The future of Back to the Future
BlueberryWaffles replied to 1980-Something-Space-Guy's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great Scott! This looks fantastic! Definitely glad that this rumor turned out to be true. Love the 2015 Doc and Marty as well, I was expecting no minifigs like the Ecto-1 but this is a wonderful surprise. Now to decide which configuration to display it in, or just buy three sets... -

Because I want it, against all other logic. The lack of X-Men sets from Lego also makes it an ideal target for getting a lot of new X-Men minifigs (Beast, Mystique, Xavier, etc.) -

You mean the Batpod from the Nolan trilogy? I don't remember any Batfleck bike as a GWP. But yes, the high prices on the 1989 Batmobile GWP were what made me think of the idea. Unfortunately I bought the D2C version about a year after release so I missed out on the original opportunity and don't want to pay the ludicrous aftermarket prices. -
DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Putting a Leto Joker in a new version of the DCEU Batmobile would work, it's probably the only way that minifig would happen. Plus it would be neat to get a dark gray version like most of the other merchandise. Honestly though, I feel like the minifigs would more likely be BvS Batman and Superman. I wonder if the 1989 Batmobile will feature in the Flash movie? Would be a good excuse to get a minifigure-sized version similar to the recent Batmobiles. Even releasing one alongside Flash's release but with all 1989 minifigs would be a good tie-in. These movie Batmobiles have been a great unofficial subtheme. -

Wow. After seeing the movie (which I adored!) I'm still surprised that we got anything from Lego based on it. Doesn't seem like a toyetic film at all. That being said, absolutely picking up the smaller two sets the next time I see them. -

71033 LEGO Muppets CMF Series - Rumors & Discussion
BlueberryWaffles replied to Borex's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh yes, how could I forget about Croki? If we really want to get into it, I think that Sam's printed triangle tile from the same series is supposed to be Redwing. Realized I never gave my thoughts on the figures themselves. Like the looks in general, a little iffy on the head quality but I'll have to wait until we get better pictures. They don't look quite as polished as something like the Simpsons heads. I like the mixed variation of normal legs and the midsize legs. The accessories are great as well as more than I expected, especially the small builds like Animal's drums or Fozzie's microphone. Holding out hope for a matching Muppet Theatre D2C now that they have all of these molds done. -
71033 LEGO Muppets CMF Series - Rumors & Discussion
BlueberryWaffles replied to Borex's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yep, one of the main running bits of Muppets Now is Scooter trying to manage the various aspects of the web show through his laptop in a video call format, which was very fitting given that the series released during the height of the pandemic and work-from-home adjustment. While I still hope for a full Scooter minifig down the line, this was a great way of including him in a way that kids will know. Nope. Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II from the Simpsons series come to mind, along with Hedwig, Nagini, and many others from the Harry Potter series. I'm surely forgetting more as well. -

The "connection" to The Adventure Continues frankly sounds like something that was made up for clout on social media. It's taking speculation and trying too hard to force it into a genuine connection. That being said, I wouldn't mind a remaster/rerelease of the two Lego IJ games on modern consoles similar to the Lego Harry Potter collection from a few years ago. Since came out alongside the release of the Fantastic Beasts films (it was originally a PS4 exclusive in 2016, later coming to Xbox One and Switch in 2018), I could easily see the same strategy being used here. -

I like it! Detailed figures all around, a normal Korg, and finally an Asgardian build. We've been missing those for far too long. -

Yawn. I know why they exist, but sets like these are why I stopped buying Marvel for a few years. So basic and repetitive compared to something like SW or HP. -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
BlueberryWaffles replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I feel like given TLG's focus on nostalgia, especially for the 18+ sets, anything from Final Fantasy 7 would be more likely based on the original game. It still capitalizes on the hype for the remake series while using the classic designs and brighter colors that might fit Lego sets better. I feel like the old Exo-Force hairpiece in blonde would be great for Cloud. -

Why not? Mario's not going anywhere, but that doesn't mean the other properties need to get shafted. There's been merchandise based on plenty of Nintendo's games (Zelda, Animal Crossing, Star Fox, Splatoon, etc.) I don't see why Lego would be any different. Plus, the interactive Mario sets could remain aimed at a younger audience while other sets could skew to an older audience just like the Horizon set. -

Wow, I really thought this was another "gotcha" fake leak. Didn't believe it till I saw the official images. Even as someone who's never played the game, it's gorgeous. Happy for the Horizon fans today. Glad they included an Aloy minifig too instead of just making it a statue like a lot of the 18+ sets. Of course, since I do have a Nintendo bias, this makes me think of the confusing lack of Zelda sets again. A similarly detailed set of a Guardian from Breath of the Wild with a Link minifig would be amazing. Guess we'll see. This also makes me think of possible Xenoblade Chronicles sets, since they have similar robots, but that's too niche. I am really curious to see where this gaming thing goes with TLG. Between this and the recent Green Hill Zone set, I'm guessing there's a lot more planned. Just on the Sony partnership alone I can easily see Ratchet and Clank happening, maybe Uncharted too. I would put money on the Portal license getting renewed as well, they already have the portal gun mold from Dimensions. -

Honestly, the "Always" set is a great idea. The scene takes place in Dumbledore's office, which is the perfect material for a detailed 18+ diorama. It's iconic with many details, and as others have mentioned the Patronus would elevate it to another level. -

Maybe a set with long-hair Harry and the professors, with a printed tile that says "HARRYDIDJAPUTYERNAMEINDAGOBLETOFYRAH??" - Albus Dumbledore -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
BlueberryWaffles replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I get what you're saying, but this seems to be more calculated behind the scenes. For a number of years, the FF and X-Men were purposely shafted across Marvel content due to a feud with Fox. According to rumors, Fox denied a character to be used in the MCU, so Marvel retaliated by significantly cutting the FF and X-Men out of material so that general audience would focus on the MCU instead of Fox's films. This is why those characters couldn't appear in games like Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 or the latest Marvel vs. Capcom game. Since Disney purchased Fox, merchandise based on the characters sprung back to life in most means (Marvel Legends figures, Funko vinyl figures, apparel, etc.) with only Lego being the major holdout for some reason. My personal guess is that Lego is too focused on the MCU to produce comic-based sets. Even the Avengers sets from 2020 were loosely based on the Square Enix game. -

You bring up a good point, this could be a legal issue. If the license for the Lego theme only applies to the films, then it really would be impossible for anything deliberately outside them to make it into the sets. From what I can see, Rowling still owns the franchise and characters while WB has the movies. This might be the explanation. -

It's a bit of an apples to oranges comparison. The BD-1, I assume, will be directly based on the Fallen Order video game. While it is true that the HP movies sprung out of the books, the entire Lego theme has been marketed as related to specifically the films themselves. Now, that doesn't mean that book-exclusive characters and references are outlawed from the theme (Peeves did show up in the early sets) but it would be through a single minifigure or a reference on a sticker. TLG won't market a set based entirely on something besides the film franchise because that has always been the main focus. The Star Wars situation is different since the (usually very financially successful) video games cover different stories in the franchise with new characters and locations. An HP set of Hogwarts can generally cover both the books and films since they're relatively similar subject material, but these characters from the Star Wars games usually have to get their own sets dedicated to those games. And frankly, Star Wars games are one of the few games from non-game based franchises that have that much market appeal. Hogwarts Legacy is debatable, but that Mystery mobile game probably isn't even on Lego's radar. Most mobile games based on licensed properties don't get merchandise, since companies would rather base their content on the "main" franchise itself. Again, not saying book-exclusive characters are impossible, but they are unlikely given the focus of the theme. Sets specifically based on the HP games are almost certainly not going to happen. -
Did we get sales numbers for the Queer Eye apartment or is that just speculation? Never was a Spice Girls person but the concept of branching out with Brickheadz intrigues me. I would definitely be interested with more options like Prince or Elton John who are dynamic enough to make compelling builds.

Bummer about Zelda. I still don't understand why that's not happening, given TLG's relationship with Nintendo and the countless times it has gone into review on Ideas. Oh well. I can keep dreaming. -

Yeah, as someone who doesn't have interest in the 2018 Great Hall, I would love an easier chance to get a non-golden Quirrel. I think a remake of 4702 The Final Challenge would work great in the new modular format so it can be placed anywhere in the castle. Either that, or make the room as a Hogwarts Moments book once TLG runs out of classrooms to do. They already have a Harry minifig in the right outfit from last year's chess set that could be reused. -

I would be shocked if we don't eventually get more NWH content. It's like the sixth highest grossing movie of all time or something? Even if it takes until 2023, it'll come. Just think about how long it took to get an accurate Endgame final battle set. -

Since I missed the 2012 set, the new palace definitely interests me. Wondering if the lack of roof is due to the old "mosque" controversy or if they're planning an addition like others in the thread have suggested. It looks so flat that I'm leaning towards the expansion idea. Plus, that would be an opportunity to work in more TBoBF-specific minifigs. Gotta say, after seeing the finale,
