  1. The gatling gun is used in the great movie The Last Samurai. In the bonus disc of this DVD they show exactly how it works and how it is made. I have the re-released version of this movie so older DVDs may be different. I recommend this because it could be very useful. I'm looking forward to the result of your gatling gun!
  2. It is a golden key. I got two from the 7419 Dragon Fortress. There may be more sets with golden keys but I'm not sure. I'm working on the . I've tested different wheels but I want something special. I've seen some good ways but it's cooler to do something new. I might post some more accessoires later on. But first I want to finish the ship. Thanks for the comments all!
  3. Not every nation had it's own coloursheme in real. In the battle of Trafalgar the Spanish, French and British ships had the same colours. Black with yellow stripes and decorations. Of course, ship types and build styles were different between nations but that's another story.
  4. That doesn't look so bad, I see it can rotate as well. Nice job! Is that the stern of your Constitution at the background?
  5. I do not have a lot of brown bricks, I make my ships in black and yellow. But I've seen a ship I want to make so badly, and I need lots of brown for it. Soon or late I have order brown bricks too.
  6. Accessory MOCs As some of you guys maybe know, I'm currently building the "La Formidable". I've made some small accessoires for the ship today and I'd like to share them. Perhaps it's useful for you too, my ship is under construction so any suggestions are highly appreciated! Enjoy! The steering wheel, with the first mate behind it. There's a compass on top and the steering wheel can be operated by more men in heavy weather. The first mate is overlooking the sea in front of him, avoiding reefs and chasing enemy vessels. The first version of the figurehead, the figurehead is carrying a golden sword, crone and key. The crone symbolizes the power of the French on sea. He also wears a golden sword which symbolizes the sword of Justice, this ship brings justice to his enemies. It also punishes them. :pir-skull: The key symbolizes the fact this ship could be the 'key' to dominate the seas. Another view. I've been working on lanterns for the back of the ship. The "La Formidable" will get three of them. This shows how the lantern is made. Not many bricks but quite nice in my opinion. I still prefer yellow-transculent cones for the lamp. This is a small caliber ( 6 pounder ) cannon for on the poop deck and forecastle. The soldier is ready to fire! This is the way how I made the cannon, not much but neat. I'm still looking for a way to add small wheels. Thanks for watching!!! Comments highly appreciated!
  7. Looks great to me! Perhaps you can remove one flag and place it at the top of the tower. Ships will recognize the British fort from a further distance that way. I also like the two cranes at the top. I'd like to see some more pictures of this! Perhaps it is also a good idea to make some pics with the fort in action, with men running all over the fort trying to defend it, etc... You're doing a great job so far, and welcome to EB!
  8. Ah, the famous H.M.S. Endeavour! Great ship and a very nice source of inspiration! It's colour sheme is so nice. Hopefully your ship will be great as well! Keep up the good work!
  9. Where are the white things for? Clubs to smash eachother's skull? Stop signs? I like it anyway.
  10. It would be very cool indeed. Sad thing TLC doesn't produce battlepacks.
  11. I think this might be very helpful! Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the comments! This was just a MOC I came up with. I see the parrot wasn't that hard to find. Reason for edit: A FATAL GRAMMAR MISTAKE!
  13. I love your hull! The rigging isn't really my thing with the square sails, while the masts looks great. I've seen some pics of a Lugger and I noticed they also had tricorner sails. I would like the rigging more with tricorner sails but that's just my opinion. Your hull is doing the job!!
  14. Brilliant MOC, nice techniques used for the sloped doors. Overall, I really like this ship. But what does that barrel of flowers there?
  15. Which torso? The one from Bonaparte's avatar? I thought it was custom because of that medal.
  16. Great!! I love the dragon's head as an intrance, the interior is superb! I like the kitchen and the sidebar at the staircase. I love it. The docks look great as well, the boat too! The mermaid is a nice idea and I like the steering wheel used in the crane. You're doing great in this build Trash! You've proven yourself worthly again to the Beta team!
  17. Unfortunately, most fabulous Ebay bargains are only shipped to the USA or UK. And I don't live there...
  18. Are you going to build it in real minifig scale like Phred does? Or do you make something like the La Mort Royale?
  19. Looks great to me! I think this would make searching MOCs a lot easier! Already thanks for this thread Zorro3999, Staff too!
  20. I think TLC will do exactly the same as in the previous pirate's line, releasing more ships upcoming year. At least, I hope they do.
  21. You've picked a nice ship to base your MOC on. I haven't seen the new pirates sets though... Can't wait to see your WIP's!
  22. I love both your ship and fort! I only don't like the rotating cannons on board. It makes it less realistic, that shouldn't happen on a magnifiscient ship like this. The rigging looks great. You have found a good way to make use of those sails. The only thing it needs are some ropes. The fort looks great but it could use some details and tiling. Well, that's just my opinion. Your fort looks great anyway. I like the idea to put telescopes on the swivel guns. You have the first telescoped sniper-swivel-gun in the world! What makes me happy on your ship is the fact you've added a parrot! My MOC's are never complete without a parrot. Keep up the good work!
  23. I just got a lot of old bluecoats for a bargain, so I don't need new minifigs at the moment. But I'm waiting for another ship.
  24. Lol, I feel silly for that guy. Even I am not cruel enough to think this is funny. :pir-skull: It's not funny, not funny at all, but very hilarious!!
  25. I like it! I also see a lot of influences from the Imperial Flagship. Now we all just have to wait for the new Bluecoats.
