Read Part 1 HERE and Part 2 HERE. "After a brief silence, Vladivus began to speak again, and still Corocus listened. "There are many horrors I could tell of our journey through the Rakath Mountains. The ice-cold, the Ungolians, roving bandits, Reptrians, the list goes ever on. Nothing compares to the loss I suffered when my mother and I made it down from the peaks." Vladivus paused, and Corocus could sense the anger building up within the half-vampire. As suddenly as he had paused, Vladivus continued, his voice strained and dripping with bile. "Those beasts, those Caniban, those outcasts, even in a place such as Nocturnus. They set upon us as we rested. I had grown swiftly during our time in the mountains, perhaps a result of my Vampiric physiology, but I was not yet large enough to fend off out attackers. But you, Corocus, appeared as though from the ground itself and leapt to out defence. It was to no avail, my mother was mortally wounded, blood stained the sand around her. I have you to thank for my life, Corocus. I wish you could have met my mother. Alas it is not to be and you shall have to content yourself with tending her corpse." Silence once again fell across the grave site. Corocus counted nearly two hours passing before Vladivus' voice rose to the surface. This time it was strong, and full of purpose this time. "Fare thee well Godfather, I must leave. Ssilyrrlith has called for all loyal Nocturnians to rise up against the Black Spire. I may have need of you yet old friend." Corocus: "Aye farewell young Vladivussss." With that, Vladivus rode off, little knowing that for both of them, their lives would forever change... Part 3. This is the final part of the actual story, but there is going to be an epilogue, stay tuned! I tried to make the site of the fight resemble the grave site, hence the small bushs/tree that are larger in the current time. C+C welcome! Cheers

The Story of Vladivus, Lord of Shadowmere, Part 2
Lord Vladivus replied to Lord Vladivus's topic in Guilds of Historica
@The Yeti, thanks. Yeah I need to sort something out. My computers old and barely runs, so I'm leaning towards getting a poster or plain white sheet to do the trick. @Infernum, cheers, I've got a vivid imagination, but I find it difficult to express sometimes, so it's nice to see somebody appreciating the story! Keep an eye out for some of the figs in future MOCs.- 7 replies

I build the sets, and then they're dismantled and are parts sources for MOCs. Sometimes they survive as a built set for over an hour!

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Note I'm not disputing what you're saying, if it's true, you're a lucky guy. Usually here in the uk polybags are promo ones. And we've not even seen the Mirkwood Elf poly at all. I wish they sold them in lego stores...- 7,499 replies

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
The Story of Vladivus, Lord of Shadowmere, part 2 is now up. EDIT: The Story of Vldivus, Lord of Shadowmere, Part 3 is also up. -
Read Part 1 HERE. "As Lord Vladivus' memory slipped back to the time of his entry to Nocturnus, he began to speak aloud, although Corocus knew the story well, being part of it, he listened... "My father was an ancient, nomadic Vampire, whom I have never met. When my mother fell pregnant with me, she feared for her life, but as the Lady of Avalonia, she was unable to simply desert her post. She carried me for nearly nine months, hiding her fears beneath a veneer of duty. However, her world was about to shatter. When I was born, it was swiftly apparent that I was different- pale, white skin, and a lust for blood set me apart from other newborns. it was then that a sinister group made their play. A group of Avalonians sought to take my mothers ancestral lands, and hoped to do so by exposing my mother's so-called unholy union with my father. By capturing me, they hoped to lure my father back to rescue me. They had not counted upon my mothers natural instincts, and her self- reliance, and she fled, pursued by Avalonian soldiers. I remember little from this time, but my mother always talked to me when i was small, especially in the hard times crossing the Rakath Mountains. She told me how the arrows flew thickly, and the barking of dogs spurred her ever on. My mother spoke of how there was always a particular Avalonian soldier directing the others towards her. Eventually however, my mother escaped, losing her pursuers in the Kelra Labyrinth. Next came the hardest journey, one which would eventually claim my mothers life; crossing the Rakath Mountains..." Vladivus' voice trailed off, and his face hardened..." Part 2 of my sig-figs backstory. C+C welcome! Cheers.

His half-human side gives him immunity from sparkling in sunlight. Haha, seriously, I imagine that his human side conveys the ability to resist the killing effect of the sunlight.- 15 replies

To be honest, when you see the actual movie sets in real life, they're quite orange, especially the Gryffindor common room. And the fortune telling classroom is fairly colourful. So there's a vague precedent. I figure that it also stems from not having more muted versions of the colours available in Lego, as we have now. Still, they're pretty bright!

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree- I've never seen them in UK Lego Brand stores. The only way we get polybags is the odd S@H promotion/Legoland promotion or free with newspapers (writing it like that makes it seem like it's a common occurrence, but it's not, maybe once a year, and pretty much for one day only, and the vast majority of polybags are just full of common figs that I have tons of anyway (Frodo and Gandalf spring to mind)).- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I won't hold my breath for the polybags. I rather suspect here in the uk we'll get the Legolas one, and the Laketown guard won't show his face. Similar to how we never got the Mirkwood Elf, but we got Gandalf. I for one, however, will be picking up the DGA, and probably MEA, but I'll pass on the other two (I'll wait for a review of Laketown to decide). I do hope we get another LOTR wave, although I still haven't picked up anything from the current wave (I know, I'm lazy, my local independent stores don't carry licensed and there's not any big stores unless I go to my nearest city, which has an actual lego store haha!).- 7,499 replies

@Torgar cheers! I hope it was cool me using your tribe. Initially he was going to be a Reptrian, but the look fitted with the Kazzar. I made him disgraced, because I was unsure of the Kazzar's allegiances.- 15 replies

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Cheers! If I recall correctly, it began with a MOC by Captain Settle to represent an ingredient for a Kaliphlin challenge. The ingredient in question was enchanted pumpkins, which were said to eat people. This lead to a discussion upon harvesting them, and then to their uses, hence enchanted pumpkin pie. It's now a bit of a running joke, ZC alluded to it in his Obsidian Spike. (It's very serious really, they eat plenty of people). -
The Story of Vladivus, Lord of Shadowmere.
Lord Vladivus replied to Lord Vladivus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Cheers Gideon! Yeah Vladivus is rather fond of his mother. He's also pretty honourable, it's his mixed Vampire/Avalonian heritage. But he's not afraid of evil deeds. And regarding the reptile character, he's inspired by Torgar's Kazzar tribe. I have the other two builds built, and one is photographed, so I just need to post it, and then photograph the third build. They're introducing a couple of secondary characters involved with my Book 2 storyline.- 15 replies
