  1. Would having only the plates on the sides (without the cheese slopes or anything else on them) be permitted, or would that have to go as well? Just to be sure, before I try to re-do all of the base
  2. It's something like this (just an example of the kind of overhang - the 2x2 grey plate represents the edge of the 8x8 base, and the 1x2 olive green plate demonstrates how it fits within the maximum of 2 studs)
  3. I'm building something on a base that is 8x8, but as part of the base, I have some overhang (SNOT on brackets). The sections with overhang are as thick as one plate on its side plus the half-plate width of the bracket, and some bits have cheese slopes coming out of the side of the base (and these cheese slopes are also on their sides). Would I be allowed to do things like this up to a maximum of 2 studs overhang? (2 studs being 2 studs flat on the ground)
  4. I remember seeing this way back then. The Middle-Earth themes may now be over, but let's make sure it will live on through the fanbase... and you sure are contributing to that! Looks great so far. Also, that's an interesting & inexpensive torso to use for the armoured Lothlorien elves. Well either way, keep it up, looking forward to the end result - and don't drink too many studs!
  5. Yeah, that's the kind, I think. Caliban green? It was some kind of spray paint, at least. Black RIT dye - are there any specific types of RIT dye or just one kind and that's the one I should go for?
  6. Awesome. I love the way they developed Kallus, great episode!
  7. I want to spray paint several dozens of my flower stem pieces into a dark green colour. But now I'm wondering what kind of spray paint would work best for this, and what I'll have to do in order to prepare the pieces to make sure the spray paint stays on, even after rubbing things up or whatever. I've been looking at Caliban green from Citadel - not sure if it's approximately like LEGO dark green, but I think the colour should be fine for it. Has anybody attempted this, or does anyone know what material the flower stem pieces are made of exactly, or how to do any of this? They're more flexible than normal ABS pieces, so it might be a different material. Thanks in advance.
  8. Thank you! Glad you like them. And indeed, it's all paint.
  9. This is so, so awesome. It even makes me want to do some LEGO Town stuff again! Though I know it would cost quite a little fortune to make anything like these with real bricks.
  10. Out of all the official figures I've got, these are my favourites: - Darth Malgus [Old Republic Sith Fury Class Interceptor, still one of the best figures ever made!] - C-3PO [The Force Awakens polybag edition, the most detailed C-3PO figure to date, I just love the look of it.] - Darth Revan [i already love the fact they even made a figure of him in the first place, so add to that the way they nailed his design, fantastic.] - All of my Rodian figures [i just love all the different alien species in Star Wars, and the Rodians are certainly no exception!] - Ithorian Jedi Master [Fair enough, I bricklinked one pair of legs and half a dozen Ithorian heads, but I say it still counts since, again, it's all about the alien species himself, which is among my favourite Star Wars species] - Jawas [The old ones from the first Sandcrawler, mind you. The new ones simply have eyes that are far too large!] - Old Republic Republic troopers [The best looking Star Wars LEGO troopers, in my opinion!] - Bossk [What can I say? I like Trandoshans...] - Bith figures [Another one of the many, many Star Wars species I love, and their minifigures don't deserve any less of that.] - Old Republic Sith troopers [Also among my favourite LEGO troopers.] - Boba Fett [from the 2010 Slave I, since I don't have the more recent ones, which would otherwise qualify.] - Starkiller [from the Rogue Shadow set, I remember it as being one of my most favourite figures back in the days and I still think it's a cool figure. I remember tinkering around with Force Unleashed stuff for many hours in its early months..] - Battle damaged Darth Vader [Also from the Rogue Shadow set, a very unique Darth Vader minifigure.] - Chrome Darth Vader [it's Darth Vader... and it's chrome, need I say more?] - AT-AT driver [2015 edition from the mini walker set, there's something about the colour scheme that looks awesome and works well on the stormtrooper-ish AT-AT driver helmet, it also just looks and feels retro, which is all too nice!]
  11. It's time for some figures I haven't made before - the orcs of Moria! Enjoy, and let me know if you like these. To begin with, a batch of four Moria orcs, followed by one Moria orc swordsman with a fully sculpted helmet! All of these are fully painted (save for the hands), with custom sculpts for the hair and ears (or, for the fifth one; helmet, hair & ears) Orcs of Moria - #1 Moria Orc Swordsman If you'd like to leave a comment or a fave on any of these Flickr, or see more of my photostream, follow either of these links: https://www.flickr.c...02/25079754771/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/43303352@N02/25151005526/in/photostream/
  12. Which one of the helmet add-ons do you mean? Either way, they were all made using Citadel's "green stuff".
  13. Depends if someone would be OK with painting things. I've recently made two groups of Rohirrirm soldiers, they're at the bottom of this page: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72967&st=25 I made custom helmets, painted arms, legs and heads (and torsos, for some), so unless you're a purist, I think that kind of customization would be best for Rohirrim. It would also be easier to apply lots of diversity to them that way.
  14. Fleshify the knight, give him a spear or an axe (and optionally, a shield), a new helmet, remove the pauldrons, add a green cape and I say it would be a fairly decent soldier of Rohan. The main problem I'd have with it would be the fact that Rohirrim usually have more of an olive green colour scheme, though if you have one or two in a collection of mostly-olive-green soldiers, it would probably be fine.
  15. Those are likely to be among my next few custom projects!
  16. If you're interested in seeing custom LOTR figures, come take a look at my topic, where I started posting again a while back. Most recently, two batches of Rohirrim soldier (the most recent one pictured here); I'm also looking for ideas and suggestions for which LOTR character(s) to make next, whether they're very obscure ones or better known ones, and any generic soldiers without a decided uniform would be fine too, it doesn't really matter. I want to fill up as many gaps in the LOTR minifig selection as possible and maybe even create every single named character from the three LOTR films.
  17. Rather quickly after the first batch, which was posted a mere three days ago (as of the time of writing this), I finished these today, and thus I present to you my newest batch of Rohirrim! Soldiers of Rohan - #4 And an extra side-shot of the archer to the far left, to show the horse decoration helmet add-on from the side:
  18. Actually, lots of people were discussing the possibility of that ending up being the UCS Hoth set... but it's still funny they showed us literally the exact set half a year prior to the release of the first image.
  19. Thanks! Yeah, that one's my favourite out of that batch as well.
  20. Thank you! I'm not sure about them being a little too "diverse", I personally like the diversity and variety very much, but I'll see if I can implement some of that into future orcs. And hereby I present to you, a fresh batch of Rohirrim soldiers... custom work all around! I even sculpted and then painted a custom helmet plus beard for the middle soldier. They're my favourites out of all my Rohirrim so far. Enjoy! Soldiers of Rohan - #3
  21. We're gonna have to wait for 3rd party vendors to release the items that we need for Gondorian soldiers. I guess something like a brickbuilt Mumak with figures of Frodo (new expression, printed feet), Sam (new expression, printed feet), Gollum (new expression), Faramir, Madril, some Haradrim and maybe another Ranger of Ithilien could be submitted to Ideas and might have a better chance of being approved than the other proposed sets. Not a minifig scale one, but a brickbuilt Mumak that wouldn't be too large for a $60 set that may also have a few trees, a hiding spot and a cooking pot included. No new moulds would be required, but you do get a Mumak for the people who don't want to build one themselves, new versions of Frodo, Sam and Gollum, small legs with printed hobbit feet, Rangers of Ithilien and Haradrim soldiers with cool new prints, and Faramir and Madril. Then you would have something for army builders who want Haradrim soldiers and Faramir's rangers, generic figures we haven't had before, along with an iconic beast and three of the main characters, a couple of missing named characters, and plenty of play features. Something for everyone, I would say!
  22. So is there any more information on who the silver protocol droid figure in the advent calendar is supposed to represent?
  23. A Jedi never had to be a Jedi Master in order to have a Padawan - you had to be at least a Knight in order to be able to have a Padawan. Heck, you needed to have had a Padawan and successfully trained them to the rank of Jedi Knight in order to even become a Master, which furthermore adds to the reason that Anakin never got to become a Master - he never finished Ahsoka's training. Ahsoka was a perfectly fitting character for this. I suggest you get your knowledge of the lore right before you make assumptions about things like this and declare them to be untrue to established in-universe facts, even though they've never been untrue to those facts. So with that said, I'm looking forward to seeing an Ahsoka minifigure pop up in one of the new Rebels sets. When she was first introduced, I despised the character, but she's clearly had lots of character development and is an all-round better character now. I'm no fan of true Mary Sues, but these type of complaints always seem to be aimed at female characters, even though they are one of many characters with special powers in the Star Wars galaxy. A female (a Force user, at that) who is very competent? Blasphemy, that's a Mary Sue! And when it's a male character... "Well he's just a badass!"... Nobody ever complained when an untrained Luke perfectly guided a proton torpedo into a tiny exhaust port in the Death Star using the Force.
  24. Before you know it, they'll start asking sixty portions for one set!
  25. Fair enough, Deathleech, but we shall see. You're kicking yourself for buying 20? Try having only bought one of them... I still need lots more Uruks!
