I've given this a lot of thought and here's what I decided. First, you have a very good point about the piece count for the brick built figs in battle packs. I have updated the rules to say that brick built figs should not have more than 30 pieces as it seems a droideka has about 28. If you want to include a brick built droid that is part of the build and not part of the 4 figs, you are allowed to do so, but that doesn't really follow the standard TLG format for battlepacks so keep in mind that it would be judged accordingly. It also wouldn't be allowed if you had 4 clones and 1 droideka and tried to count the droideka as part of the main build. The idea behind those standards is not to have black and white rules, but more to help keep people from building way outside the battlepack frame work. If you have specific examples, it might be best to PM me so I can tell you exactly what would be allowed within this gray area. As for changing the color of a piece, no, I'm afraid that will not be allowed. I know TLG does it for their new sets, but I think we have enough pieces in enough colors and you can use your creativity to come up with a good solution I've updated the rules on the piece count. I said 100 pieces because it is supposed to be a battlepack so more than 100 is really pushing it. However, if you have an awesome idea and it it 110 pieces, you're not going to be disqualified. You're also not required to post how many pieces your entry has, but if it looks like more than 100 I may ask you exactly how many you've used. So to answer your first question, no, you can't add 10 pieces to your count because all figs should technically be part of the 4. But, you can feel pretty safe in going 10 pieces over First, welcome to Eurobricks! As for your question, you allowed to post it on Flickr or another picture hosting site before the contest, it just should already be posted here on EB or another site as an existing post. So yes, you can post it on your Flickr now and still enter the contest As for the characters and scenes, it can be from anywhere within the Star Wars universe!

That's great, thanks!

Can someone who is not a mod check it again please?

I purposely did not include the comics because I wanted the focus to be on the books of the EU. I know many of the EU books reference want happens during the Dark Empire comics, so you could maybe do a flash-back scene to an event from the comics, but only if it's referred to in the books. This contest is only about what happens after the movies, so no. But seeing as SoNE is all about Shadows of the Empire, I think you have plenty of opportunites to build from that book Sorry! No video games. And besides, your Crimson Pilgrim wouldn't be a new build and you know it

A late entry that I want people to enjoy, but which will not be counted for the Rebels overall score.
-
Before I begin this post, I want to say that I know I am late to the contest. I'm sorry to all my fellow Rebel players. I misread the due date and thought I had more time. BEAVeR has graciously allowed my entry to be judged along with the rest of the entries, BUT, it will not count for points or towards the Rebel's score. I hope you enjoy the build never-the-less. "Why did I ever agree to this mission?" Yeoman wondered. The Alliance had a number of operatives on the sun baked planet of Tatooine, all here to foil the Black Sun's plans. Yeoman had volunteered to sabotage one of the Black Sun's racers, but that was before he remembered that being in the sun for this long was bad for his aquatic skin. As the pod zipped past, Yeoman could begin to see that his work was taking effect. Fire was coming out of the right engine and Yeoman knew this pod-racer's odds just got really slim. (If you want to know more about Yeoman, go back to this post and you can find the other parts of his story)

There are two different contests going on right now, that could be what's confusing you. This contest is in Watto's Junkyard though, so I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. Maybe you can post links to help clarify? Either style is fine!

Same here, checked "mop" and your past entries all showed up correctly for me.

I and a Moderator tested the tags and they still work for both us of. I would recommend trying a different browser to see if the problem is that.

UPDATE! The deadline has been extended to Aug 2nd! UPDATE! The prizes have been listed! What has, for decades now, been the history of the Star Wars universe after Return of the Jedi will officially be replaced this December. The story of the Expanded Universe has been told through dozens of books, some of them good and some of the not-so-good. But for many Star Wars fans, those books have been on equal footing with the movies. It has been long enough now since Lucas announced that he would be re-writing Star Wars history, that those of us who are EU fans have come to terms with the fact. But before Star Wars 7 is released, I want to celebrate the former EU with a contest. Because the EU covers too large an amount of time, this contest will only deal with events taking place between 4 ABY to 24 ABY (ABY=After the Battle of Yavin). The contest will also only include content found in books, not video games or e-novellas. Each entry will need to cite which book it is from (exact page numbers not necessary). The following is a list of books that can be used for this contest: For those who are less familiar with the EU I would suggest checking out Wikipedia and Wookieepedia's sections on the New Republic era as that is where all the books you can build from are found. Category A: Show an interaction between the good guys and the bad guys. Maybe Jacen and Jaina Solo are trying to escape from Qorl, the TIE pilot. Maybe Corran Horn is helping to defeat the ghost of Exar Kun. Maybe Talon Karrde is trying to survive an encounter with Admiral Thrawn. Or maybe the Rogue Squadron is facing off against Ysanne Isard. Whichever characters you choose, this category should be about the interaction between them. This is not a contest about for making the best custom EU minifigs. This category will be judged based on how recognizable the setting and interaction of the characters is. Category B: Build a ship from the EU. This should be a ship that does not appear in the films but only in the EU. Exceptions to this would be ships owned by specific people such as Kyp Durron’s X-Wing or Ysanne Isard’s Super Star Destroyer the Lusankya. Other exceptions would be variations on ships like the Stealth X-Wing. Examples of ships that are only in the EU would be the Wild Karrde, the Sun Crusher, the K-Wing, TIE-uglies, etc. Category C: This category is all about the creatures of the EU. Build a brick built Ysalamir of Myrkr, a Crystal Spider from the glitterstim spice mines of Kessel, one of Talon Karrde’s Vornskr, a battle hydra used by Exar Kun, or any other creature from the EU. Alternately, you could use a creature already molded by Lego and create the setting from the EU in which the creature is found. You could build the wampa pack led by the one-armed wampa on Hoth, a Hapan horde of rancors, or other scenes. Rules One entry per member and per category. You can enter all categories with different entries, but you'll be eligible to receive only one prize. There are no size restrictions for any of the categories. The contest will run from 4th May to 2nd Aug, 2015. As long as it's still Aug 1st somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the contest. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. Digital entries will be allowed. All digital entries must use only existing pieces in existing colors. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum, the title prefixed by, "[sWEU] – category - entry name". (For example, "[sWEU] – Cat. A. - Jacen and Jaina’s Harrowing Escape".) A link must also be included in this thread for your entry to count. Post pictures no larger than 800x640, but you may link to bigger pictures. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. It is also prohibited to use the Lego logo in any picture. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. For each category, EB staff will choose the top 25, and then EB members will vote for their favorite entry among that selection. Prizes First place in Cat. A will win 75053 The Ghost First place in Cat. B will win 75046 Coruscant Police Gunship First place in Cat. C will win 75045 Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
MKJoshA replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Hi IGUNNUK33LU, we'd love to have you join the Empire, but you can only join as a Stormtrooper or TIE Pilot. You can find out more about these rules here. As you gain rank within the Empire your character has more freedom to do as he pleases. For instance, when you first start out it would probably be unlikely that your character would work with a bounty hunter (though not impossible if you can create the story for it!), but after you gain a rank or two you would easily be able to explain why your character is working with a bounty hunter or doing bounty hunter type activities. You should also checkout the Empire's main page, as well as this freebuild which gives you a taste for what's allowed as you gain ranks. -

Custom stickers, decals, or pad printing for minifgs will all be allowed. As for the build, I think if you're build wows people with how movie accurate it is, but doesn't have play features, that it will still get good response. I can't speak for everyone since each person's tastes are different. The main idea of the contest is to create a TLG style battle pack, but it doesn't have to be on the same level. My example entry has play features, but it's not something TLG would ever produce. I hope that helps clear that point up a little.

Ever since their attack on the Wolf Clan, the Algus had been ravaging the northern reaches of Mitgardia. Their cruelty knew no boundaries. Whole villages were massacred, families were found unexplainably frozen in solid blocks of ice, and nowhere seemed to be safe.

In Qarkyr, there are two distinct cultures. In certain parts of the city these two cultures can be seen across the street from each other. When it became clear that their city was not only divided culturally, but only in which war-ing faction they supported, the merchants of the city took up arms against each other. Having only knives and their fierce passion to win whatever the cost, the fight promised to be a bloody one. The sultan of Budd-apest had heard about the coming conflict and had sent one of his men to help the western merchants in the defense of the Desert King's right to rule. A dwarven captain stood on the side of the eastern merchants, urging them on to fight for the freedom that Ulandus offered. OoC: So I found out I'm really bad at building Asian style buildings. This was the best I could come up with. I hope you all like it.
