  1. I figure they'd do separate levels in that case. Something similar to the official ROTK game. After the first level of that game, the "level tree" started to split up. You had to select which of the levels you wanted to play, and if you completed that level you could go further in the selected character group's journey - so Gandalf's journey and that of the Hobbits were separated. If you did a level featuring Gandalf, then you couldn't go to the next Hobbit level, but just his. I don't know if they'll do it this way, because there would have to be many levels, but if they did it would make for a longer game, which should be good. If they don't do it like that, then I'm sure it will be fine regardless. ~ General Magma
  2. We don't know for certain if December won't hold any more LOTR sets for us... We do know, though, that an article said that "the next wave of LEGO LOTR will include sets from The Hobbit". Read carefully - it says "will include sets from The Hobbit", which might indicate that LOTR sets are to be released alongside that. Still some time to go until that's confirmed, though. ~ General Magma
  3. As far as I know, LEGO LOTR will be released for PC, it might just be this that either gets a 3DS and Wii U exclusive release, and otherwise we'll see it on more platforms sooner or later. ~ General Magma
  4. Both the trailer and the picture look very epic! Gonna be the best LEGO game ever, I tell ya. I'm just a bit afraid that the high amount of identical Mordor orcs shown on the poster might indicate that they're just doing one design for those orcs... but let's just hope there will be more variations of them. ~ General Magma
  5. Those work quite well, although I'm not so sure about the use of those torsos in large quantities. Rohan soldiers wore many different things, ranging mostly from chainmail armor to leather armor. I've used several things for my own Rohirrim as well, and I decided to start painting the helmets and some of the shields. Here's an example of one of my Rohirrim soldiers: (Click the picture for a better view - more LOTR pics in my photostream on Flickr) I have used the elf figure's legs on a different torso. (Much like the torso as shown above) This still makes me wonder if TLG is going to release different variations of the Rohan soldier, though. ~ General Magma
  6. Orcs were/are tan (dark tan too), brown (many different tints - dark orange should work for LEGO orcs too), red (or well, reddish, so like sand red), grey (both light and dark), green (various tints, so olive green and sand green should both work) and some were even sand blue. I seriously hope TLG considers the huge differences orcs have - The Orc Forge was just a start, but I hope we'll have different orcs in next waves. Perhaps one of the current ones in a set here and there, but we need lots of variation on the orcs. That would make them fantastic. Regarding the dwarves: I really hope we'll see all 13 in the first wave, but if not, I think they'd try to have 6/7 dwarves in wave 1 for The Hobbit, and 7/6 dwarves in wave 2. (Assuming that winter sets belong to The Hobbit, and summer sets to LOTR.) I also hope that Gollum (in a possible 'Gollum's Cave' set) will have a new expression instead of a re-use of the first version. Does anyone know when we should start expecting news on the sets for The Hobbit? ~ General Magma
  7. It's "LEGO" - case should've been closed on that already.. But more importantly, who actually cares? We all get what's meant by both terms, right? There are far bigger things to worry about. ~ General Magma
  8. You're lucky compared to us Dutch people. There's a chance that we'll have to wait til July.. Also, a Tom Bombadil figure isn't going to happen, I tell you now.. ~ General Magma
  9. Even if it may be unlikely, we could get an exclusive set this year, during fall - much like POTC's Black Pearl. Other than that, there are three possibilities for the next LOTR sets: they could either release an entire wave along with The Hobbit, or have one, two, maybe more mixed in with those, or else we'll see them the summer of next year again. News about The Black Pearl arose in February 2011, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for an exclusive LOTR set this year - but then again, I mentioned it because we haven't seen anything of SW's Palpatine's Arrest set either yet. TLG seems to be able to keep things under wrap much better nowadays, for some reason.. leaks don't arrive as fast as they used to. ~ General Magma
  10. TC-14 never had lots of screen time either in TPM, nor has there ever been an actual Shadow ARF trooper as far as I know, so the possibility could still be there, although a bit doubtful - but still. ~ General Magma
  11. I reckon we'd see him in a set somewhere, later on.. We might not see sets for 'The Last Alliance' (although I hope we will, it's just a bit doubtful), so perhaps they could do several promo figs in a row. This would only work if we wouldn't get a Last Alliance set, but they could do a minifig of Sauron in full armor (large figure like Toy Story), Elrond in armor, and an armored elf to go along with them. (I hope the elf would be easiest to get if they did this, so having multiples would be very possible) Would still prefer a set, though this could work for promo figures. If not, then perhaps different variations of other figures. (Haradrim, orcs, Rohirrim, name 'em..) ~ General Magma
  12. There's a chance of that, especially if this becomes LEGO's next best seller. The superhero theme is already getting them and that's pretty much a major theme, so who knows... I'm not sure what they could use for promotional figures then, though, but some kind of special orc or something could work then.. As long as it's generic enough to have another version of in sets - but not stuff like Royal Guards of Rohan, otherwise they wouldn't be available in sets either. ~ General Magma
  13. Okay, that's been confirmed then - brace yourselves for 10 more waves of LOTR sets. I'm a bit confused why they added...flick-fire rocks(?) to the Weathertop set, but okay... I don't really care about play features in sets, but they should've had one involving the throwing of a torch at one of the Nazgûl in that set. Would've been better than flick-fire rocks, I suppose... ~ General Magma
  14. I believe TLG already stated that it is hard to do and that we're not likely to see any transparent figures, or at least not anytime soon. The Spongebob sets have a Flying Dutchman figure, who was supposed to be transparent, and that one was just green...no transparency at all. I'm sure that we're not going to see "invisible Frodo" as a figure, and the Army of the Dead's ghost figs will/would just be some kind of green color mixed with others. ~ General Magma
  15. Not available in The Netherlands... Oh well, they're worth waiting for... let's hope they'll be here soon too, although one of my local stores responded with the release date of the LOTR for us Dutch people here to (probably) be around July.. ~ General Magma.
  16. There are some nice ideas around here. I'm not sure what kind of battlepacks TLG would actually do, but I'm not sure if they would do some for just one side. Also, for those who might be interested, I still have a large list of ideas all the way on the top of page 2. Hopefully someone from TLG shows up here to take some ideas.. ~ General Magma
  17. I doubt that's a new sword. Instead, I'm pretty sure that it's a production error. I mean, why have pointy swords everywhere only to give Boromir this rounded sword? You're not going to kill many orcs with a blunt sword! Also, how does not having seen a classic LEGO skeleton make someone an idiot? Are people who haven't seen them not allowed to make reviews..? ~ General Magma
  18. You don't even need castle walls - ordinary pieces, mostly in light grey, should do. I also don't remember seeing many farm animals.. I have used many figure parts from previous castle themes (and other themes too) for my own custom orcs and Rohirrim soldiers though, but there's always Bricklink if you want the kind of variation I went for. If not, the LOTR sets alone should probably work too. ~ General Magma
  19. Toys'R'Us listed the LOTR sets (overpriced they were, too) a few days ago, and they were ready for shipment. Soon thereafter they were sold out already... that proves how much this theme will sell in the near future, so I doubt it'd have any problems co-existing with another non-licensed castle theme, but they shouldn't take the risk for the first few waves yet, imo. ~ General Magma
  20. I doubt we'll know before the end of the year... the next wave of Middle-Earth sets puts The Hobbit in the spotlights. ~ General Magma
  21. I dislike action figures and so I dislike these. The concepts and designs may be good to people, but, that's just not LEGO to me. Just like those superhero figures TLG released.. ~ General Magma
  22. Those figures look great! Thanks for the pics. The only one I'm a bit skeptic about is Gandalf - I'd want to change his hat to sand blue and give him hair as well. Other than that he's just great. Also, I don't know if anyone else has seen news of the leak, but the LEGO LOTR videogame is scheduled for release on October 26th of this year. ~ General Magma
  23. The Dark Knight: The Batpod's Pursuit Minifigs: Batman (TDK), The Joker (TDK), Harvey Dent (non-Two Face), The Joker's thug. Components and scenery: The Batpod, The Joker's truck (the one that flipped over in the movie) and probably some lamps and scenery that can be broken by the truck. (For the set's possible play features) Size: Medium. Extra information: Could have one other figure. Other than that, none. A set of the Tumbler (Batmobile in the movie) could work as well, and I'm hoping for TDKR sets in 2013. 'The Bat' (from TDKR) with at least Batman and Catwoman could make a good set as well. ~ General Magma
  24. Saw this movie a few days ago. It was great, had good action and it had some hilarious parts around, even if the story may be a bit cliche. Overall, a very fun and enjoyable movie. ~ General Magma
  25. So does nobody think we might see TDKR sets in LEGO's first wave of next year? I believe we did see TDK sets some years ago, around 2008 (although I doubt they were accurate as far as I remember, but still), and we're getting LOTR now too - if you count some other licenses we've had, why wouldn't we get TDKR sets? Seems possible to me, at least. We already had the TDKR Batman figure (although exclusive) as a promotional figure at the Comic Con thing last year. Seems a bit of a sign to me that we could expect TDKR sets coming along the way, too. ~ General Magma
