Name your ships and fleet! Description too!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Specever's topic in LEGO Pirates
That must be a mighty fine collection of ships! Can't wait to see them! Lucky enough I see some of your ships are French so I'm not in trouble with my fleet. -
The ship wrecked pirate what he would look like...
Captain Blackmoor replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
The reason is the camera angle and his beard. Very funny comparison, I didn't noticed that. But now I do! Thanks. -
My lego creation took my dog for breakfast.... So sorry, no picture of my pet. Really, my dog is cute, soft and HAIRY. ( I keep cleaning my MOCs from dog hair )

If Lego stopped being produced.........
Captain Blackmoor replied to Da Death Star!'s topic in Community
I think EB would step over on another Lego producing company. Since the copyright on Lego has expired there are lots of new "Lego" producing companies. -
My last set in 2008, that will be the Café Corner. Awesome set with awesome pieces and awesome techniques. Recommended!!

Having fun with the new British minifigures
Captain Blackmoor replied to donneyboy's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yup, the Armada looks exactly like the Spanish conquistadors. No doubt they represent the Spanish. There have been some discussions about the Blue and Redcoats. I've done some research about the Red and Bluecoats and I've discovered a tiny black symbol on the Bluecoats small flag. That black symbol seems to be the Fleur de Lys, the symbol of French military power around 1600-1700. I think the factions in Lego really represent nations, but not that overwhelming so kids can use their fantasy. -

Can't wait to see more of this awesome project. I'm currently working on the bank, it's getting pretty cool. Although, that's my opinion so far. -

Black Seas Barracuda is a pirate ship as well. But I leave that to your opinion. I love your fleet! I have seen the Phoenix, quite nice ship! -

I have updated my flagship. I gave it some swivel guns and forechasers. :pir-skull: Now where is Joey Lock's ship? -
Thanks! I'll try to find it on BL as well.

With parrot cannonballs.

Hahaha, hilarious. Especially the pee in the water you mentioned. Very funny.

No danger on the seas for me, since the "La Mort Royale" is a French ship. Together with my "La Formidable" the French rule the seas! I see no reason why Admiral Bewier will go sailing for the Dutch. -
I have seen it before. I have two gray crocs from the Egyptian large set. I'm still wondering where that cannonball is from...

I'll post them on Bricklink and Mocpages when they are totally finished and perfect, they still aren't. I talk about tiling decks, the rigging and the custom sails. Lots or work to make it perfect. But I'm working on it every day. -
I see you've done some improvements! The forecastle has some railings now so nobody will fall off anymore. You've also added a figurehead which looks pretty cool.

For so far I know about the steering wheel: After 1760 I believe, the British upgraded their ship designs. The steering wheel was located under the poop deck, like the Victory has. Before the "upgrade" the ship's wheel was located on the poop deck. For example: The Batavia was built in 1623 and had no steering wheel at that date. After a few years, around 1700, some ships were given a steering wheel at the poop deck, just before the mizzen mast. The Amsterdam was build around 1750 in british style. The steering wheel was at the same place as the Victory has, under the poop deck. If you want to build a realistic British ship from after 1760, I recommend to place the steering wheel under the poop deck. Hopefully this might help. Edit: I saw the "La Mort Royale" had not much space between the poop deck and the deck beneath it, I even doubt if the steering wheel fits there. Perhaps that's the reason why Cpt. Green Hair placed the steering wheel on the poop deck. If I'm wrong in this, my apologies for that.

Ooo another great part of the castle! I like the fact it looks like a mountain. The interior looks great as well. Dwarves all the way! -
very creative and nice usage of a hardly-to-customize- plate.

Congratulations Zorro! I've joined Eurobricks at the same time as you (coincidence?) And now look. Vice Admiral! I think it's a very nice prestation!

New pirate Tan raised baseplate.
Captain Blackmoor replied to Blackheart Brit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I only don't like the gap in the 'hill' on the centre. Maybe it's just to put your finger in and lift the plate up which is above the hole. For the rest, it looks great to me. -
It's quite funny, but I doubt if this has to do with Lego pirates...

Couldn't decide, I have the large Egyptian set and the Dragon Fortress. I also have some small adventure sets with it. I like them all.
