Thank you! Nearly finished now, here is a back facade update:
-
Facade update (2nd floor interior is also finished, but I need to retake the photos):
-
Thanks! Nope, just turning a bunch of Friends/Creator/City sets into modulars. The other Friends set that's on my "modularization" list is the Grand Hotel.
-
I purchased Friends set 3187 a long time ago with the intention of turning it into a modular building. When 41093 came out, it only made sense to combine the two as two floors of the same modular building. This is a WIP, I started work yesterday and after some 8 hours the ground floor is done. The front: The back: Bird's eye view: Mademoiselle would like to purchase Eau de Death Star: More details (not the hair salon sign and the perfume bar in the back: EDIT: fixed images

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Sammael replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
It's just funny to see all the Americans bitch about the price increase when this is the first time in history that sets are actually cheaper in Europe than in the USA. And while there was certainly some complaining, I don't think the Europeans ever threatened to stop buying LEGO because it was cheaper on the other side of the pond. -
Last time I checked, Jamie was the lead of the whole Creator line.

The odd thing about the tan variant is that the clock face on that picture is clearly white.
-
Ok, MUCH better in white. What's up with that tan variant...

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I don't like it. This is the first modular I really don't like. I'll get it nonetheless, but I will have to do some major changes to the facade - those windows will have to be changed to some other color, and the top floor's facade will have to be redone, it's too lazy as it is. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Hm, which world famous bank has a corner-like part which would work nicely as a modular building? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bank_of_England_(soane)_-_North_West_Angle_by_JM_Gandy.jpg -
November 1st.

4 different LEGO designers I probed about this theme were unwilling to admit even that it exists, so it seems there has been a company-wide order to keep things confidential until official reveal.
-
D&D is owned by Hasbro, so no way in hell.
-
Thank you for the information. It seems to me that this theme was designed by a committee mainly composed of marketing people. "Ok, we need a chima successor, but how do we get more people to buy it? I know - put trans-yellow parts in it and classic space people will go crazy. Yeah, and we'll make armor and weapons that appeal to both castle and SF fans, so they will both buy the sets." The only thing missing are a couple of firemen and policemen from city to make the blending complete. Maybe we'll be getting a red knight and a black knight for that...

Something like this? http://eberron.wikia.com/wiki/Argonth

Elves' pics were a bit later than usual last year (possibly due to a large number of new parts), but I recall seeing Ninjago and Chima pics about the same time as the others.
-
*shrug* you are the one arguing for historical accuracy in a theme that is obviously not going to be historical in any way, shape, or form. I am pretty sure that epic fantasy anime and computer games are more of an inspiration for Nexo Knights than actual Earth history.
-
In the interest of historical accuracy, TLG should introduce sets based on the plague, leper colonies, witch trials, and church schisms. Castle moats should be filled with reddish brown 1x1 round plates simulating sewage. Only one in 10000 minifigures should be equipped with plate armor. Swords would likewise be very rare. There wouldn't be much uniformity in soldiers' clothes, except maybe for palace guards.
-
Agreed. I just shared what TLG requested - it's up to each LUG and site to decide whether to comply or not.
-
Yup. Even set numbers and names. Embargo ends September 4th.
-
TLG has requested that all registered LUGs and online communities take the photos, set numbers, and set names down.
-
From what I've heard very recently there is no steampunk involved. And no, I don't have any other details.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Something like this? Or this? I'd prefer the first one, but the second one is probably more likely... wonder what will be on the other floor(s). -
Those are from the Elves sets. Every time I look at this modular, I discover something new. Truly a masterpiece!
