  1. My main hobby thankfully helps keep me too poor to go on a huge LEGO shoping spree. Mind you, living within 30min walking distance of both a Chapters AND an Indigo store that just had a blanket 20% off LEGO Star Wars/Ninjago/City/TMNT sets for the entire month did not help me very much... Oh well, at least I've got a shiny new TIE Fighter to hang from my bedroom ceiling so my kittens can try playing with it.
  2. Not a movie persay, but it kinda counts... Am currently re-watching GoT's season 2 before the new season beings tomorrow night! Because as you might have heard at some point and time... Winter is Coming.
  3. I heartily approve of this MOC! BTW, only 29 hours to go until Season 3 begins! Fire & Blood
  4. Considering how miserable & unfriendly almost all of the Zellers employes were at my local store, I'm not too surprised. Not trying to say that all Zellers staff were automatic donkeycaves, but man, my local store was a real nightmare to try and get any kind of assisstance from! Not to mention almost all of them would likely have died if they so much as cracked a friendly smile it seemed...
  5. I'm waiting for the full trilogy to come out in the 'uber deluxe extended edition box set, because we know PJ will milk this for all it's worth... Went to see Olympus Has Fallen today... Fething epic-awsomesauce! Gerard Buttler AND Aaron Ekheart in the same film?! Double the eye-candy and double the epic bad***ary! Mind you, the film makes the poor Secret Service out to be morons in general - seeing hordes of them running right into the pair of .50 cals that are firing non-stop and gunning them down like it's a turkey-shoot... Or the token "arrogant dumb*** general" who of corse insists the SEAL team & Blackhawks can fly through the heavy AA fire of dooooooom! Overall though, it's a great film with no shortage of epic one-liners.
  6. I've got two little kittens. The slightly older one, Stitch, turns 3 years tomorrow! She is a holy terror with both LEGO and Warhammer. Anything that's left out, she pounces on it like a fat kid going after a twinkie smothered in chocolate sauce & smarties. She'll just bat the LEGO around for the most part, though she likes to aim it at things like the vents or into sinks so that you'll never get those tiny little pieces back... With my Warhammer, she's a little devil for going after freshly assembled models, running off under the bed/into a corner and then disassembling them. (and again, she'll try her hardest to outright lose all the teeny-tiny bitz!) The other cat, Loki, likes to steal the bigger LEGO bricks/plates and run off with them. Unfortunately she's a runt, and ninja-fast so it typically takes a few minutes to corner her and get things back from her. Luckily, she doesn't care much for batting stuff around, but when she sees Stitch having her fun with Lego, she'll take a flying leap and pounce on her, chase her off, then run off herself with a nice big piece of whatever! I guess this is what I get for giving them their names... They've definately lived upto their namesakes!
  7. I'm a die-hard Montreal Canadians fan throug hand through! Living in the center of Leafs nation only adds to the entertainment value... It's simply too easy to poke fun at Toronto, but it's something no self-respecting Habs fan can pass-up. Q: What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic both have in common? A: The both look good until the they hit ice.
  8. I was a "Red Shirt" at the local Games Workshop store before our lease ran-out and the mall booted us out for being too loud & fun-loving. Aside from the fact that we bacame known across the entire company - including HQ in Nottingham as "the store that God hates" due to the various minor disasters that would routinely strike the store... Or that I had to deal with the most akward groups of nerds/geeks... Or the horrific mall working conditions... And that we were nothing more than a glorified baby-sitting service... It was a tone of fun! (what other job pays me to lead a "WAAAAAAAAAGH!" so loud it was heard 1/3rd of a kilometer away?!!) But seriously, I've never, ever known, or worked in a place that was as badly cursed as GW Store2013. (outside of 'volcanic eruption', you name it - odds are I've got a story to go with it!)
  9. I'm expecting the Chapters/Indigo stores to get Series 10 by late April/early to mid May. I guess shipping does slower up here in the north when those dog sleds are trying to slog through all the mud and rain?! BTW, is it just me, or does that Roman Centurion simply scream "Roma Victa!" to anyone else?!
  10. Am currently watching Kingdom of Heaven. While I'm not a fan of Orlando Snooze who's simply far too Mr.Sad Panda throughout the whole film, the rest of the cast is epic! Plus, it's one of the few movies involving the 2nd Crusade which is easily the most interesting. And of corse, I love Iain Glen's cameo at the end as Richard the Lionheart! Apparently Riddly Scott was wanting to do a follow-up film detailing more of the Richard/Saladin story, hence why they signed Glen, but they've sadly never gotten around to it... Oh well, don't get to enough of Iain Glen this side of the pond, so I'm not complaining!
  11. Ontario too! @Soul4ger: I'd make sure to check out any nearby Chapters or Indigo stores due to the current 20% off LEGO Star Wars, City, Minifigures & Ninjago. I can also tell you that there's not point looking for Series 9 minifigures at either Burlington store - only the Chapters store has any and they're down to about 30 or less now! (we love our minifigures here I guess!) IIRC, there's a Chapters/Indigo location right near each offical LEGO store in Toronto. Also keep in mind that there's an additional 13% sales tax in Ontario that's added to the ticked price at the checkout, so don't let that shock you either!
  12. I managed to score a pair of the old 2010 Hoth Rebel + Snowtroopers battle packs from the World's Biggest Bookstore in Toronto yesterday! The 20% + 5% i-rewards discounts simply made it all the sweeter! I'll likely pick-up a 2nd Imperial V-wing too before the end of the month, since it's hard to resist cheaper LEGO. On a more important note though... Since when did the Maple Leafs become a winning team?! What's next? Cats & dogs living together?!
  13. Was in Toronto yesterday and at The World's Biggest Bookstore, I managed to score a Hoth Rebels battlepack and a Snowtroopers battle pack - for 20% plus an additional 5% membership discount! I did the happy dance in celebration!
  14. Love the new Centurion! I'll be needing 3 to lead my small cohort of Legionnaires. Also definately going to pick up 3 Medusae/Gorgons, at least 1 'Warrior Princess' (Queen Boudica anyone?!) and the Revolutionary Soldier. Not too keen on the other general figs though.
  15. I can't wait for Saturday to come so I can get my filthy mits on the new Daemon books. While the rumors thus far for the 40k codex look absolutely epic, the few rumors we have for the Fantasy army book are looking pretty awful. Looks like Ward is going to go 2-for-2 on making an utterly broken Daemons of Chaos book however! (expect this time, every unit is either 'game-breaking' or else 'worthless trash'... I mean seriously? Why did Bloodcrushers of all possible things get nerfed into the ground?!?)
  16. Watched 'Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete' yesterday. All I can say is, holy sweet Emperor! The animation is absolutely stunning. Also getting more Sephiroth was nifty too!
  17. The ToysToysToys franchise store up here do the same thing - the dirty rats! The list a pricetag of $5.99(can) and then under it the price sticker says "SALE" with a price of $4.99 Pretty fething lame and rather shady if you ask me... I'll just keep picing mine up at the local Chapters or Indigo stores where I can get them for the standard $3.50 & also get a 5% discount as well!
  18. IIRC, TLG has said that they have the collectible minifigs planned out upto series 14. (I think I saw that bit on Bricklinks?! was back in Deadcember I read it...) If true, it at least means we'll be getting the minifigs upto the end of 2014! I can only say, BRING IT ON!
  19. Totally. Popped into the TRU Express at the mall yesterday and they the Helm's Deep, (aka Hel's Deep according to the actors/crew!), listed IIRC for only 149.99
  20. Here is it folks, the first 'offical' full trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzI9v_B4sxw Note: That erie keening sound you might be hearing right now, is the sound of over a million nerds squeeling with joyful glee!
  21. I honestly wouldn't want to see a Lego Imrahil - he's simply too epic for the limitations of a minifigure! (same for the likes of Glorfindel) Same deal for the rest of the Swan Knights or the Easterlings or Black Numenoreans, etc... Proper miniature producers have done absolute justice to these characters/forces... If I can get my hands on the new Black Gate set, I'll post some photos of it with my Easterling army marching through!
  22. The Dol Guldur plot can be found in The Hobbit appendicies. There should actually be very little work on PJ's end to flesh out that part of the story. Although he has it seems left out about half of the White Council and replaced the actual Ringwraith who was there... (stupid usurper Witch King! )
  23. Meh, at that point, I set the "budget a grand or two" to the side and spend it on my other hobbies!
  24. Popped into Marshalls today just on a hunch and managed to score Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle set for only $22.00! Not a bad savings considering the original Canadian price of $79.99!
  25. You need to read the appendicies. Remeber - the entirety of the Dol Guldur story was added by Tolkien *after* he'd originally published The Hobbit. He never set out with the intention of continuing the story, but rather was "encouraged" by the response & popularity of The Hobbit. You can see this plainly evident in Gandalf's character alone - for the most part, he's a fairly useless character in The Hobbit itself and his constant disappearing is simply because Tolkien didn't really know at the time what/where to take this character!
