Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
General Magma replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well, the episode that airs on the second of March is supposed to have him in it - the one that appears after 'Massacre'. I remember reading this somewhere. I was hoping to see 'Massacre' this week, but oh well. This preview was longer than usual previews. ~ General Magma -
All of these look truly amazing. No words have ever gone into existence that can describe the epicness of all this to its fullest. Even those reversible heads are amazing too and highly add up to the detail, and all the detail they put into this... man. It's clear; LOTR is the new crown jewel of all LEGO themes, best of the best... The only thing I wasn't sure about was the Uruk-hai berserker with his helmet printed on the head, but it's fine nonetheless. Still fantastic. Continue this line, LEGO, and you'll have all my money. ~ General Magma

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the links. They all look great, but the best figure of the SW ones has to be Darth Malgus for me! TLC did a geat job on him. Not sure about the shape of the front of the Sith Trooper helmets, though. ~ General Magma -

When did I ever say it didn't make sense? I only found it to be strange. And we're not speaking of a regular human here, we're speaking of a Force-sensitive Zabrak. Zabraks have an ability to resist pain. ~ General Magma -

That was rather.. strange... seeing Darth Maul go insane was, as well. But regardless, I look forward to those episodes more than the rest of 'em. ~ General Magma -
Monster Fighters 2012
General Magma replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh dear, I don't know what to do right now. These sets look nice and I think of getting those later on, but the entire LOTR theme plus some of this would be very expensive. Dunno why, but this theme actually caught my interest. The man-bat figures look nice, and so do the others. It's a fantastic year for LEGO then, it seems - but not much of a fantastic year for the people's wallets. Still having doubts about buying these with a limited amount of money for LEGO when I also want all of the LOTR sets.. but the sets are still nice anyhow. ~ General Magma -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The blaster pistol is the small one that was introduced in the Mandalorian battlepack and has a black lightsaber handle on the end, plus Boba Fett's legs are clearly printed. These look great so far, but I want to see the SWTOR sets. Not sure if I can buy much with LOTR 'n all, but I hope the rest of the figures are good as well. Also, has anybody noticed that Boba now has 2 capes? I don't really get why they did that, but it must've been a mistake... Mistake number ...? I lost count.. ~ General Magma -
It's obvious that those pics are preliminary, you even mention it yourself yet you forget about it somehow. The more recent ToyFair pictures show a different horse. ~ General Magma
-
Enough people have confirmed that the hind legs are articulated, and thus can be placed like that. No old horse in the set. ~ General Magma

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Is it that they are only allowed to film those things, or could they have done the rest as well? Now we still haven't seen many new things, and worst of all they decided not to show anything of LOTR at all.. Any chance that we could see some more pictures from people, or perhaps videos, before the ToyFair ends, or are only appointed people allowed to do that? Out of the 2012 SW sets, I'm mostly interested in seeing the Fury Class interceptor, but especially Darth Malgus. ~ General Magma -
Says who? There have been so many figures with back printing that wasn't even visible at all, because of capes, head molds or other accessories. He may have a quiver, but I'm very sure they'll add back printing to him - I mean, look at newer licensed themes of nowadays. For example, I can't think of any figure from POTC without a back printing - I believe that most, if not all of the figures in that theme use back printing. Even Jack Sparrow whose hairpiece covers up most of his back had it, or Elizabeth Swann, for example. With this said - I wouldn't drop your hopes for a back printing on him. ~ General Magma

The only thing that's gold on Eomer's helmet are the markings, the rest is silver. (Or in this case, metallic/pearl grey) I think the one with the quiver doesn't have a cape, so I'm pretty sure that's Eomer. He might have a quiver, but who says the people who set up the displays didn't make a mistake? They've made plenty of mistakes in the past few years, and they might not even know who Eomer is, so they've just put it there while assuming it was the soldier - quite sure of that. Another detail to show that it's more likely to be Eomer who's sitting on that horse is that he doesn't appear to have a cape. At least, it seems so, although I can spot something dark green. ~ General Magma

Eh, the figures we've seen so far look fantastic, I can't really understand what makes you worried about it. I'm sure all other figures will look great as well. 8 days to go 'til we know, unless someone (hopefully) decides to take some close-up pics of everything else before the German ToyFair ends, and shows it here. ~ General Magma
-
Where are you seeing this? If you mean the figure on the wall - that's not Eomer, that's a Royal Guard of Rohan, with a golden helmet. Eomer has one in pearl grey. Although I'm not 100% sure if it's a Royal Guard instead of a regular Rohirrim soldier, I'm almost certain of it being one. ~ General Magma
-
I'm sure he does - it wouldn't make any sense to just print his armor decoration on his torso, since that would just be inaccurate and makes his armor look way too thin. I hope they'll make a new armor-piece for him, but I kind of doubt that.. Eomer, Theoden and the Rohirrim soldier (Royal Guard) would be much better if they used three different helmets with their own unique, accurate designs, instead of re-using the same helmet for all 3 figures. They have quite alot of differences in the movies - so let's hope they'll go for different helmets. ~ General Magma

I hope not, the lighter version is an accurate rendition of one of the Nazgûl swords, whether it be a longsword or a Morgul blade: Nazgûl Blade (click) As you can see, the sword's color is more of a pearl light grey color. There were 3 main weapons the 'regular' Nazgûl would use, but their blades were all this lighter color. Only the hilts used dark colors, but I can't see TLC doing a multi-colored sword for the Nazgûl while it already works well this way. So, the color on the sword is accurate this way. Correct me if I'm wrong, though, but AFAIK there are at least 3 swords the Nazgûl used in pearl light grey colors. (Actually a bit more like silver, but oh well) The Nazgûl figures now only need grey gloves, but Boromir and Gimli both need gloves as well. That can easily be changed, though. ~ General Magma

It starts on that date, indeed - and it will run from then until the 15th of February.. Which means that if we're not getting more pics from the German ToyFair, we'll have to wait for another 8 days. ~ General Magma

You're a bit late - we saw that a couple of weeks ago, I believe. Regarding the horse in 'Gandalf Arrives' - it seemed like a pony to me as it was so small. It could probably be a horse as well, but it seemed strange to me that it was about the size of Frodo when speaking of height. ~ General Magma
-
I think that could be very possible. Would also be a good idea on TLC's part (other than keeping the old heads so they go well with all LEGO system horses), since the horses have kind of an angrier look that way. I just hope that the eyes will be red on the Nazgûl's horses. ~ General Magma

Has anybody noticed how Eomer and the Rohirrim soldier both use the same helmet, or at least similar ones? Perhaps we're getting a Royal Guard of Rohan in the set, since Eomer's helmet and theirs are very similar to each other. Regular Rohirrim soldiers have quite a lot of different helmets, but can easily be made with existing pieces, so it would be fantastic if we'ld be getting a Royal Guard of Rohan in the 'Uruk-hai Army' set. ~ General Magma

'Gandalf Arrives' is part of a scene, with few needed components for that area. But if they make Amon Hen, I can't see them just putting in a few trees with Boromir and Lurtz, that would be a waste of set potential. For Amon Hen, there would be one set, and they would most likely feature some kind of ruined building, (the one we saw in the movie where Frodo left to escape, and where Aragorn started the battle against the Uruk-hai) to add to it. Same story for Eowyn versus the Witch-king of Angmar; why the hobbit would they just throw in those two figures and something like a rock for one set, while the scene included more than that? (i.e., the Witch-king's fell beast, which could already make the set cost about $20-30 on its own) Gandalf versus Saruman is the same kind of story, it wouldn't be those two figures in one set - it would be the Tower of Orthanc, with Saruman, Gandalf and various other characters. I don't mind if you disagree, but to me, the things I am saying make more sense - they wouldn't ruin the potential to have a good set by having one with two main characters and something like a tree, nor would they ruin the chances to get lots more money from putting some more larger sets on the market, with the same figures included. Besides, who would want an army of Sarumans and Gandalfs? ~ General Magma

These look amazing, looking forward to some good close-ups. And it looks like there's a new pony in the 'Gandalf Arrives' set! It's quite obvious that it's not a horse, since it's roughly the size of Frodo. (Height) The pony's legs are shorter as well, so that's another new mold we can take into note, then. I just hope the horse's heads are not entirely new, though, or else not very different from the old ones. This is because of all the old horses I have, but then again.. I'm giving the old horses I have a helmet so it won't be hard to hide the old one's heads to effectively use them along with the new ones. And, is that a new 'half of a carrot' piece I spot? Look at Merry's hand and you'll know what I mean. And I'm sure that Sting is a new mold, whereas Merry uses the gladiator sword in the Weathertop set. And now, after a look at those Uruk-hai, it's confirmed that they use pearl dark grey armor. Much better - I feared that they were planning to use dark bluish grey. Shelob looks pretty great, but I just hope they'll change the wires to white.. Black would be very inaccurate. Hopefully someone will jump in here and show us some good close-ups of every set, I'm not sure if I can wait for another week.. For that, we're getting the 'Uruk-hai Attack' set. ~ General Magma

You really missed quite alot... We've known those for at least one and a half month by now, and the first prelim pictures came out shortly after that, but oh well. Anyways, I'm quite disappointed with the photo-ban. That's another 2 weeks of waiting for us... I've just got to hope that Frodo does not appear like that in the Shelob set.. I mean, what, has Shelob lost the ability to make spiderwebs and decided to wrap him up with computer cables or something? ~ General Magma

The best color for his hat would've been sand blue. Actually, I'm quite sure that's exactly the color. Not sure why they made it dark grey, but oh well. The only way to fix it is to brasso a sand blue hat from 2007's castle impulse set. I really hope that they are reading this and decide to change the color to sand blue after all, last moment or not. And Gimli's beard needs to stay dark orange... ~ General Magma

It surely could've been nice, but on the other hand, I don't believe LEGO has ever printed feet before. Maybe shoes, boots, sandals and whatnot on figures like the collectible ones, but no feet, and I'm not sure how that would work since TLC never seems to print the back and sides (with the exception of some collectible figures as for the sides) on legs, so I doubt it would look better than what we have now. The orcs look fantastic but I hope that there will be different variations for Mordor orcs, and the others. Not a lot of orcs seemed to have had hair in the movies, so I hope we'll see some bald ones with ears in the future too, and not 3 times the same orc in Orc Forge. ~ General Magma
