Weavil's MOCs
Doc_Brown replied to weavil's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice crane! I like how it all folds up neat. I will be looking into a pneumatic crane soon, haven't done anything yet with them. I'm not too sure about the different size wheels tho on the truck. if you are short on wheels, you probably could pick up 4 really cheap in the US! -

[WIP] Ford GTHO Phase 3
Doc_Brown replied to Doc_Brown's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you very much guys for the kind words! Definitely giving me some more motivation! Haven't started the chassis yet, been trying to solve the steering issues first. I want a nice "void" for the engine. the front steering will hopefully have neg caster and camber using the new parts. I will be using 62 mm wheels, and hopefully they will tuck inside the body work and wont look too bad, I think models of old cars can get away with this. I've made a roof, but have no idea yet how to connect it. I'm guessing i will need U-joints, because LBG 45 degree connectors are very rare and pricey. Thank you very much. I will do that! Dunno what I was thinking, lol. -

Thank you very much, I'm still learning tho! Just keep trying, Heaps of people here will help ya out if you get stuck. I'm not a fan of 42000 hubs or CV joints, as I broke a brand new one in 5 seconds flat! This is because they have a design flaw that locks the joint when at an angle of about 30 degrees or more. -
[EV3] [HELP] Patrol Dog
Doc_Brown replied to Doc_Brown's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
HAHA, that is awesome! I have no idea tbh, I would really like to see some awesome stuff with EV3 from great builders, and see what is the limit of the computer. But I guess 32Gigs of memory is a lot of code to fill. -

A fire truck would be a great addition! Imagine an extendible ladder and turning water hose. I like the Tan police car. Very big. haha -

Fiat Panda 4x4
Doc_Brown replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Such a beauty! Wish I had those wheels. -
I was just wondering how hard it would be to implement an idea I had for a EV3 moc. Basically I want to create a patrol dog model and its functions include the following. -Search and establish territory perimeter (living room) -Randomly patrol in the area -Return to Red water bowl occasionally -Return to Blue dog box to rest occasionally. ( when battery gets low, with a unique bark to let owner know) -Bark at any loud sounds (if possible) I'm not sure what the minimum of sensors would be required to perform such tasks, or if all the above is possible. Any advice would be very welcome. Also are the NXT motors and sensors are compatible with the EV3 block? Thanks!
