  1. Truth is, we want to be informed as to who has logged on...
  2. And please, update your avatars. Day one won't start until all avatars are updated and all night actions are sent in.
  3. Night Zero It begins in a dingy apartment in California. Hinckley prepares some sausages, as he checks Eurobricks every 30 seconds, waiting for his role PM for the untitled mafia game. "Where the heck is it? The last game has been over for over 24 hours!" He turns to the computer screen. "I just love Eurobricks so much!" "Eurobricks is like, totally awesome. I wanna get EB T-shirts printed up so people on the street know I run the place." He hits the refresh button again. "I wonder if a tattoo artist could get the stars right?" With all the noise of him talking to himself, he doesn't hear the foot steps creeping up from the floor behind him. The sound of the hammer connecting with his noggin is not unlike that of a coconut, and is satisfying to hear indeed. At that same time, around the world, the noggins of 25 other Eurobricks users feel the hammer as well. NEW ZEALAND ENGLAND HOLLAND ETC. ETC. Anyway, shortly enough, the selected folks find themselves waking up in a forbidding room. Groaning mildly, they pull themselves to their feet, and try to get acquainted with each other, though they are surprisingly familiar with each other. Cornelius Murdock takes in lean Jim Butcher. "Jimbee? Youze is a cop?" Butcher looks him up and down. "Um, I'm um, I guess so. Murdock, you're a... uh, I like your ribbon." Big Cam stares out the window, looking for any sign of the sea. "Yarrrr....." Iamded gravitates to Dragonator. "Hey Draggy! Want an apple? I got an apple if you want it. Do you want it?" Draggy gets pensive. "Uh, yeah, sure, thanks. Hey, where's Shadows? I gotta tell him my role." Cecilie, DarkDragon and Pandora gather in the corner. Cecilie looks around, "quite the sausage party we've been invited to. TinyPies' eyes perk up, "What? Sausages?" DarkDragon replies to her, "oh, there's one more lady over there, we should--" Pandora steps in. "That's Badboy." Shadows takes a step up to Tamamono. "Trying to emulate someone with those threads, kid?" Tammo stutters, "Uh, uh, yeah, you're Shadows, right?" Shadows mutters under his breath in a way audible to all, "This kid might be useful!" Zepher starts talking to nobody in particular. "Hey, it's me, Zepher. I'm nice. C'mon, somebody, talk to me." In the cavernous room, approaching footsteps are heard. The door on the balcony swings open, and a somewhat familiar face walks in. "Hello, you mother-loving dum dums... And by that, I mean you are dumb people who do in fact love your mothers." The crowd rolls their eyes in irritation. Various utterances litter the room... next he'll start the scum or dumb thing...how did he pay for the airfare?...Crikey, I need a toilet... "I apologize. That was unhostlike of me. After all, I didn't bring you here to insult you. I brought you here to kill you!" He laughs maniacally. "Mwah hah! Mwah ha hah! Bwah ha hahaha!" "Uwah ha hahahaha!" The camera pulls back a little. "Oh sorry, I forgot, the game has started. You'll all be getting your roles and allegiances shortly. This is night zero, so all with roles will have 24 hours to get their actions in, and voting will start as per usual on day one. May the best players win. And may the lazy players die a slow, humiliating death." Redblade Rick TinyPiesRUs Dragonator Rules (deviations from the normal EB rules are struck-through) 1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Scum. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Scum, while the Scum needs to (knowingly) outnumber the Town. Third-party (neutral)characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting will be done in the following format; Vote: Player. Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Player. No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. The player with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the mayor will decide the lynch, through their vote, or by PM if necessary. Voting is mandatory. Failure to vote will incur a vote penalty the following game day. 2.5. A mayor will be elected in the first 24 hours of the game day one. Voting for the mayor will be done in the following format: Mayor: Player. Unvoting for the mayor will not be allowed. One may vote for themselves. In the case of a tie, the first person to achieve that number will win. In the case that the mayor loses their life, a new mayor will be elected in the first 24 hours of the following game day. The mayors single duty will be that of tiebreaker. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached after 72 hours. In the case of a unanimous vote, the day may end 24 hours early. After the day has been concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last 24 hours (or 48 hours if an emergency comes up). Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 20 hours of the night stage. 3.5. Players may not target the same player two nights in a row, and may not target themselves. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as any that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the host via PM. That includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM 11. Violation of the above rules may result in a 5 vote penalty vote penalty per every 4 living players against you, and death upon further offense.
  4. I buy separate Lego for my daughter, and occasionally let her play with some mini-figs. I keep my sets out of reach from her.

Ach, I finished my current "big piece" before starting the next mafia game. Now I can do it guilt-free that I'm not procrastinating!
  6. It evolves around me. Don't you know that by now?
  7. The was the first and only time, for the reasons I stated before. It gives the third party a big advantage over the other players. But yeah, Wuntin did a great job with it.
  8. Day one, you are telling people how Fred is, and how Daisy is, but it's not based on past games! In the past, you've said you want to change things from how you play in the past. You are ridiculously conscious about how you play, but are so quick to slap down any possiible "meta-play." That's Zepher's thing. Maybe you are an in-denial meta-gamer. I'm setting up an intervention for you as we speak
  9. There was no need to investigate a player who had led solid lynches, when at the same time, there was little chance of a cult. It was not sloppy play on the side of town... Would you have investigated him on day four?
  10. So town/scum win was a lottery, since they weren't looking for a cult leader, whatsoever
  11. I took a six-month from EB mafia games for a number of reasons, and this was me testing the waters. So I was playing, but I wasn't setting my alarm clock early to check the threads and update everything. And that's a lot of the reason I had fun. I participated, without getting over involved. If I'd gotten over-invovled (as I have in the past ) I'd have a different mood now Honestly, I enjoyed this game. I was the baby bear... Not too hot, not too cold, just right...
  12. Jeezus Scuba, you acted like a total dick for your time here, just accept it and own up to it, and don't blame people for not liking it: "Hey, So I hurt your feelings during the game. Sorry about that. My attitude is putting you off, that's a problem. You haven't hurt my feelings, don't worry. And I really don't care about joining your game, although it is an interesting concept. Point is, I have no hard feelings, you have, clearly. My attitude is a problem? I don't think it's my attitude that's the problem to be honest, I think it's something else entirely. Look, you don't have to like me, and I don't like you, I will say that right now. But we don't have to, and no one expects us to like each other. The thing is, we are going to play mafia together one way or the other. If we can't play nice and show that outside of directly the game, we inconvenience others. I bear no ill will, but I am not so sure you don't. If you feel wronged, that's not how things were meant. Just don't be a baby about this, because that's what it feels like to me, kinda. I hope we can talk this out constructively, maybe tell me why and what to change about my "attitude"."
  13. Not in the least close. Draggy was posting in a really scummy manner, identical to Bloodbrick II, but there was no way in my head that he was part of a cult, because it wouldn't be balanced. So I ignored the idea. Even if I thought it, it would have been impossible to wrangle a lynch on him. I merely thought he was scum, which you let me know was impossible. I'm glad I never put my heart in the game, because I'd be pissed if I had

Since New Years, I've decided to upgrade to colour, since it's free on the Inernet. I'm not spending much time on it, but it's still being thought out.
  15. Go for it. I wasn't reading it as a question the first time 'round
  16. Don't tell me you have hurt feelings now. Your entire strategy was being an unpleasant person. I'm not being mean, I'm just letting you know. You'll be eligible for the next game
  17. It's true, the losing side voices complaints, and the winning side voices a shrug on these things. For me, I'd like to think I have these kinds of opinions even on the occasion when I win. And I have. It's not satisfying to win because of an imbalance. In the long term though, I'd like you to consider what I've said, and hope you host again. You're a good host Really? Wow. Another reason not to invite you
  18. No worries, but you're not playing in my game, because I just don't want to witness that sort of attitude again
  19. So you're saying Zepher does not equal metagamer? Anyway, you're saying town should have been looking to take out the Cult Leader they weren't looking for, or that the random player with that role almost got taken out by chance, so the game was balanced? Honestly, even if iamded (or whoever had the role) was almost targeted, it was not something that town could play against. What could me or JimButcher do except start an unsubstantiated lynch against that player? Should we have sniffed him out and got all the non-cultists to unite against them? Town and scum were losing, except by luck. I'll check out your roles, and save further comments until tomorrow. Your game was good for the most part, and I had a good time. Thanks a lot
  20. No worries. Take my criticism advice with a grain of salt. When I did my first game, I experimented with some regular mafia standards, and it baffled some players, rightfully. Ironically, I'm much more experienced as a host now (six games hosted) and am more conservative with how I define roles. The reason being is that it's hard to play a game you don't know the rules to, and I want players to be able to play.
  21. Ah, so the remaining town should have spent more time hunting for a cult Basically, once the founder was killed, the cult won the game since there was no need for the rest of us to keep looking. We basically had confirmation of the premature end of the cult. http://wiki.mafiascu....php?title=Cult Just one back-up is a sort of balance, but the game was decided at that point, in my opinion. I was surprised when Shadows came up Founder, since I really expected him to be scum, but wasn't worried at all since that should have been the end of the cult. We really should rely on shoulds and shouldn'ts in these games, or else experience has little meaning. I've gotten to the point where I think third-party roles should be nearly impossible to win. For example, the SK role traditionally has to be last player standing, but EB, and I think Hinck in particular, introduced the notion of winning with either side. That makes them practically a second vig. In Bloodbrick I, I had it that they had to do three successful kills to win, so that it was fair. In retrospect, that was not fair. The winning side has to work a lot harder than three successful night actions. The SK needs to be a nightly role, but without caring about the win, and simply having a ball mucking up other people's game. In the same way, giving the SK a strongman ability is poor, and likewise giving cults an advantage to win, when simply being a secret group that has few night actions to get sussed and a confirmed voting block that grows each day is enough. I'll stop there since I'm hosting next, and all this can be read into by all the Zephers out there. * There was a lot to like in this game, but in the end, there was a balance problem as is often the case. *Zepher = metagamer
  22. The no-suicide thing didn't distract me, since cults don't have to commit suicide. But once the founder dies, the cult shouldn't be able to recruit. Was Shadows not the founder? Why was he confirmed as founder then?
  23. Alright, we've got over 30, so we can consider these sign-ups closed.
  24. Well, I was enjoying things well enough until the conclusion. I don't know how the cult won, what their win condition was or what they had to do or what their actions were, which makes it pretty hard to play against, but congratulations to the winners! Thanks for a fun game
