  1. I'm wondering about the 2 cannons in the back of the ship. Won't give that trouble to the room in the captain's cabin? I think it's better to remove them and give them a place on the broadsides. Or the captain has to eat his meal on the cannons as table.
  2. Incredebly nice army! I love the battlescenes too. It all looks very realistic. Props to the builder!
  3. Ah, I was already wondering about the gap between the gundeck and the top deck.
  4. WHAT did you say there? Also a lot of Americans in the time of the American war of Independance, English sailors gone mad and sail under false flag. And the Chinese waters were crowded with pirates. They came from Singapore and from the countless little islands in the Asian waters. LEGO Pirates can have every nationality in my opinion.
  5. We had a lot of discussions about this subject a few months ago. In there became clear the Bluecoats are French, Redcoat British and Armada Spanish. On a side note it is what LEGO is, imagination! So Bluecoats can be used for British too, it's just how you like it. My personal opinion: Bluecoats are French Redcoats are British Armada guys are Spanish Islanders are .... Islanders! I bet you didn't know that one!
  6. Thanks for bringing out another episode! It is always very interesting to read about other member's LEGO tales. Captain Green Hair has a very interesting story about his LEGO hobby history and his role in the forums. I recognize some things in myself too. We are both from Holland, and in Holland we ALL love beer! Now I'm eager to see the next episode! Who is it going to be this time?
  7. This ship looks great so far. I like the colours, but I should also place gunports in black before the holes to break the pale red colour. I'm curious about how the stern is going to look like. Unfortunately I see this ship sails for the Redcoats so we Bluecoats are forced to sink it when we meet at sea. Keep it up!
  8. This looks great! The colours are very nice! The only thing I don't like is the tan mast, are you going to change it to a black one? That looks much better. I also like the decks and the stern is coming along nicely. Keep it up!
  9. I am sure I have seen this somewhere else before. Where did the monkeys go? Or did they grow into redcoats? I like this fortress a lot. It really has the classic LEGO pirates feel over it, but with some modern accents. The fort looks quite well equipped with cannons, and everything likes to be functional. I like the large crane too. Everything together makes it a really nice fort, I have to watch out with my ships sailing not too close to this fortress.
  10. I'm impressed by your building skills! It's very detailed everywhere. The throneroom looks great and the village is even better. The story is very funny too, but I'm wondering how to live with a frog-king. He can't returned back to a human anymore. I'm looking forward to your upcoming creations! Keep it up!
  11. Hello there! I don't know if this has been posted before but it's never too late to try. I've found this when I was uploading pics to Brickshelf. And I thought perhaps you guys would like it. Enjoy! Overview. And the back of the castle. More pictures are on Brickshelf!
  12. I love it! Especially the differences between the 'good and evil side'. I also like the boiling oil streaming down the cliffs and burns holes in the ground. The MOC is really lively and full of action. Really good job and good luck on the contest!
  13. I like this kind of game, and it looks quite good too. I don't know if you know the Anno 1701 game but that game inspired me a lot. Thanks for "reviewing" this game!
  14. On land, perhaps yes. But at sea... And remember, our forces are growing! Ships, armies, forts... My men are laughing too at the hundred plus redcoats standing at the shores having no sealegs. At least I haven't seen them on a ship before.
  15. Small texture glitch I think. I like the update, it looks much more accurate now. I am not too fond of the ground colour though, are you planning to change that? Good luck further with the build!
  16. You've got a very good point there, I think it's better to keep 'em. I'm only wondering what I have to do with my old Bluecoats when the new ones arrive. Although, I have a drastic change in my armies: I need marines to protect my ship from enemy boarding attempts, so I'm planning to remove the shako's from my men and add tricorners or top hats to them so they fit on board. No Redcoat ship has a chance during a boarding when they discover my ship is filled with well-trained marines.
  17. Nice creation!! I love all the action going on, the hand to hand combat, the magic... And of course the forest looks great too. I like the river, the foliage and the large tree. It's huuuge! And did I spot Hinckley with a baguette?
  18. Is that enough to fill your Prins Willem? I think you need a few more.
  19. And so is the captain here! I'm wondering if it is a good idea to sell my old bluecoats now they are expensive, and with that money I can buy the new Bluecoats, IF they are being released. I think I won't use my current Bluecoats if I have the new ones, and I also think they become pretty cheap.
  20. How dare you! I like the custom minifig! I don't exactly know who she is, but I know she looks very creepy! The katana is nice too. I especially like... well I like everything about it.
  21. Looks funny Master Ewok! The MOC is simply designed, yet very good too. The palm tree is a nice touch, but hey, where did that barrel came from?
  22. Thanks Commodore Hornbricker! I think this is a very good entry in the contest! It is really funny with all the monkeys in there. The fort is really well built, it has the real classic pirates feel over it. I love the monkeys flying out of the cannon, the smoke coming out of the barrels is nice too. Good job!!
  23. I hope this is what you mean: It's an odd piece of clothing though.
  24. All you really need for a MOC are parts and being creative! The first is easily solved by buying sets or bricks from BrickLink for example. The second is a thing based on experience from previous MOCs and inspiration. Think about what you're going to build, a tavern for example. Then watch some images from taverns on the internet to get inspiration. Also MOCs from other members will help a lot. Check out the indexes to find MOCs made by the members here. This is the way I get inspiration, I hope this might help! Have fun building!
  25. 22 old shooting cannons. Sixteen of them are in the Le Formidable and 3 on the shores, the rest is waiting in a box. I have 10 brown, 2 green and 10 red carriages. Today or tomorrow I will order the cannons for my new ship, which are 32 new cannons with red carriages. The cannons on the top deck will be brick build since TLC has no smaller cannons. So about a week or 2 I have 54 cannons, 22 old and 32 new.
