocanicPanik) With teammates like that, who needs scum? Fair enough. If you have no concrete evidence, then it may be better to keep their name a secret. All the same, anyone targeting Oscar on day four, and not already in his circle, is probably bad news for town. He should have had the benefit of the doubt with the rest of the town by then. -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
def replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow, BrickG, your heart is really in this. Since the Western is so out at the movies, I guess Lego will have to move into drama and documentaries before finally trying some porn themes But you're not really proving anything. I bought a town hall this year. Do kids want town halls? Including a mayor and a couple getting married? I sure didn't when I was a kid. Or a pet shop. Or most of the modular sets... Because they aren't aimed at kids. Or the Hayabusa. Kids don't want realistic satellites. They want Star Wars style stuff. Still, LEGO released all that. If the Western set ever does come out (and keep in mind it was rejected for being a business conflict, and not because it was unfeasible), it won't be selling to kids. It'll be aged 14+. So don't worry about the kids. I agree Back to the Future will sell loads though. That's got to do with the price point as much as the license. An UCS one wouldn't sell as well. -

I appreciate you're trying, and I know how frustrating it can be to be a vanilla townie. That's why vanillas need to work hard and stay in front. These points have no meaning though. You were the second last voter, but the day ended very early, so there were another 4-5 people who could have sealed that vote. Walter was a lock, so scum would want to get in on that vote before it's too late. Sure enough, the person who voted for Walter before you was Tammy. That actually looks bad, like you were coached to get in on that vote before it was too late. And the lunches are meaningless, since they were given to scum and town. Using it on Oscar would be a good "n00b" way to waste one without getting results. It can be said that no scum will get useful results, since they know not to check their scummates. Those two "efforts" of yours were most definitely scummy moves, whether you're scum or not. Vanilla townies need to work twice as hard or they just get in the way
