Welcome Hellboy and Mephistopheles, make sure you post your sig fig here as well! Also don't forget the build you can earn titles for on the first page of this thread. Hopefully we will see some nice builds from both of you soon. -
Great use of the radar dish as mushrooms. If we have magic then why not giant mushrooms. I haven't picked up any friends sets but the butterfly alone makes me want to get one. the scene is just begging for a frog though dont you think? ;)

I enjoy your builds too and feel I have commented on a majority of them. that being said, Avalonia really only has about 7-10 'active" members and a few that come contribute every now and then. But I understand that people get busy with their lives and other things come up and can't make the guild their number one priority. I haven't been able to do as much building much lately myself and because I have been busy with other thing don't post as much as I would like either. By building and looking at others builds all of us will continue to grow and improve. I know I have seen a half a dozen techniques by others than DC that I thought "wow I need to try that out." So not all improvement comes from the feedback (although I do think it helps) I think the most improvement comes from just building and trying new things, Whether that is a free build or a competition build. That is what I think the guild is mostly about. -
great story and build! as mentioned the effect of the dragon coming out of the water is fabulous! I also love that you built a row boat! great job with that as well.
-
Love this. great build! I know you have snow in the scene but this would look great in Avalonia (by the way I believe guild is now open to new members )
-
excellent build as usual. Great story too. so many nice details the scroll and I had been thinking of a set of those antlers for a future build and they look great IMO might have to get a couple sets now
-
nice builds. I want to do a gatehouse as well but my list of current projects and limits to my build time have slowed my building rate down alot. I the details are nice in the wall to the gate house and nice rock work on the forgotten falls scene. I think a minifig more foliage and another tree on the left side would have really made it pop. can't wait to see the big MOC you are working on

I think you've been doing a great job running the guild as well DC. It isn't easy im sure. I think we have a great guild and for me the main reason for joining was to improve my building skills with the challenges presented. I do like creating the backstory and creating builds for my lands as I think it adds more depth to my MOC and in my mind at least, gives me a direction for my build ideas. I like how we have several mini builds we can complete. Maybe we could expand those? Perhaps do a monthly mini build, I would be happy to contribute toward a prize of some sort (I like the idea of a Avalonia building pack with lots 1x1 round plates, tiles, 1x1 bricks with stud on the face, and lots of foliage pieces or something like that) or a Lego gift card. I also like that we have opened up the guild to new members as well. There are a lot of members that haven't contributed and hopefully new members will give us a new shot of energy. And just so someone can hold me to it when I have posted anything in by the end of this month, here is a list of builds I currently want to undertake: in the Hamlet of Circardia, stables, water mill, Inn, and of course finishing my circus display! Another building for Albion (if there is something on the list that someone signed up for but hasn't built yet can I take a crack at it?) and finally, challenge 3 for the GoH challenge. I have an idea but thinking it isn't all the original so im going to sit on it an think about it for a couple weeks. that seem to work for my embassy build! -
another great MOC. the details and techniques are great. The stone design on the floor, the area around the lion's heads, the furniture. Every time I see you have started a thread, I get excited and you have never disappointed me yet. What's next?

hi Apple Pi. You can still build those challenges, but as they have been judged, they just will be scored as "free builds" -

excellent! I was hoping it was some sort of treasure hunt! I was pondering a ruins as a historic build for Circardia and this will tie in nicely with the new challenge. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! Also great throne room DC! -
Again a great build. lots of nice little details I espcially like the mosaic tiling on the floor in front of the fireplace. A great story between Quinn and her uncle as well. mikey

same thing here, wife said to go for it while it was 2x VIP points. That and we got our tax return last week.

looking forward to it! I want to get a joust set as well but kind of waiting for another double VIP deal from Lego. My build time has been limited lately as I have been busy with a local soccer tourney. that ends this weekend so I should have some more time after that. -
another awesome build. can't wait to see where this story goes! I am trying to figure out how you did the white walls? such a effect use of tiles especially with the brown. As kabel said, you seem to always be a step ahead of us. I always look forward to your builds because they are soo nice to look at but also they are a wonderful class of what you can do with lego.

Awesome tavern LD, I like the use of the legs over the windows! the cobble stones are great too. The cellar door is a great addition too. Nicely done. mikey

I have a couple ideas too for Albion but I was hoping that some of the areas already claimed would have been build by now so I don't look like blazing through them! once I finish my Circus build, I'll get on one of the ideas. of course I have been waiting with baited breath all day for an update on the next challenge. speaking of which, anyone snoop around DC's flikr account today? -

@de gothia -thanks you for your kind words. I can see how you connected the round wagon to Hobbits, (the round door to hobbit burrows for example) I have always been impressed by gypsy wagons and wish I could have put some more detailing into my build but with out stickers I don't think it is possible. @cptmugwash - thanks. I enjoyed making the wagons. I had one or two that didn't make the cut though! the monkey wagon is the one I had the most trouble with for some reason. You can't really see them in the photos posted here but I wanted the bars so you could see the monkeys as the wagon was being pulled along. I still might make some mods to it. @Captain Beerbeard - Glad you liked it! Hope I can get the next portion done soon! Got a busy week coming though -

Thanks for the replies, and glad you liked the wagons. I have had the Dark Red one built for about a month now but I was busy working on the embassy and didn't get around to building the other two until the other day. the wood paneled one came together surprisingly quick for me (less than an hour) and I am pretty happy with the way it came out. I meant to add some reins using string but I forgot for these photos. I might add another brown plate above the bars on the monkey wagon as well before the next build. I debated using the flesh torsos. I finally justified it by telling myself that the characters are wearing some sort of flesh colored undershirt. @legonardo davey, Lord Arlindus would be happy to have you as a guest in his lands. We'll see what see can do ;) As to the scene I have in mind, it is more story based than a complex build but I have some ideas for some nice details so I hope you all aren't disappointed.
