  1. They won't fit over a stud, though.
  2. Velma's hair might work.
  3. I never thought the phrase "literary cannibalism" needed to exist, but it seems that it does!
  4. While Jokerland was a fine set, I felt that it provided us with only a small segment of a true amusement park, and the addition of the Funhouse wasn't quite enough. While this isn't really a MOC, this is what I've done to make Jokerland larger, more dangerous, and most of all, more fun! Well, before we enter, we need tickets! But the booth seems to be closed.... Or perhaps not. Heads, we enter, tails we leave. Poison Ivy's taken a huge risk by imprisoning Supergirl and Starfire together, but. miraculously, she's subdued them. Over yonder is the Test Your Strength machine. With the giant Joker mascot looming over it, it's impossible to miss. Riddler has taken over the Funhouse ever since the park was expanded, and he's got Batgirl hanging over a barrel of toxic who-knows-what. If the need arises, he's going to steal borrow Harley's coaster-car to escape. (The car was reworked ages ago to match Harley's alternating color scheme, all through the vehicle. The white mess we were given just didn't work.) Speaking of Harley, there seems to be a giant box over here with her colors. "'Round the creepy carnival park, the Batman chased the Joker...his red-and-black girl watched and cheered on, POP! goes the Quinn-bot!" Black Manta was rather taken with the dunk tank, and captured Cyborg. Lots of fish, probably dangerous, will only add insult to injury for Cyborg's circuitry. Scarecrow runs the haunted house. Who's his captive? The entranceway is treacherous, for, as Batman realizes there aren't any stairs to reach the top, a giant metal ball swoops down. Naturally, there's a fear gas pipeline going into the greenhouse. The relatively harmless henchman appears to be a real monstrous plant due to the influence of the gas. And if all else fails and Batman manages to defeat all of the villains, there's a last resort. You didn't really think that Joker mascot was ornamental, did you? The deadly robot comes armed with a dually-dangerous hammer. Once side smashes and releases Joker toxin, while the other launches ammunition. So there you have it, some simple ideas to flesh out Jokerland. I do apologize for the photo quality, but the size of most of the items made it difficult to take crisp photos.
  5. While objectively speaking, yes, we are paying for a lot of plastic that may not do much but sit on a shelf, there's no universal agreement for value at a certain price. Just yesterday, I saw a metal dolly cart for large boxes being sold for $30, while a smallish LEGO set may cost the same amount. Is one better value? It depends on what you want. Nostalgia isn't enough here. While I do love the colorful, campy cheese of the show, and the villain figures are absolutely fantastic, I cannot justify $270 for something nostalgic that I'm not heavily invested in. So, while I do want this set, my emotions aren't strong enough to bring me to full-price purchase. I think it's very important to plan for an expensive purchase if you're not able to simply pull the money out of an overstuffed wallet with barely a dent in your total. And a gentle bit of information. While you're not obligated to use it, LEGO's own terminology for their product uses LEGO as an adjective, i.e., LEGO set, LEGO minifigure, LEGO brick, etc.
  6. That frustrated me, too. He's a robot, for crying out loud! And if they do make Missy (please please please), I'd promptly stop playing as the Doctor. No matter if they play identically, preference just makes me want Missy and her clock-TARDIS more. If the wording of the TARDIS-spot hint implies another TARDIS, though, who would be another Atlantis character? Since he's been in TTG, one of the rumored franchises, Aqualad seems likely...
  7. Well, until Me is in the game, I think Missy will be the only alternative.
  8. The point is, Jafar's genie form is not what you think of when you hear "Jafar". It's not nearly iconic enough to take precedence over his chancellor form.
  9. The Level Pack comes with a very involved level, and the TARDIS can access a few secret areas. I might be wrong on my wording theory on the TARDIS, as the Atlantis pools' blurb also implies another thing that can use them.
  10. I know. Even reprisals as minor as Nolan North as the Space Core! I love the inclusion of the Simpsons, but it's just awful. There's absolutely no reason to use archive recording; only Johnny Cash's coyote really needed it. And Chell is the only player character who should be mute, but Bart? At least include something!
  11. D2C sets get their own thread when they're officially revealed. Previously, rumors for the set were discussed in the DC thread.
  12. I'll voice my opinions here, I guess: This set is not worth the price at all. It's not nearly as impressive as something its size and price should be. The right module is great, with the office (wallpaper bricks!) and exterior being fantastic (no way to transform, though, just deploying the heroes.) The center and left, though, are completely disappointing due to a complete lack of play features. There are zero action features anywhere on them! While the reactor is nice, it would have been nice to see something to do. There isn't even enough floor space to pose figures and play with it in a dollhouse manner, and the lab setup has nowhere to go! The vehicles are solid, but they don't justify the price and poor quality of the structure. For $270, we should have gotten more on the cave itself. Stickers are not a selling point, just a nuisance. The figures are fantastic, and I bet you can tell which is my favorite. (for posterity, it was Joker). However, for this price, the Mr. Freeze bonus poly should have been included, and of course, Batgirl. She was a pretty important character, and LEGO managed to get around the mold restrictions by putting Catwoman's hair in S14. Why not make a new cowl, put Batgirl in Jokerland, and recolor it for the '66 Batcave? All being said, this is just a huge disappointment. For its price, it provides the buyer with too little to do and not enough substance. I will certianly be buying this, but not without the aid of gift cards, birthday money, and VIP points. However, I am afraid that they'll try to force us to buy this set by making Freeze a set-exclusive bonus. *crosses fingers that he'll be the monthly offer for any purchase above X amount of money*
  13. I do think it's been poorly done. Why not record new voice clips? The show's still running. Doctor Who had almost all of its current actors reprise their roles, yet Fox didn't allow that for the Simpsons? EDIT: I think I found something exciting! Next to the TARDIS platforms, the hint box that pops up says: "Only special vehicles such as [The Doctor's TARDIS] can teleport from these spots using their TARDIS Travel ability." Surely it would say "Only the TARDIS can teleport from these spots", but this wording implies that there is another TARDIS, and the grandfather clock in the bonus area is programmed with TARDIS animations..I think Missy's happening, guys!
  14. Funny, that seemed to work for me once, and then it didn't another time...must test it more clearly. Probably the Twelfth, on account of having new lines for the game, and being the focal Doctor of the game. Of course, if we had a Missy Fun Pack, there'd be no contest on who I'd prefer to play as. Since the game seems to indicate that a potential Master's TARDIS would be the clock, I wonder what they'd do for the interior. A bunch of gears inside, or a similar room to the Doctor's TARDIS, which doesn't reflect the exterior? And thanks for the tip. I just love how long and involved the level is, wasting a good thirty minutes of my time trying to figure out how to bypass the gate!
  15. Not to burst your bubble, but the Doctors play nearly identically. It's just an aesthetic choice, but I do understand why you'd want to choose one or another, as I already have preferences. Is it just me, or would a "disable regenerations" feature be nice? I'm getting annoyed by the Doctor dying offscreen and coming back as Hartnell and going through the list. In free play, when I'm done solving puzzles, I'll be fine with it, but at the moment, I just want to stick to Capaldi without entering the TARDIS every two minutes.
  16. I imagine the thief's hair should be fairly distinguishable if you find the edges.
  17. And the title of "Most poorly recieved/priced D2C" goes to... I'm hoping this negative reception reaches LEGO somehow and teaches them something about proper set design and fair pricing. I'm going to be over the moon with my campy, colorful, '66 figs, but there's nothing that's going to put this up with the better D2Cs like the wonderfully detailed Arkham, the stunning GBHQ, and the attractive and extremely playable Ewok Village. I'm not really angry at this set, but I hate this feeling of reluctance, especially because I'm not sure what they could have done to improve it. Besides the Batpole and office area, not much happened in the cave itself, besides the death of Molly via nuclear reactor. I don't feel confident calling this a play set, because it doesn't have enough. It's more of a display set...wait. It's a "Diss Play" set for making you struggle to find something to do with it.
  18. Oh, that's excellent. I love the true "second face", just like a "real" oni!
  19. Yeah, I thought as much, but "Central London- 1895" isn't appearing on the console...
  20. Okay, so replaying the DoctorWho pack level, I haven't figured out how to get past the iron gate that closes in the Victorian era, and walkthroughs are too long. What am I missing?
  21. Very impressive. Although I must admit, I personally prefer the uniform buildings with the same base area.
  22. I guess we can agree to disagree, because I've seen the darker-colored Goblin. While perhaps the face isn't as evil as it could be, I still like the minifigure and think they did I good job.
  23. Here's a weird observation: There are two pairs of minifigures in this set which share the same hairpiece. Joker and Alfred and Bruce and Dick.
  24. All are printed, but some of the shield pieces in the sets use stickers and are not Nexo Powers.
  25. Neither, actually. It's appeared on Robin since the beginning of the Super Heroes theme. That's great. I like that, as it provides an incentive to buy the figure and ties them together nicely.
