  2. If Waltz is playing the villain, I'm sold. I freaking adore Waltz. If Waltz and Rush are in this, hands down, greatest movie ever!
  3. Karie meanders back into the hall, if only for a moment. She had a busy night ahead of her, and it was starting to get late. Leaning against the wall, Karie opens up a small pocket mirror and begins touching up her white paint, She looks about the hall. Lawrence and, Thothwick. She walks up to the quest board. "Ennoc priests, Orc warlords, a circus? Sounds interesting. Don't feel like dealing with the affairs of more politically important groups." She kept to the quest board and pulled out a small book: "Bedfellows: the Art of a Healthy Sexual Relationship." Perhaps someone of interest would walk in shortly.

  5. Constitution Train Chase: /)3(\ SO AWESOME!!!

  6. Hey, look who has wifi? Oh, of course there was! I should have known! I'm waiting for Sandy to deal with them and debuff them. Any day now. Now you know how I felt back in 78! It's hard planning for a boss like that. The tank can turn into cannon fodder so easily these days.
  7. Alright, time to look at 86: Gaiden. First off, the battles, since they're always the highlights of your quests. I feel you ran into the same situation I did back in "As Thick As Thieves", the circumstances for my battles weren't designed to consider the "what if's". Doppel was a great enemy design, just like the Iron Knuckle, and was slaughtered by lucky rolls, and one big hulking beast, mainly Skrall in this case. It's a shame too when that happens, but alas, tis the way of the game. It's almost bizarre how similar the Iron Knuckle and Doppel are: both were "prototypes" so to speak, and their's probably more out there. Only difference is Doppel was created by demonic forces hellbent on killing humanity, the other is a zealous religious group trying to cleanse the world of what they deem as "sinful" which is just about everything. The characters were fun, Augustus is an interesting foil for Octavyn, and Olivia was fun to interact with. Doppel was interesting as an antagonist/victim. I feel his impact would have been more powerful had his battle been longer, but, c'est la vie. Now for character evaluation, cause I feel like acting like Zepher. Skrall: It was fun questing with you! Really, I love Skrall! He's such a levelheaded character. He doesn't really have any odd gimmicks, he's just a guy questing to support his family. I really dig that! I also love the fact that you took the shot on Doppel. In all honesty, you sort of woke Karie up in the sense that not everyone can be saved, and not everyone can be redeemed. I'd love to quest with you again, WBD! Baradock: Good first quest! I like Baradock as a character, and I like that his personality that we see. However, I find him really hard to interact with. He doesn't talk, so I can't really learn anything about him in character. Even if you said short phrases, like "yes", or "no", or "maybe", I could at least learn something about him other than he's a competent fighter and a terrible planner. I understand what you're trying to do, I just find it hard to interact with you. Other than that, you were fun to quest with and the times I could interact with you were great! I like that you went and looked up some stuff about the characters you were with so you could bring up topics that you knew they'd react strongly to without making it seem as if Baradock knew who they were before hand! I really want to see where you go with this, and I hope to host you someday. Karie: Yeah, best I do myself. Karie went through some interesting interactions, the most important I think though wasn't with Doppel. That was important, but it's not as important as the one with Olivia. Karie's sort of jealous of her. Karie can't remember much of her childhood, which wasn't too pleasant, so to see this bundle of optimism bounce in front of her sort of makes her wonder how she's able to pull that off. It's weird how much I feel that adds to her character, but I think it is important. I will say, the quest did borderline Karie centric, which is not really her fault. The quest just so happened to be more Oculoids and more Syndicate. I sort of wish I didn't go on this quest since I did sort of steal the show... again. Then again, if I didn't this quest would most likely be sitting in the hall still. Oh well, I think Karie's got over somethings, and obtained new things to ponder about, so I think it was all around she did good. Not her best outing, but still good. I had a blast, you guys were great to quest with! Thanks for the quest Endgame!

  9. Karie giggles as Octavyn makes his remark. She moves away from Masson, her face rosy from the cold and from the kiss. "Of course. I'll see you tonight, Masson." Her roses in tow, she moves to the party. "Well, gents, it was nice to meet you. If you guys want to sit for a drink some day, I'd be up for it. Barradock, at least I think that's your name, right? Anyways, you did good back there. I'll see you around. I got to get somethings done. Until then, lads! It was good seeing you Octavyn. And you as well Olivia. If anything comes up, let me know." "Mreoow... <Karie. Home. Now!>" With a wave back, Karie makes her way back to her apartment, somewhat unsure of what lay ahead of her. OOC: Thanks again, Endgame! It seems at this point we're nigh inseparable with the amount of your quests I've been on. I'll have my thoughts up in a bit, but it was a fun quest!
  10. I don't really care for Top Gear. Sure, the clips I've seen are humorous, but I don't think that's enough to sell as a full blown line. Maybe a set? I just can't see this sell. Or they'll just sell it in the UK and do something similar to the Olympic figs and cast aside other buyers. I'm still peeved about that. I know it's irrational, but I still cannot believe why Lego wouldn't sell those figures outside of the UK, particularly with all the exclusive parts in those packets.
  11. OOC: Just as a heads up, there's a good chance I won't have internet access on Saturday and Sunday, so if this gets carried on and I'm silent, it's because I'm farther north for a train show in a hotel room with ludicrous prices for wifi. Karie was too distracted to catch Skrall's statement.
  12. I'm fine with people asking how long will a quest take before signing up. It's during a quest where I take annoyance, particularly with the Marketplace Quest and the Baltarok trilogy as of late. You signed up for a quest that the QM has put a lot of effort into. If you don't get back in time, tough luck, deal with it. You made an obligation to the quest you're on. From what I saw, 77 was good. I didn't see enough to get a full perspective, but I did enjoy watching what I saw.
  13. "It may not sit well with me, but... you seem to know what you were doing back there. Perhaps it was foolish to think after what those demons did to him, he could've been saved. I guess what I'm trying to get at is... I don't think I have the guts to kill someone out of mercy. I don't think I'd have the ability to do that Skrall. End someone's life in order to end their suffering. And I don't know if I respect you for that, or loathe you. I just wanted an answer. At least your open with your decision, I can respect that. Thank you." Karie sifts about the streets as the storm dissipates. She huddles with the rest of the group as the cold winter air begins to settle on her uniform, Hershey purring in her arms Returning to the base, Karie emits a small, but discernible smirk seeing Olivia and Masson topside. "Told you it was nothing important." Liar. Karie looks the kid over. She still had trouble remembering her own youth. Few moments popped into her head, but little of it seemed vivid or clear. She was curious who she took after more. She turns her attention to Masson, his face as red as the roses he carried. "Masson, it really doesn't matter to me. I'll be getting them one way or another, but if you want to, I'll take them now, just to avoid you the embarrassment." She hugged him as she took the roses.
  14. OOC: The only thing missing is Grumpy's Staff, which I need to rename. Thanks Flipz! Karie watched as the mass of the man washed into the ocean, leaving nothing but his bones behind. She crossed her arms, looking at the bones. "There's more of them out there. More of those... things... And here I hoped to be rid of those... things." A tinge of fear ran down her back. She had something new to fear now. She turns to Skrall, looking over the weapon used by Doppel. "Retribution isn't a very original name." She looks the macabre weapon over, pondering over it's use, it's black metal sharp to a point. "I think Doppleganger will suffice. Thank you." She straps the weapon on her belt, adding more to her bizarre collection of weapons. She then looks up at the towering ogre. "Skrall... I'm not saying what you did was wrong, but why did you shoot at Doppel back in that hellhole? I think I know the answer, but... I'm not entirely sure if I do." "I'm ready to head in if you guys are. My uniform's almost soaked through." Hershey emerges from the crates, her fur drenched, and looking pitiful. "Mreoow- eoow. <K-k-karie... I want to be cuddled. Now>" Karie cringes, seeing how hypocritical her comment was seeing Hershey, who would fit in with a shipwrecked crew. She picks up her trusted feline companion up and begins to cradle her. "Augustus, take care, alright. I'm in the same boat as Skrall. I wouldn't say you weren't helpful. You stopped Doppel from getting farther into the city. If it weren't for you, we'd probably be going through the city looking for him." She looked his weapon over. Perhaps the story behind it would reveal itself one day, but for now, she was at least content knowing that the two brothers were on mutual ground.
  15. Oh, oh, a scapegoat! Right over there! He's to blame!
  16. Hehe... you don't say?
  17. He also had a week until retirement. As a note, try getting low level heroes for your first quest. They're easy to manage, and they're not to heavy hitting and hard to calculate. Typical.
  18. OOC: Nope. Just use it on who you want to. "Skrall, we've got to attack Doppel, now. I could go last, I got a boat load of remedies, so if someone does get hexed, I can reverse the effects. As well, I got immunities to hexing, so don't mind me." Karie attacks Doppel from the back row.
  19. Hey, it's my theme song. No joke, I'm known as the rail fan in my group of friends.
  20. OOC: First post says I came into the quest with two. My marketplace post says I bought two. Unless you want me to have an extra one and decimate the boss. "We need someone to take down the Shard. Skrall, we need Doppel mimicking someone besides Augustus, or else we'll be sitting here forever! We should save those syringes for when we need them, since as it stands, we can't really attack Doppel and deal significant damage."
  21. Is the person in my avatar Karie Alderflask, or Doppel?

      Kintobor

      A combination of the two!

      That's a little messed up.

  22. OOC: Why is it bad that you've come back? Current Sign Ups for Quest 91: Eric Tryvar, level 19 Shaman (Myrrdyn) Purpearl Berthadhiell, level 3 Mage (Purpearljellyblob) Althior Emorith, Level 36 Necromancer (K-Nut Alexis Fenral, Level 35.5 Harlot (Masked Builder) Matthais, Level 1 Ranger (nstickney) Drake Flamerobe, Level 11.5 Knight (xxlrocka) De'kra, Level 21 Sorcerer (Tanma)
  23. OOC: I should be down a pumpkin bomb and the Pixie Dust should be gone as well. Doppel's level should be 50, not 60. Also, what's the shard's level? I'm assuming it's the level of the attacker? "You sure you can take a free hit from Doppel, Skrall? I'd add some conditional action, incase one of us takes out the shard before the other gets a good hit on it." Karie attacks the Doppel Shard A from the backrow.
  24. OOC: As of right now, we're still figuring out something, Cyros. We're in no real rush. Unless you guys are antsy to get on Baltarok, which we're pushing as of right now. Also, WB, make sure you give Octavyn and Augustus orders and a spot on the battle order as well. "Ah, so his weapon is immune to everything. Someone's still gotta deal with it though, from the back preferably. Minimizing? It shrinks opponents, I believe, cutting down their health and their attack power to 10% of it's normal value. What that dust does, well, why not find out?" Karie whips out her Scroll of Frailty, and casts it at Doppel. "Klaatu, barada, nikto..." Who wrote this stuff?
