  1. Looks neat! I like the title too. What is going be in this cart? Weapons?
  2. Whenever you want. But leave your weapons and friends at home. I have experience with assassins already. I just hide myself just behind the horizon, send my fastest frigate to find you. When she returns, and she will because you can't follow her with your ships of the line, I know your location, sail around you and attack you from behind. :pir-skull: And there's nothing you can do. I knew it! Nope, my bodyguards will protect me of course. And killing someone during tea time isn't honorable in Great Britain. Or they cowardly kill me, and they will be threatened for the rest of their life. Or we drink tea together peacefully and fight another day.
  3. It's the fault of the Redcoats! They are guilty! They started it all! We just defend ourselves! Simply because it's their fault, their mistake and their doom. They don't deserve more then be slaughtered on the fields. :pir-skull: But outside the war we are all gentlemen. Note they were always very friendly and gentle to eachother outside the conflicts. I think I can drink some tea with Joey Lock and Houndblower, but they won't meet me at sea.
  4. I've never played Warhammer with all that small figures to paint. They are extremely expensive too for a plastic model. But it is stunning to see large armies of these on a table. I think I'm going to play this game against a friend of me, YnyklY... :pir-skull: I'm a big fan of strategy games too. I'm thinking on someting like Stratego for LEGO Pirates.
  5. Ah yes the whaling ship, that was a very nice one. This project goes smoothly so far! The planking technique works very well. I'm not sure about the two brown slopes at the stern, how are you going to connect a rudder on that? Perhaps it's better to make that part straight down so the rudder fits on it. You can connect the rudder above the slopes of course but I think it will be flimsy then. Anyway, keep it up!!
  6. Great update! I recognize the shape of a brig in it: There are some great details on the deck, barrels, crew... I'm still very curious how the stern will turn out, don't make them too boxy! They suppose to have a very smooth shape, although that's the most hard part to make. Keep this great project going!
  7. Thank you all for the very nice feedback! Some questions answered: The black and white squares on the floor are based on the HMS Victory's floor. I will make the middle of the ship a little bit thicker, but I'm not yet in the middle of the ship with the build. The ship will have about 24-26 guns each side. It's a good idea indeed to make the gunports 3x3 instead of 4x4. But 6 studs between them leads to the fact the ship will have too less guns for a fourth rate. There will be a kitchen in there, along with a cook indeed. The stern will be even more detailed later on, this is the untrimmed version. I've made some good progress on the ship till now, this was probably the last update this month or even longer. I'm on vacantion, a job and threre will be big parties! It also costs a lot of money and planning takes a lot of time. But I will finish her, no worries!
  8. It has something to do with LOTR and Warhammer games. Great idea, I've considered it myself too. But how many HP will a ship with 7 or 8 midsections have?
  9. I've been very busy recently, and I've made some good progress on the ship. I think it's finished for about 1/5 now. Here you can see the current progress. I've removed the galleries since they don't fit exactly yet. The yet untrimmed stern, this is the basic design, I will add more details soon. The Captain's cabin. As you see this part can be taken out of the ship. The decks, galleries, stern, everything is removable so it can be transported, repaired and updated easily. It also adds the possibillity to add an interior. The Admiral's cabin, larger then the Captain's cabin. The floor isn't completed yet and also this part can be taken off the ship so the Midshipman's quarters become visible. A view from the lowest gundeck, not yet completed. The floor will be tan or light grey. I will add ropes between the hull and the guns. Another view, I have to spread out the arches and pillars otherwise the gundeck will get too cramped. The upper gundeck, also this interior will be completely white with a tan or light grey deck. At the background you see the galleries. The wall between the Admiral's quarters and the gundeck can be removed during battle. Nothing is more dangerous then a cannonball straight through your stern, especially when there is a wooden wall in it's way. The helm design, there will be ropes in the middle going to the rudder chains. The banana details. This part will be on the top of the stern. The two lanterns suppose to be on the Le Formidable. The wrong colours will be changed later on of course. Brickshelf Thanks for watching! Comments are always appreciated!
  10. I agree this technique is quite good, I like brick built hulls a lot. I still use prefab hulls though. The different plank colours work very good in my opinion. I believe this is your first ship in the pirate section of Eurobricks, and I wish you all the best with the build!
  11. I can help with that, it's a great idea! I totally support it. I will have a talk with the Shipyard guys.
  12. I couldn't find a good picture on my pc, but here is one! It is a bit blurry though. Here's the honorable Captain Blackmoor: Also check my katana on the wall. :skull:
  13. I also want a close-up pic, the torso looks very interesting. And as LuxorV mentioned you should paint the helmet also from the inside. But it is an awesome idea and an awesome knight.
  14. Please don't forget I'm just a humble Dutchman. I'd like to see you speaking Dutch as good as I do. Oh and I've never said you were monkeys, in a few years you become one. You guys are in the middle of the new evolution.
  15. No Nightwish fans around here?
  16. The story behind Cap'n Blackmoor: The good Cap'n was born in Liverpool England, but he moved to France during the Protestantism War in England. Once he was in France he became midshipman on the Le Formidable, he climbed the ranks till he had the ship under his command. In his short career he caputed many British vessels and became handy with the sword. After some great naval battles he was given the command over the Le Fourageux, however, that ship isn't finished yet. Now he is active on the shipyard, designing his brand new fourth rate ship... And now the story behind the avatar: I'm born in the Netherlands and still live there. In the same village, same street and same house. I live there for 18 years now. My room upstairs is filled with LEGO, two large ships, a pirate port and a lot of storage boxes. I'm going to study Coast and Seamanagement. First I wanted to become officer in the Dutch Navy, awesome job and you see a lot from the world. But you are away from home and LEGO a long time. I have a high interest in the navy, sea and the age of sail. I was in the need of a good name on Eurobricks, it should be an English name since my sigfig is "born" in England. Cap'n Black sounds too piracy, Cap'n Blackie sounds childish so I came up with Cap'n Blackmoor. Sounds a bit Scottish... Well that was me!
  17. I have tried with red, but that is just not good. So far I have no gold epaulettes I still think white is the best choice, however gold might look good as well. It's an exposition shot. I agree this could be a set. Currently I am working on the impulse sets I've mentioned. The larger sets are a bit too much work, I'm not going to build a fortress or a village. Great ideas to build in the future by the way! I'm glad you like it LuxorV!
  18. Keep it a bit on-topic guys. Awesome port! I notice a lot of details and the buildings are very nice. I would use some different colours in the water like light blue, dark blue and white. I also see a very large mast on a dinghy which is suitable for a larger ship. I would recommend to remove or replace the big mast by a smaller one. I think you've made an excellent creation, keep up the good work!
  19. I tried to resize them even more, but it is not a 800x600 picture. It's height is 600 but the width is more indeed. If I shrink the image more it will be less visible.
  20. The ammount of crew looks perfect too me, not too crowded and 2 men per cannon. I want the same but I need at least 88 crewmembers then. Good luck with the ship!
  21. I am glad you guys all liked it. I had a good laugh making it. And yes, honorable Darwin was from Britain. Also a wrong joke. The Redcoats should be happy I'm just making a funny picture of 'em while I have the opportunity to kill them all. :pir-skull:
  22. I suddenly got an awesome funny idea. After posting this I should be aware of Redcoat assassins. This is never meant to hurt anyone, just for fun. Charles Darwin was travelling to an island somewhere in the north sea. Once he arrived he started studying and observating the life on the island. The poor Darwin didn't realize he sailed to Britain, where the Redcoats live. So he came with the following, odd but logic, theory: During his observation he caught a rat, which grew into a cannonball (?) then into a head, a baby with a cute Redcoat shirt, he became adult and went in the army, he climbed up to the rank of General. After that he was retired, he wanted to grow great in fame and became a pirate. Unfortunately his laddies left him behind on an island full of monkeys, he became one with the nature. Seperated from the mainland the life on the small island was genetically different from the mainland. Odd parrots which will become large spiders someday... What a life.
  23. That's odd... Really odd... Odd... But also quite nice. The demon is nicely built, a creative way to combine bricks. But I really don't know what a barnacle is, is it a minifig eating plant? He doesn't like friendly. It looks quite interesting though.
  24. How about a theme "the guys in the barrels". I'm glad you like my idea, I've made the pictures! The lightning isn't perfect but I will improve the pics later on. I hope you like Captain Edward!
  25. Nope, but it can be. On the PC it looks different, more detailed and better graphics. It looks more like Imperial Glory. Also an amazing game.
