  1. "Neither is witchcraft apparently. You don't see me huddling around a cauldron laughing maniacally. Probably should though one of these days just to tick Thothwick off." She gives a short giggle before returning to her juice, "I don't know, I'm doubting this whole Hinckwell rep thing's going to end well. I've got reputation with the Shadeux now, so I more or less need to find a way to get the Hinckwell's to notice me again. And I just so happen to have Zeigfried rep, so, yeah. Although I hear there's a lot of people going in for Necromancer, right? Ugh, it'll be like every two bit raider and assassin out there. No offence, Sorrow." Karie loosens her sweater's grasp around her neck, feeling it just to make sure it was still attached to her body. "Sorry, I just get the heebie-jeebies hearing about... well..." Using a finger she traces a line around her neck, "you know, people getting their heads cut off. Heard enough about it in Charis. Some groups almost seemed to live around the bloody guillotine, waiting to see who'd take the axe next." "Hmm. I guess that's understandable." Karie grabs another sweet, taking a bite out of it before continuing. She decided not to press on Sarah, realizing he could slip back into that other personality of his. "Yeah, it's Masson. And, well, no, I don't think so. At least not for a while. Although maybe, once I either get out of here, or get on that one quest and hit the jackpot, yeah, maybe I could see myself with a kid. A kid, mind you. One's enough for me, thank you very much. They cry, they're annoying, they need everything in the world once they hit an age where they can talk, god, I couldn't stand it. You know what, no, maybe I don't want kids. I just realized how much it sucks taking care of the little things."

A large set of wooden doors sit next to the entrance to an apartment. On the lower section of the street, a young, energetic looking woman leans on the wall, while a group of Town Watchmen stand around a fire, feverishly warming their hands around it for warmth as they tell stories of their service. Their employer, Nicole Telsa was nowhere to be found. It seemed they had arrived early. QM Note: Wilkommen, bienvenue, welcome! You guys know the drill by now, so if there's any issue with your stats, let me know. As well, if I screw up anything, please, let me know! This should be a quick and simple quest, so I hope you guys have fun! With that, let's get rolling!
  4. Acrobatic tricks.
  5. It won't be up until 6, at the least. I've got exams, so I'm currently less in the know on this site than I usually am. I'll have it up as soon as I can. Sorry guys! We should be in the clear once the weekend rolls in!
  6. In the end, that's all that really matters to me. If the players had fun, than my complaints have less footing. I thought that was the case, but still, it sort of caused an issue. I thought it was cool, don't get me wrong, but it the issue was present. I liked Lilith's cameo as well, it was a welcome appearance, particularly since her last appearance was back in 78.
  7. Karie shakes her head, "Typical. I don't even want to know why they handed it out." She takes a slug of her water. "Considering my luck, it'll only be a matter of time until a group does torch my house down!" Karie lets out a short laugh. Her smile soon turns to a look of pensiveness. "It's crossed my mind, more than once. The thought of turning to necromancy to... well, do necromancer related activities. I got some rep with these Zeigfreid guys. They're quite the odd bunch, aren't they?" "Seems as if I constantly get out of death inducing situations by the skin of my teeth. If you could call that "evading the reaper". Oh well." "Lawrence is a hypocrite. Prime example of "do as I say, not as I do." He's all about choice, so long as he agrees with that choice. Dyric's just... he's less of a jerk, I suppose. He's somewhat level headed, but... ugh, I'm going to have to go into a long winded story, won't I? Dyric, Thothwick and I were hired to obtain a crate of bombs from a group of hired hands, which apparently belonged to the Shadeux. The two houses met after we had gotten the bombs. I said we should return them to the Hinckwell's since they hired us. Dyric and Thothwick decided to give them to the Shadeux. Despite all this, I backed the party in the fight against the Hinckwell men, and I still got labelled as the villain. Thothwick is a two-faced prick. He could of came out and said "I don't like witches" and I would've been fine, but he held it against me, and gave me the shaft after being labelled a fool. Out of the four of the them, I think Thothwick ticks me off more than Lawrence. Particularly after I healed his sorry... I'm going off on a tangent. Sorry. Well, might as well make this story time, if you'd like." Karie grabs a small tray of sweets, placing it on the table, along with a pitcher of juice, pouring herself a glass, and take a long drink. "It was just back when I returned from Brendenton. I had gotten off the boat and was rather hungry. Noticing this boat in the harbour, I sneak aboard and decide I'd steal some apples. Guts and this little imp fellow notice me, and eventually Guts grabs me, lashes at my legs with Sexy, and tosses me and the apples overboard. That and I can hardly swim." Karie picks up a small candy and pops it in her mouth, her mouth puckering. "Rather sour. Still tasty. The date? It went well! We went out to dinner, than hit the theatre to see a revival of an opera. Exciting enough for one night. You ever go out for any shows?"
  8. I see what you're getting at, but there was no way of getting out the info I needed in any other way, unless I asked someone to insert Maxwell and Amelia in a quest or had Endgame continue on in 86 with a sidequest with Karie and Masson on the date, which I feel as if would be self indulgent as well. I'll try to cut down on them though, and that's the last of the huge cutscenes. Thanks for the advice!
  9. Karie sits down, pouring a glass of water. "Hmm, you don't say," Karie snickers, "who gave you that one, the Watch? They'll give anyone a title these days it seems. Who goes out and gives the title "A Hero Who's Actually Worth Something"? Well, must be better than being branded a "witch". It's as if I'm all of a sudden the bane of all existence now that I am one. Not like I wasn't before, just seems like life find's cleverer ways of kicking me in the rear. Helvetia... she's worshipped by Necromancer's, right? Alright. Went out on a date last night with Masson. It was honestly a welcome experience after what I've been through as of late. More tentacle demons, and prior to that Dyric and that idiot Metasimian. The two of them... along with Lawrence those three make the Triad of Idiocy. That and Gots, or whatever his name is, he fits in there somewhere." She takes a sip of her water, looking about the hall, seeing who's present.
  10. Probably platform heels. Go, go, disco!
  11. Meet the Alderflask's

  12. Karie returns to the hall, still taken back by the morning's events. She moved up to the bar and looked about, seeing Arthur and Sorrow both in the hall. She decided to catch up with her relative first. "Hey gramps, what's new with you?"
  13. Date Cutscenes done! I hope they weren't too dragged out, and somewhat informative.
  14. --- Two figures walk up the wooden stairs to the third floor flat. The wind was still but city was frigid and the air thick. The older man turns to his daughter, looking her over with a bit of optimism. "Well, we're here. It's been four years, Amelia. Four years. It's strange how much can happen in four years." "Father, are you going to be alright? I mean, I just don't want this end up being some red herring." "I know Amelia, I feel the same way. Well, only one way to find out, I suppose." The older man steadies himself, his arm at the ready. He knocks on the wooden door. Shuffling. An individual gets up, and moves closer. Ever closer. Until finally, the door opens. "Can't you see we're..." Amelia looks bewildering at her sister, while the older man focuses to the back of the flat, where a man awkwardly begins look for his clothes. "Karie. Would you be willing... to explain why in Ennoc you're in your underwear with a half naked man in your bed?" "Maxwell... aw, son of a- and here I thought I could get out of that reputation." "Karie, you're not... a working woman, are you?" "What, no! No! This is my boyfriend! This is Masson. I met him while I was on a quest." "You? Questing? You've joined Heroica, haven't you? You're risking your life out there!?!" "I think now's an excellent time to show myself out. Karie, I'll see you soon. Thank you for... going out with me last night. It was... well, romantic." Masson kisses Karie on the cheeks and bolts for the door, grabbing his purple cape on the way out the door, pulling his pants up while he does so. Maxwell and Olivia look in confusion at the sight, only to revert back to Karie, who attempts to avoid eye contact. "Miss Karie, do you mind telling me what the hell you're doing in Eubric, and in Heroica for that matter!?!" "No. Actually, I don't need to tell you squat, "dad". Not like you really are my father..." "Karie! How could you say something like that to your father! I came all the way here to see my sister again, not for you to disown us!" "Well tough luck, cause my real sister is dead!" "Karie, stop spewing this nonsense! Father, why don't you... father?" Maxwell, leans on the table, picking up one of the empty bottles, looking it over. He looks at his two daughters. "It seems you found out on your own, eh Karie? Hmm. I figured one day you'd wonder why your sister had brown hair and you had ginger. The Alderflask's have always been black or brown haired," he turns to Amelia, dropping the bottle on the table with a "thunk", "Amelia... I adopted Karie at a young age from a young teenager named Kayla. Kayla would eventual become Violetta. She's not your biological sister." Amelia stood there speechless, trying to form words, but not able too. She turns from her father, looks at the door for a moment, then exits. Maxwell heaves a heavy sigh. "Karie... do you hate me. Do you hate me for adopting you and leaving Kayla behind?" Karie doesn't respond to the man who took her from the Hovel's nineteen years ago. She looks about, picking up her pants and putting them on. She puts her cape on and looks to Maxwell. "I don't know. I really... don't know. I honestly don't know what to say. I mean, I remember bits of my sister but she's-" "Dead. So I heard." Maxwell gets up off the table."Karie... if you need me, I'll be in town for a bit. I've got business to take care in the city. Just... send me a letter or something. I... better find your sister." Maxwell slowly walks to the door, but before opening it, he looks back at his adoptive daughter, soaking her in. "I'm glad your alright." He leaves Karie alone in her apartment. She sits down at the table and thinks her adoptive father's words over.
  15. I've had an idea to host one with Karie's adoptive father as the quest giver (who's a contractor for the Shadeux), if that would tickle your fancy.
  16. I feel the same way. Nothing was set up. If we'd seen Hoples munching on a pastry, and learning the pastry had cherry filling after the "I Spy" phase, I'd believe the cherry connection a bit more. But instead, just like Watsap's reveal, nothing was set up. It felt like it came out of left field.
  17. Karie and Masson return home after the show, their face's red from the cold. "Masson, thank you for everything tonight, I had a wonderful time!" "Of course, I enjoyed our night out as well! Now then, I think I'll stay here for a little bit. Perhaps we could pull out a drink or something, or-" "Masson, go sit on the bed." "Um... why? Is this.. um, Karie?" Karie turns her back to Masson, who begins to rub her makeup off with a cloth. Masson sheepishly sits on the bed, loosening his bow tie. Karie drops her dress on the floor, kicking it aside, turning back to Masson. She hastily takes of her bra and tosses it aside, her corset goes next. Sweat pools off of Masson's head as Karie turns back to him, naked except for her underwear. Masson's face turns bright red. "Only if you want to, Masson. Sorry, I guess I should've... asked... first..." "Karie... I, um... I'm not to sure about this..." "Sorry. I just... well, you know. I thought we could... I thought maybe we'd be at that point in our relationship. Sorry." Karie goes to grab her clothes, but before she can, Masson sputters something out. "K-k-karie..." Making a hasty decision, he begins to strip too. Karie lies down on the bed with Masson, helping him out of his formal attire. Karie turns over and blows the light out, as she rolls over and proceeds to make out with Masson. "Meine dammen un herren, madames et meisieurs, ladies and gentleman, we apologize for the sudden and jarring ending to the current scene, but the content is extremely sexual. Don't worry however, we can describe what is going on! Alright, it seems they just started getting into the foreplay. Seems the young man's never gotten to home plate, wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean? Well now... that's certainly... arousing! Is that even legal?..."
  18. I feel as if I'm on the losing end of this debate. If the party had a good time, then that's all that's important in my book.
  19. A notice appears on the quest board, the Tritech Company logo stamped on the bottom of the page. "The following people have been chosen to assist the Tritech Company in the delivery of the Vibrataphone: CHOSEN HEROES FOR QUEST 91: Lord Lawrence Boomingham, Level 29.33 Paladin (Zepher) Hybros, Level 26.66 Assassin (JimButcher) Ellaria Arbour, Level 25.5 Druid (Sandy) De'kra, Level 21 Sorcerer (Tanma) Please be present at 46 Halibut Avenue in the Harbour district at six tomorrow evening. Dress warmly. ~Nicole Telsa" OOC: The quest will be up tomorrow. Sorry guys, I'm incredibly busy. You have tons of time to shop and see your fellow heroes off in the mean time. The quest will be short and simple, and I hope you guys like it. We'll probably be back for Flipz's quest, so here's to that. See you in a bit!
  20. Alright, I gotta get this off my chest, now that 87 is done. Watching it, I didn't like it. I felt it was flawed heavily. You had a great concept: items were stolen from the market place, and the party needs to find the culprit. However, I didn't care for the execution of the concept. The whole look and find aspect didn't cut it for me. Puzzles shouldn't give out experience, since players need to be on at the same time in order to be given experience. Otherwise, what appears to be them not participating is in fact them being in a different time zone. I also didn't care entirely for the conclusion. I wish you indicated early on that Watsap's hat had extra room in it. It would have made an excellent Chekov's Gun. Instead, it came out of left field. That and the huge scene of the market immediately felt as if it was using player knowledge versus character knowledge. The ex-heroes should have been suspects as well, but because the players knew their previous occupation, they were immediately ruled out. That being said, the character, sets, and cameos were great! I really love Hoples, and I wish I had the parts to build him, but alas, i don't. It was great to see Lilith and Serevan again, and I did enjoy the sets you built. I just wish there was an actual mystery going on instead of a bunch of Look and Find puzzles and a rather confusing ending. I am however curious to see where the side quest goes. The only reason I'm being harsh is because I felt this could have been a great mystery quest, instead of what it turned out to be. I'd love to hear your thoughts, Sandy, and of course, like Zepher, I want to see you do your best.
  21. Current Sign Ups for 91: Eric Tryvar, level 19 Shaman (Myrrdyn) Althior Emorith, Level 36 Necromancer (K-Nut) Drake Flamerobe, Level 11.5 Knight (xxlrocka) De'kra, Level 21 Sorcerer (Tanma) Ellaria Arbour, Level 25.5 Druid (Sandy) Johon, Level 26 Raider (Bricksandparts) Lord Lawrence Boomingham, Level 29.33 Paladin (Zepher) Hybros, Level 26.66 Assassin (JimButcher) Sign Ups End in 24 Hours!
  22. Karie and Masson make it to their seats in the crowded theatre, relatively close to the stage considering the seats were in the front section of the middle row. Karie felt a tinge of regret as she sat amongst the crowd. Her sister had been murdered in the back alley of this theatre not months before. She sat with Masson, who removes his purple cloak. "Jeez, I think I'm about to split the dress, supper was that filling." "Well, that's good to hear, I hope you liked it. I believe the show starts soon. I was afraid we'd miss the show, the restaurant was that jammed." "Well I'm glad we're here. So far it's been quite romantic. I don't think we'll need to worry about crowds, after the show. Masson, I was wondering-" The orchestra begins to play, cutting Karie off mid sentence as the house lights dim. Masson looks at Karie for a few seconds, his face flush red. Karie, her excitement hardly contained, held Masson's hand as the curtains opened, .
  23. "Well, I better be off, lads. Sorry for the short visit, but I've got a show to go to. I'll see you in the morning!" And with that, Karie was off and out of the hall. Masson would be there soon, it seemed she had dawdled in the hall for far too long! She rushed through the streets and back to her place.
  24. Karie notices Johon motioning her over. She makes her way through the bar, leaning on Johon's table. "Eh, not much. I'm only hear for about an hour. I got a date tonight."
  25. Karie closes her book as she looks at the entourage of people leaving for Baltarok. It seemed so far away. She couldn't run off now, with her date looming over head. She moves up to the bar, looking about for someone to talk to.
