  1. How strange. Like I said above, the only way we can confirm anything will be to compare them side by side, 'in the flesh.'
  2. I suppose we will just have to wait until they come out, and someone has the mini figures in the flesh.
  3. +1 Put Eowyn and Faramir in a team pack. Vehicles could be a horse and a trebuchet.
  4. Yes, he is. Look at the Hobbit version. That one has a little dimple thingy on his chin. Now look at the one in the pack. Not the artwork, but the one on the box. There's no dimple. That means it's a new print, even if it looks almost identical. Glad you agree regarding Smeagol. That would be wonderful. The fact that they are even making new prints gives me faint hope for Eowyn and Faramir packs, maybe even Denethor. The Witch-King, Sauron, and Elendil/Isildur are way less likely, since they need new molds.
  5. Wow. The architecture is just amazing. There's no way I wouldn't buy that set. Can we expect more waves in the future?
  6. Taking a close look, all three have new face prints, IMO. Edit: While I am ecstatic that we might be getting new figures, long after the theme is dead, I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get a 'Smeagol' face for Gollum. Yeah, I'm really looking a gift-horse in the mouth. I'll shut up now.
  7. If you look closely at the box cover, it shows Gandalf, Wildstyle, and Batman in Middle Earth. Argonath and Barad'Dur are visible in the background. There's also a shot of the Riddler riding the Balrog... Edit: I wonder what vehicles Legolas, Gimli, and Gollum will get.
  8. Exactly. They even cancled the video game dlc for the third movie.
  9. Why? Just why? http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/03/16/warner-bros-cancels-lego-the-hobbits-five-armies-dlc
  10. +1 Molded Fell Beast. It would look better, and would be consistant with the rest of the line, i.e. Eagles, Wargs, Smaug. Well...if you switch the tower to the other side, it could pass for the citadel in a twisted, lego-y way.
  11. You have produced another amazing build, which I would buy in a heartbeat. I love the arcitechture on the tower. Keep up the great work. :)
  12. What a charming little microubild. I love it. Great work.
  13. What an adorable little bee. I love it.
  14. Ah, this thread is still alive! Nice work, Nuju. The frost dragon looks nice and unique, different from your other dragons. The placement of the horns is particularly aesthiticly pleasing.
  15. This scene always gives me the shivers. Wonderful job of interpreting it. Now, all we need is the arrival of Rohan.
  16. He's doing it again. Be prepared to have you mind blown by what a fantasy lego theme should look like. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105645
  17. It's not perfect, but the sets in general, especially the first wave, capture a design asthetic and atmosphere that I want to see from a Lego fantasy line.
  18. My ideal castle line would be something like Nuju Metru's Dragon Lands theme. His mocs have a lovely design asthetic, and a good mix of characters and army builders. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=98233 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=100353/ I would buy every one of those modles in a heart beat.
  19. I'm not sure if anyone's said this yet, but I hope the final product comes with Eve and M-O
  20. Let me put it another way. Which would a kid rather buy? Eowyn vs. a bunch of orcs, or Eowyn vs. the Witch-King They are going to chose the Witch King, because A) that's what they remember, and B) a bunch of orcs are no match for Eowyn. Similarly with Moria, which are the kids going to want: Fellowship vs. a bunch of orcs, or Fellowship vs. a Cave Troll. Orcs are no match for the Fellowship. In a kid's mind there is no way that would ever be a fair fight. A Cave Troll on the other hand, is a big, tough boss monster, which really makes an impression when you see it. Kids are always going want the big, memorable bosses, not the stupid minions with no fighting skills. As for the multiple Gandalfs and Gimlis, most kids aren't going to get every single set in the entire line up. If they only included each character in a single set, then that character will be unavailable to the vast majority of the target demographic.
  21. Most kids probably don't want to recreate the massive battles in the movies, they probably want more character driven action. Ask a kid which he would want more as a Lego set: Eowyn vs. the Witch King, or Two big armies of nameless Orcs and Gondor soldiers. He's going to chose Eowyn vs. Witch King, because that story is more exciting for them. Same thing with Moria. The main focus of that scene is the fight with the cave troll, so as long as that figure is included, kids will want that set. You compare LotR to Chima, but Chima has the same premise: Most of the sets are character driven. There is not a lot of army building involved.
  22. Very nice work Lauris. It would be interesting to see what a whole castle made with this technique (pun intended) would look like.
  23. Eowyn, Faramir, and Denathor could easily be achieved with existing molds, but we need new molds for the Witch-King, Gondor soldiers, and a most other figures we would want.
  24. They probably chose the shade of blue to add more color to the figure. Dark gray might have ended up being too dull and colorless.
  25. I already added Bilbo with his Mithril shirt, look in the fourth list. Bombur is also in there somewhere. That means there are seven more dwarves. Add the eight dwarves in battle armor, and that leaves us one short of a complete series. That slot can be filled with another Nazgul. I'll be back in a few minutes with the finalized list. Edit: It's up. That leaves the Laketown and Erebor casual costumes, and the six remaining Nazgul, a total of 32 minifigures. That's exactly two more series.
