  1. I'm selling off almost everything I have except castle/LOTR stuff and even a bit of that is on its way out. I hope to update this with individual prices when I have more time but for now PM me for quotes. As a general rule, I will sell for the cheapest Bricklink price give or take a bit and I will be more receptive to haggling if you are buying more stuff. I'm primarily looking to sell but I will consider trades as well. I'm in the US but will ship anywhere you pay me to. LOTR/Castle/History Stuff (The dwarf shields, horses and goblin are gone.), Polybags and Sealed CMFs (7 Gandalf polys, 1 Jor-El poly, 2 Medusas, 1 Battle Mech and 5 Forest Maidens)
  2. Says the fairy elf who can't grow one.
  3. At this point, I don't know who. I'm sure not going anywhere; especially to Avalonia. It's like a Peter Pan soap opera over there. Kaliphlin is in good shape at the moment. We'll have to be careful not to let them consolidate too much power while Avalonia and Nocturnus figure out which way is up.
  4. That's what I meant by theoretically taking over Kaliphlin. ;) And so it begins...
  5. Hey, congratulations SK! I'd love to get more people from LCC building here too.
  6. I'm sure TLG could surprise me with a 'Ninjago-like' dragon but I have to say I think I'd prefer a molded one too. I'd like to leave my Bionicle days behind me. I am certain it will not be wholly brick-built though. That just wouldn't make any sense at all at a reasonable scale.
  7. So, we could theoretically take over Kaliphlin? That'd be cool if it wasn't a wasteland... Sounds good guys! I imagine both Kaliphlin and Mitgardia will play out in very intriguing ways. That's not to say I'm not looking forward to Nocturnus. I do have one question though; I know we will stick with one guild (Mitgardia forever!) but will we need to use the same character for all five civil wars? It seems like it might be difficult to work active involvement in all of them into a cohesive character. If that's the case, I'll need to put some extra thought into what kind of character to introduce. There's no way my reclusive dwarves would get overly involved in many foreign conflicts. EDIT: Sorry ZC, I now remember reading that my first time through but missed it when I went back looking at specifics. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
  8. The target in my area got them at the beginning of June. Tthey sold out of the council set in the first week and still haven't restocked. I've been to 10+ Wal Marts and none of them have had any. I'm checking frequently; hoping to catch wave one when it gets marked down.
  9. I really doubt it. There are a lot of more unique and iconic places left to be made in what is likely just one more wave. It could certainly make a nice set but I just think it's too far down the list.
  10. Most importantly, I don't think anyone else in a Beorn's house set would require a new mold. Lego should have been free to design Beorn, both man and bear forms, however they wanted to. I don't like his size in the trailer so a scaled down version will suit me just fine. Worst case scenario: I buy a City bear and name him Beorn.
  11. I'd like to trade for the eagle, Aragon, Gandalf and the Mouth of Sauron; preferably all in one go. I have the figures from the Council set as well as other LOTR stuff (and a little castle/cmf) including polys. LOTR Sealed Elrond Poly Sealed Mirkwood Elf Poly Sealed Gandalf at Dol Goldur Poly Council Elrond Council Frodo Arwen Merry Pippin Multiple uruks Bifur Gimli OTHER Sealed Jor El Polybag Catwoman Batman (from Catwoman set) CMF S5 Dwarf CMF S9 Forest Maiden CMF S10 Medusa CMF S10 Roman Assorted Fantasy Era stuff Many assorted weapons PM or post here if you have any questions. Thanks! -SB
  12. You know we'd love to have you join but thank you for the encouragement! It's nice to know some people make it in from outside to see what gets built. I never did until I was prodded.
  13. Just FYI guys, he's already sold most, if not all, of this on eBay. I saw the auctions. :/
  14. I'm not a Kaliphlinianite but... Yes. I expect Mitgardia to follow suit, preferring to fight our enemies over our neighbors.
  15. Soon, the tights won't be able to contain all the ambition!
  16. Folds and fraying are generally the worst I'd expect but I was never one of those kids that slammed my Hot-Wheels into each other either. Regarding battle packs: The fact is, there could be something license/WB related that is preventing LEGO from releasing 'battle packs' and it could be an internal decision. We don't know. There's no point in revisiting that tired conversation. Is it clear from the newer pics that there are two of the new shield print in the Laketown set? (I can't get them to load on my phone.)
  17. I actually think its likely LOTR gets another set that large next year. Lothlorien or Rivendell would make good UCS sized sets if LOTR LEGO were 10+ years old. Given what is likely a three year lifespan, a huge Lothlorien is a pipe dream albeit a very lovely one. ;)
  18. They wore the exact same armor as Haldir iirc so it would really just be repackaging the same torso in a more affordable set and sticking a different face on it. I'm all for a Lorien set and I'm convinced we'll get one.
  19. My sentiments exactly about the brown. This set has some great pieces and minis but I'm not sold on it as a whole. Perhaps it will grow on me but it's certainly no Bagend. I really expected quite a bit more from the comic con reveal.
  20. Tolkien, I'd wait until I saw pictures of the full winter line up before making that kind of decision. He may not be exclusive at all and if he is, you may not like him as much as the non-exclusive. Plus, I think Green Lantern is probably a more valuable fig in the long term. I'm a huge LEGO and Tolkien fan but I guarantee if I got one of these figures I'd sell it in a heartbeat. There's a lot of stuff I could get with $500-$1000 that I'd get far more use/enjoyment out of than any minifig. deskp, I'd love to see that LDD file. I'll PM you later today.
  21. All this whining about exclusives really isn't justified; especially as it relates to the Azog figure. We get what we pay for from LEGO. They don't 'owe' us anything and no one would be complaining if the fig hadn't been made available at all. LEGO would be daft to only promote itself to already loyal fans and SDCC is a great place for them to reach a target demographic. I totally understand wishing you could get a fig that you can't but going so far as to fault LEGO for it is silly. I really hope the piece count for Lake Town is a typo and actually 100 more pieces than reported. It's a good looking set with great looking figures and some interesting parts but as it stands now, I'd only get it if it were on sale for at least $10 off. I'm glad to hear our Azog should be white. I think it will look better (though still awkward and inorganic).
  22. I don't hate Azog but he does look strange. I think the chewie option would look bad on him too. The main problem in my eyes is that his arms begin a good deal lower than his shoulders. The minotaur minimizes this problem by having its shoulder fur taper all the way down to the beginning of the arms as well as extend past them horizontally to keep him from looking disproportionately tall from the arms up. The gap that is left between the shoulders and the arms on Azog is a bit of an eyesore.
  23. This is true in my case. I like the set a lot (not as much as if it had been primarily dark brown) but I don't buy Lego sets just to display them. Every set eventually (usually pretty quickly) gets cannibalized for parts to build my own stuff with. Value is important for any of us who can't buy everything we might want to and for many of us, the number of pieces we get is a major factor in that. For other LOTR sets with high price/piece ratios we got a cave troll, horses, or wargs to justify it. I just don't see that in this set. There is no way that dinghy is worth a $15 mark up.
