  1. How do you spell 'bandwagon?' E-u-r-o-b-r-i-c-k-s
  2. Mary has read the votes for her, and run off. Now, if she were to panic in public, I would consider it scummy, but saying nothing whatsoever seems scummy as well, as if she needed to get a consultation first. Maybe I just see scum everywhere
  3. They would need to be careful, because if they claimed something others had, there would be a danger of being called a liar. I find the idea of a building contest pretty baffling. This doesn't clear things up much at all. Only two people have struck me as scummy, and even then, they were mild tells. One of them was Mary, for over-role playing and defensiveness. Since voting should be done earlier rather than later.... Vote: Mary (TheBoyWonder)
  4. Well, I won't be voting based on number. I have had a few pings, and while most probably are harmless, I'm sure one or two are right on.
  5. Honestly, I have no idea. In previous mafia situations, there have been many 'no-nos' in the design, and it makes the end result less predictable, if somewhat frustrating.
  6. Sorry, I was mistaken about the numbers relating to current/recent sets, but the numbers are more than simple coincidence, since more than a few have them. I too got a ticket number relating to a 2012 set. If the numbers are truly pointless, it'll be pure frustration in the end though. A total distraction. We'll need to compare the dead to the numbers to really know.
  7. That's weird Richard, are you sure? All the other set numbers we've seen have been 2012 or so, I think...
  8. Until we know the sets mean nothing, I'm going to keep mine private. It would be crazy for them to have something to do with alignment, since it would be silly, plus pretty easy to fake-claim. My worry is that there might be a sub-group that might be identified by them. Honestly, for no other reason than that I can't see any other reason except that they're random. Give me a day, at least. We won't solve any mysteries by revealing ticket numbers on day one, I think.
  9. At least you have a sense of humor about it
  10. Hey folks, loveable Babs here. I'm non-plussed about sleeping in the iceberg lounge with you all, and request you are conservative with your edibles since I don't see a shower, and we might start getting a bit ripe after a few days in here. Just some interesting things I noted from Bob's rules: Are we to assume Innocents are Loyalists? And I think from this that there is either a serial killer, or a second mafia, or both. I think the plural of faction was deliberate. Hopefully they'll be working at cross-purposes and take each other out here and there Rules below 11 have no penalty. Interesting Furry day is mandatory... Except the rule won't be enforced because it was a below rule The last thing we can learn is that Bob has a great sense of irony. Either that, or none whatsoever! Anyway, if we're going to dress up as animals, day one is the day to do it, before the stank starts building up. I've always been partial to pink A pink bear costume would be quite nice!
  11. So it's agreed, we'll all call you Dick? Hi, Dick! Dianne, are you okay? Are you having a stroke?! Or was someone chewing your face?! Either way, is there a doctor in this place?
  12. Hi, I'm Barbara, but please, call me Babs. Everyone else does.

Pigbrick, you've got great shading skills, especially on that first pic! My last week and a half: As 'true' as these all are, they are somewhat vague in structure. Hopefully you can get the idea behind them all.
  14. It was my island lair, now abandoned, in the basement
  15. Please try to read things clearly and not have a knee-jerk reaction. I wrote: the way blacks used to be portrayed in films" not, "the way I see blacks" And I did not invent the argument. Groups at the time did. And, having it pointed out, I can see it. If you look at old American film, particularly, pre-1960s, yes, there was a way they were often shown. It's not racist to note that, and others in the thread have described it too. Thanks for calling me racist though
  16. If I can get a ticket, I'm willing to go 1) Are you busy for the next few weeks? No more than the last few weeks. 2) Have you played Mafia before? Yes.

Cheers! I only wish I'd started a decade ago when I was still suffering culture shock! Still, today's Setsubun no hi strip has a strong touch of that. This week, I was busy doing something stupid: Page four, panel four is one of my favorite pictures :D
  18. I think my first game with you was Belleville, and you've come a long, long way since then Have you reread that recently?
  19. Great job! It's a little bizarre, setting yourself up for a romance with a toy, but bizarre is good! Good effects, good page design, just plain good!
  20. I'm not going to do player feedback for a few reasons. One, the people who were active know they were active, and the people who were lazy know they were lazy. Also, I don't know what's going on in PM, so people can be active and I don't really know. So, no point in offending people who will just tell me that they actually were active. My opinion is always the same: Better to be a bad but active player, than a mediocre non-active one. At least by being active, you can learn something and play better the next game (call it Tammo's law ) Big Cam, I know you took my compliment like a backhanded one, but I think you did worlds better this game than in Bloodbrick II. You should be satisfied
  21. Well, some of you will be happy to know I'm going to try this one more time, this year, depending on the hosting schedule. It will be 90% the same game, but all roles will be listed in the sign up thread. It will make lying about roles more difficult, but ideally, every player will know the balance up front, and player frustration will be 100% based on play, and not on a perception of unfair mechanics. Consider it an 'open' game.
  22. On the attitude vanillas should have: agree, agree, agree!
  23. I was never arguing against any portrayals in movies I was simply respecting that a minority group could have legitimate gripes without simplifying things and patronising them with statements like "I can tell the difference between movies and reality," which implies disagreers can't. The only thing I find laughable about this is a) they're complaining about a toy, and not the movie, and b) they're 30 years too late. I'm not Turkish, so I can't say how much this movie made by and featuring 'white' people reverberates with Turks, and their slim film history of being charicatures rather than characters in Western movies. I think the complaints of these people should be considered on a case by case basis. That's me @Aanchair, as much as Tattooine was 'Middle Eastern,' I'd have to say Jabba's Palace was a lot more middle eastern looking that Owen Lars house. Maybe if Owen had smoked a hookah and and Aunt Beru had dressed like a belly dancer, the movies would have appeared more nuanced
  24. I think in this case, the Deadboard will be lost to the sands of time... It was registration only.
  25. The final vignette, such as it is, is up.
