Hi all! A friend of mine and I are busy with a huge layout which will be fully automated. It will contain 3 stations on which trains can depart and arrive. It also will have a crossing where trains stop for each other. The trains that are stopped at the station are "parked" on a side track, using motorized switches. The switches will also contain a sensor to make sure that the switch isn't flipped when a train runs over it. The whole thing will be set up on the 17th/18th of May since my girlfiend isn't home then so we can clear out the living room After some thinking we came up with this layout. It's a continious loop and it should be big enough to make 5 or 6 trains run at once. The whole automation part is done by an Arduino and some electronics, so the first step was to design the cable layout to get an idea how long the cables needed to be and stuff like that: I'm now busy with setting up the electronics: voltage regulators for 5V (for the sensors) and 9V (for the motors of the switches) : And ofcourse, the trains can't wait to run on the track! Please note the 4512: I came one passenger train short so I've built a few passenger cars for in 4512 style

What is The Best 9v Train to Start With?
AlmightyArjen replied to Wolfcraft's topic in LEGO Train Tech
And if you want a bit more "modern" style 9V train which looks more like the PF trains, you could look at the 4512 cargo train -
Combining the futuron monorail with a 7745 passenger train

Thanks for the compliments! For those interested, I've made an additional video, since I had made about 30 minutes of video material -
Is there any way to get the new train sets before August? or do I really have to wait THAT long?? I remember that the first review videos of the horizon express were online, like a month before it was for sale. How did they get the set that fast??

that was me and indeed: I'd buy also this serie! They are really awesome! I like the size of the wing defender and that it still holds a rocket, great job!

Really nice designs!! But I think the base is a bit empty. The building is good, but it needs some more spacey thingies ;)

At bricklink you are only the seller of the model, not the bricks. As bricklink knows which parts are in the model, Bricklink searches for the sellers inside the bricklink environment and gives a list to the buyer where he can find the parts. It's a system that's just new, kinda cool!

Where can I buy these? Seriously: you should put them on the new Bricklink MOC page!

Combining the futuron monorail with a 7745 passenger train
AlmightyArjen replied to AlmightyArjen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yes an extra wagon was attached to the back of the train with a beam of about 10 studs. On that wagon I had installed a turntable with an Action Cam and a motor. Behind that there was another car with the battery box and the IR receiver. In that way I could turn the camera around while the train was riding :) -
Hi guys, A while ago I started to design a Space Train based on the Futuron Monorail. With the help of the Train Tech guys it has become a very nice thingie! Space train Space train Space train! Since not all of you sci-fi dudes hang around in Train Tech, I have opened this topic to make sure you won't miss it! Enjoy! If you're curious in the original design topic, have look here: http://www.eurobrick...opic=91438&st=0

A Classic Space city.. I like the idea! But not if TLG comes with Modular Buidlings in CS colours or something like that. Next to that: was Classic Space not already a bit like a city when you had a few bases? That was more like an industrial complex I guess. Living quarters in the form of domes and stuff would be nice...

Everyone loves the sets which they grow up with, no doubt... But in the 80/90's there were far more side structures and it was a complete theme. That's what I love about Lego Train theme from that time. Now it's just some trains and a station. Having said that: I never got the side structures when I was a kid (and I wasn't the only one), so I understand why TLG won't go in that direction...

I imagine an AFOL who loves trains that got into a coma in the 80's and wakes up in these days. His first reaction when seeing the train page in the (digital) Lego catalog would be: "well... that's dissapointing... "

Very cool initiative! Will you producing plastic OR metal? or both when there's enough people who are interested in both?

Which Cuusoo set do you mean? This one? It's a nice design, but I miss the WOW factor. Benny's spaceship for example has more tubes and thingies that makes it a real spaceship...

Combining the futuron monorail with a 7745 passenger train

I guess the track will be something like this. I ordered a lot of 2x4 and 1x2 plates: I think it looks pretty nice! I'll shoot a video when I have time, with all my space sets :) -
We must not forget that the most people posting here grew up with classic space. As with all sets that you grew up with: they have something special. So in our eyes Classic Space rocks, but does it rock also as a new theme for the current kids? Difficult question...

This is so awesome! This just combines and completes everything, well done!! This is the reason why M-Tron, Blacktron, Futuron and Space Police should be rebooted: you can make really nice stories with them!
