  1. Exactly what I did. LOL! Picked up five...one for the collection, three for the Musketeers (Athos, Porthos, and Aramis) and one to mod for D'Artagnan. The 'flying v' guitar is also quite a dead giveaway for the punk rocker. LOL I also got an extra soccer player just to have a full set of 'spare' trophies and that flask is VERY cool! I have to say, most of these figs look even better in person than they do in the pics. I am THRILLED with having completed my collection (plus extras) and I'm very much looking forward to series five.

    Canadian Eh?

Wal-Mart at Markville Mall in Markham, Ontario has 5.5 boxes of figs on the shelf as of a couple of hours ago. Good luck finding hockey players or scientists though. I spent 2.5 hours feeling my way through the bags and barely found any. I guess they'd been picked-over pretty good already. Tons of sailors, musketeers, etc., still available though.
  3. Thanks to info posted on here by fellow Toronto residents, I scooted on over to the STC Wal-Mart yesterday. Alas, they only had one box of figs left, that looked like it had been ravaged. Nonetheless, I employed the 'touchy-feely' method and walked away with: Figure skater x1 Musketeer x5 (how did THAT happen?!?!?!) Hazmat Guy x2 Surfer Girl x3 Werewolf x3 Frankenstein's Monster x2 Punk Rocker x5 Viking x3 Kimono Girl x2 Artist x3 Street Skater x2 Lawn Gnome x2 Soccer Player x2 Sailor x2 Then today, I went out and hit another local Wal-Mart and spent 2.5 hours feeling my way through 5.5 picked-over boxes of figs and came home with: Hazmat Guy x1 Hockey Player x4 Crazy Scientist x2 I'm now officially DONE with series four. BRING ON SERIES FIVE!!!!! *edit* Almost forgot: I also picked up a copy of 'Ramses Pyramid' since Wal-Mart has it discounted by $12.
  4. Great idea. I feel the same way. I get quite excited over CMFs that AREN'T 'town' related, simply because they are so much more rare. I'd love to see TLG 'branch out' like you've suggested. Perhaps you need to write them a letter... *g*

As posted in the 'Series 4' topic: Mastermind Toys price in their system for series four minifigures will be $3.49CDN per figure. My wife called this morning and got the price. Not able to tell her the release date though. So, basically, if you can, snag them at Wal-Mart for cheaper.
  6. Mastermind Toys confirmed price (in the system, though not yet available): $3.49CDN per figure. In cases like this, I really HATE being right.
  7. Agreed. When I was a kid, I LOVED "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" books (and animated movies) and would have gone NUTS if LEGO had released a line of those sets. Would have rivalled 'classic space' for my undying love.
  8. Yeah, I'm rather surprised as well...though quite happy, since it means that a few multiples shouldn't be TOO hard to find. =) (Ah, who am I kidding? I still want a whole box! LOL)
  9. Checked TNB's 'Availability' forum: by Tiberius2011 » Sat Mar 19, 2011 8:07 pm For me - Wal-Mart in Whitby, Ontario had five boxes (opened and checked) when i was there today. May go back to get more of specific ones. No word on other Wal-Marts at this particular time.
  10. Sorry, unfortunately, I don't know which Wal-Marts. I got the info off 'Toys N Bricks' Facebook update. Didn't bother to check the forums for the exact locations though, since I had such awful luck trying to snag series three at Wal-Mart. I'll probably just stick with Mastermind Toys again, since I've had such great luck with them.
  11. Word is that series four figs are now being spotted at Wal-Mart stores in Canada...at $3.28 per fig!!!! Considering that Wally World has so far always sold them BELOW MRSP, I'm rather concerned about this. I'm guessing that elsewhere, the cost is going to be somewhere around $3.40 - $3.50, considering what WM's series two pricing was (never even saw series three there).
  12. FIL is heading down to the U.S. today and he's doing some hunting for me. I'm HOPING to score the following: 30005 (Star Wars speeder bike polybag) x10 30061 (Kingdoms spear cart polybag) x3 30062 (Kingdoms target practice polybag) x5 *crossing fingers*
  13. Personally, I think that for the price, we should get all the included figs AS WELL AS R2 and 3PO! (especially after getting shafted on figs with 10179)
  14. Maybe not "UCS" per se but...Harry Potter's "Diagon Alley". Gives HOPE that something like a 'UCS' Black Pearl might come down the pipe.
  15. Anyone else wish that LEGO would release nets in a colour that LOOKS like period netting? Enough with the black nets! White, or tan, or light brown, or SOMETHING that looks more realistic, please!
  16. I certainly hope it's NOT the end. I'd like to see TLG EXPAND the theme, instead of just replacing it with something else. After all, the name "Kingdoms" is pretty inclusive. They could expand to more human "kingdoms", or even delve back into the fantasy realm with other "kingdoms", such as elves, dwarves, trolls, etc. I think that a lot more can be done with this theme and I'd hate to see it prematurely 'killed off'...especially since we haven't even had a decent castle for the dragon knights yet. Release a new 'Dragon castle', fix the problems with the battle packs/release new, PROPER battle packs, toss in a few new impulse sets, a couple more civilian sets and THEN maybe consider finishing the line.
  17. The printing on his arm is his flexible arm armour. He should also have a rectangular shield though, to properly portray a Mermillo gladiator. As it is, he looks more like a cross between Mermillo and Equites.
  18. When you see it written out like that, it does kind of make this year's releases seem that much more impressive. LOL
  19. Personally, I had HOPED that TLG would have packed more elves per box, after seeing the crazy demand for Spartans, coupled with AFOLs asking for elves for some time now. Alas, there are but three per box, as with the Spartan. I don't see that as any kind of coincidence. I think it's quite intentional. After all, IN THEORY, it would sell more figures. IMO, TLG hoped that folks would buy "handfuls" of figs, HOPING to get those elusive Spartan and Elf figures. I don't think they really anticipated fans going to the lengths they did to identify just which figs it was that they were purchasing. I've personally heard the comment "You've got too much time on your hands" several times now, when I've been feeling my way through a box or two of figs and I don't think most rational people would have guessed that 'rabid' fans of certain figs would willingly devote an hour or two out of their day to locate those elusive THREE figures in a box of sixty. *I* would have preferred five ELVES per box, instead of five RACE CAR DRIVERS but, alas, I'm not the person in charge of such decisions. I'll tell you this though: after receiving FOUR race car drivers in an order of eight figures from S@H, I'm NEVER buying my figs that way again, unless I have ZERO other options.
  20. A couple of quick shots: He's a member of my "wood elf hunting party" (of which, at this time, there are two five-elf squads).
  21. Heck, I just slapped a couple of spare quivers UNDER the capes on a couple of figs! LOL Since the arrows stick up over the shoulder, you just have to move the cape slightly so it looks a bit 'thrown back out of the way'. Looks pretty freakin' cool, IMO.
  22. I'm thinking that series 4 might be the first one that I buy a complete box. It's totally cherry and there are many figs that I wish to have in multiple copies! At least she has a fan, unlike (as you say) FM, or the series one "super wrestler", though, like the geisha, I really like him, due to the very cool printing/colours/etc.

    Canadian Eh?

For any folks in north-east Toronto: Toys R Us Markville has quite a pile of series 3 figs in stock and Mastermind across the street (north-east corner of McCowan & Hwy 7) has both series 2 and 3 on the shelf, with series two still on "buy 3, get the 4th free" (all at MSRP of $2.99 per fig). And, if you don't mind paying a fortune for what you can get cheaper elsewhere: ToysToysToys Scarborough Town Centre has series 3 for $4.99 each and series 2 for $6.99 each.
  24. Hula Girl to complete my series 3 collection (forgot about her during my last jaunt to the store), then added some 'extras': Hula Girl x1 Snowboarder x1 Tribal Chief x1 Elf x6 Mummy x1 Gorilla Suit Guy x1 Baseball Player x1 Spartan x4 (store still had "buy 3, get the fourth free" promo going and I still remember the barcode, sooo.... *g*) All figs picked via the "feeling the bag" method (except the Spartans, natch) with 100% accuracy. Faster than trying to find the dots, too, IMO...and since the dots have changed something like FOUR TIMES now, what's the point of even trying?
  25. Finally got a chance to check them out and I have to say, you've got some GREAT ideas. There are a few that will most likely NEVER get made (french maid, executioner) but, some of the others are fantastic. The drawings really help to bring them to life. Nice job!
