The Jolly Roger Figure on the Bicorner Hat
Captain Blackmoor replied to Barbaros's topic in LEGO Pirates
As mentioned above, it's not historic accurate. When children think about pirates they think about shabby lads with a skull and crossbone hat. It's not realistic but I don't hate it. -
EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Captain Blackmoor replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
My Bricklink Order has arrived so I can start building the bank! I need to order some small pieces though. It may take some days but I'll get there and complete the bank ASAP! -
I agree with that, TLC had some great viking sets but too much monsters and unusual big war machines in it. But the reason for that is to make the sets more playable.

Awesome job. I've been browsing your 'shop' and it looks superb! Can you paint the bajonettes in metallic silver or something?

Updated Governor's Mansion by Paul Cantu
Captain Blackmoor replied to Erdbeereis's topic in Pirate MOCs
I voted for it in the awesome PTV contest, now he has made it even better! Lovely interior! -
I place non-moc cannons on the lower decks and moc-cannons on the upper decks, poop deck and forecastle. High caliber guns were placed on the lower decks to keep the ship in balance so it wouldn't collapse by a too high ammount of weight placed high on the ship. Perhaps that's a good idea for this great ship as well. You won't let it happen it sinks like the Regalskeppet Vasa did?

Which figurehead in the pirate theme do you like most?
Captain Blackmoor replied to Dreamweb's topic in LEGO Pirates
I voted for the yellow hawk-bird-thing on the Caribbean clipper because it's nice compared to the other with a standard minifigure on it. The Armada Flagship has a figurehead, but no one can figure out what it is. It looks like a kind of dragon who put his tongue out. -
I like everything on this ship, the hull, the rigging everything looks great. Keep it up!

I've figured out they work pretty fine for building forts. I'm experimenting with those bricks for the base of the fort. On those bricks the real fort will be build so the fortess is somewhat higher then sea level. Only problem: They aren't avaible in some countries indeed.

It is a palm leaf indeed to honour the chief waving it so the chief gets less warm by the tropical heat. The leaf is for shadow too. I like it, so simple but very effective.

What do you want to see most in the future?

Bluecoats all the way! I feel sorry for my other Bluecoats... -
I think it's for distracting their 'target' so he gets confused. :skull:

I like it! The coloursheme from the BSB ( which I like) looks great on this ship as well. I also like the custom made sail. The stern is simple but very nice on this ship. I also like it the ship is partly modular. The hidden treasure is nice. Some improvements: The interior of the captain's cabin could do with some furniture in it. The cabin looks a bit high compared to the rest of the ship. Adding a sloped wall would be nice. Great ship!

I like it, the scared pirate does it.

I want that rapier very badly. Good use of the Indy indians in this scene. They look great with the Imperial Armada minifigs. I like it!

Port Augustine & La Formidable, both WIP

You are probably the only one who knows how the ship is going to look like. I'm very happy the stone walls look great. I'm looking forward to the result of our movie. -
Church/Chapel MoC for Medievel Marketplace

I like the technique used in the benches. I forgot to mention the candles on the altar: awesome detail! -
A viking village set would be cool, but there is no set of that. It would be cool if TLC released more sets of the vikings.

Pirate Battle & Imperial Guard Battle Packs
Captain Blackmoor replied to Specever's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think TLC had plans for the new Pirate theme a long time already. I don't think they would release battlepacks in 12 days because it costs lots of time and risk to release new sets. If they planned to release battlepacks they had done it already. But who knows.... -
I like the fact you haven't used any basic hulls. Only the bow but that's a hard job to do without basic hulls. The rigging looks great, a bit thick mast but it goes fine in here. I also like the stern and the cabin. The colour sheme could use some improvements though. Great ship anyway!

I can see some influences of the La Mort Royale, this ship is awesome! Can't wait to see it finished, I keep watching this thread. Good luck with your ship!

Port Augustine & La Formidable, both WIP
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks! I should make a caravan for the trade route indeed. I can make one but the ship's stern and bow aren't attached to the ship yet, I try to make it modular but it's quite hard. Thanks for your comment! Thanks! It was a hard job to find these 'wall bricks' in this quantity. I'm glad I have them! Thanks! I think I'll post some updates soon! Now I have to wait for my second order. And I think a fort would be very nice...
