  1. I have bought second Arocs and decided to try building a one set MOC from it. I am aware that one set MOCs can be hardly called as a modification of a set, but it is still a WIP and I want to hear what dou you think about my C-model for 42043: Features three axle steering, working V6 fake engine, motorized winch, pump, outriggers and boom extension. Superstructure can be rotated by round plates on the back. I have to rebuild rear part of it, becuase battery box needs more rigid connection. Only element that was not present in the set is a string, but I can't imagine a crane without it ;)
  2. Your cab is too high (or maybe to narrow) when compared to that picture. Would you be so kind and provide pictures taken directly from front and side? I'd like to compare it to blueprints. And I love that crane, it is a pitty that those cylinders are not long enough :)
  3. Well you could just remove starboard and right side of the cab (it is connected to the cab's floor so it should be bent a little) and change the lever with this:
  4. It all depends on the element you are using. FOr example, this part: Allows to improve rigidity in two planes. Those forks will be brick built in the final version, or you will change them to liftarms?
  5. First place: The steering works in oposite direction, but to be honest I did not noticed that :D
  6. They look nice together :) If anyone is interested, all my models have second place in their categories.
  7. I would love to see both side by side made from real bricks :) Yes: http://www.lugpol.pl...pic.php?t=26706 http://www.lugpol.pl...pic.php?t=26707 http://www.lugpol.pl...pic.php?t=26708
  8. Check this one, made by one of the contestants: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/
  9. Rebrickable parts list is online now: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/M_longer/8443-studless
  10. :) Rebrickable parts list is online now: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/M_longer/8839-supply-ship-studless
  11. :O Ouch, how that happened? Thank you, I will re-upload the instructions soon.
  12. Me too :D I built mine after reading Blakbirds Technicopedia and reworking LDraw file.
  13. Nice to see that ship building master likes my version of Technic set :) I'd change few things, but it is quite sturdy and modular, so, maybe...
  14. The contest ended at midnight, now we will have to wait for voting topics :)
  15. To be honest, I'd like to build it totally different, but functions and overall dimensions had to be be as close as possible to the original set :)
  16. Long time ago a firend of mine said that there are no models of flying/floating models in Tehcnic line. Flying ones are seen quite often these days, but what about floating ones? 8839 Supply Ship by Brickset, on Flickr I have decided to give it a try. Here it is: Maybe this way? The ship itself was a interesting set, with working propellers and steering. Original set used these parts: But they are out of production, so I have been forced to use similiar parts. They were linked with steering knob and rear wheels: There were a lot of flex parts in the set, but contest models could be built only with parts produced after year 2000. Rest of the functions are located around crane arm: I had some fun with the cab, becuase I have very small pile of white pieces, and I didn't wanted to have too many gaps on it. Here's how it works: This model also have an instructions: Can be downloaded from HERE. Parts list on Rebrickable Comparision of old & new: Brickshelf Bricksafe
  17. Another model built for LUGPol's contest I have made few purely mechanic version of it when I was a kid, but how it could look in studless? The original set had very cool mechanics, with steered wheels and articulated chassis: It worked smoothly, my model does not work as good as the original (thanks to bigger wheels and different dimensions) but it is quite good. Pneumatic circuits are simple, but arm movement is more than interesting. Let's see what Blakbird wrote about it: The boom can be lifted pneumatically. An actuator pushes to pivot the boom up and retracts to pull it down. Because the actuator rod end is not mounted to the boom itself but to a link attached to the jib, a 2 stage motion results. As the actuator extends, the jib first rotates outward because it requires less force. Once it bottoms out, the entire boom lifts. This motion is repeated in reverse on retraction. This system results in a system which mimics the motion of a system with two independent actuation circuits, but achieves it with a single actuator. Genius. Here is how it works: And if anybody would like to build this thingy, I have made instructions (styled as old ones): Instruction can be downloaded from HERE Parts list on Rebrickable And a comparission of old & new: Brickshelf Bricksafe
  18. Driving two different functions through turntable.
  19. Time. Spent on sorting and rebuilding sets/MOCs.
  20. Maybe model will be bigger some day. I am thinking about rebuilding it on 2.2 RC tires:
  21. Technique used for recreating drum's shape is very good for a Technic model. But I'd change its colours to red.
  22. This thing is almost 5 years old right now, and I finally had a chance to take a pictures comparing it to a real machine: As usual, I'd like to thank Sandvik for oportunity to take these photos :)
  23. Check routing of pneumatic hoses under the turntable. They need some room to twist.
  24. You have bought small cylinders :) Pumps have single port: They come in three versions, one 5.5L and two 6L: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=x191c01#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=99798c01#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=19482c01#T=C&C=7
