  1. What does that make me, though? Karie tends to be my icon, and female NPC's have been my avatar before. Does that make me a cross dresser? The more I think about, the more I got to get my actual sigfig up eventually. Maybe he'll be in Karie's outfit or something, who knows. Also, the next quest I'm hosting will go up whenever Baltarok finishes up. It's title is "Alfendi Lupine Strikes Again!", and it will have Shadeux rep.
  2. Actually, this raises an interesting thought. It seems we as a community having never seen each other have made some rather humorous assumptions as to what they imagine us to be outside of the forum. So, I guess the next logical question would be when you think of a member of the forum, particularly the QM's, what do you envision?
  3. "We can talk about my nineteenth birthday later. As of right now, we need to consider the fact that any damage that has a greater range than only one target is going to hit Polaris, as in if one of us starts going gungho with their spells, Professor Polaris is everywhere at once."
  4. Wow. Sorrow just took out all of the students with a Grim Reaper.
  5. OOC: Sandy, what exactly does Special Mirror do in this case? Karie's a witch, after all.
  6. Quest 94: Go Now, In Peace Overall I'm pretty pleased with this quest. Honestly, this is probably one of my favourites that I've hosted in awhile. I've been working on and off on this quest for at least four months, coming back, rewriting, and changing things until I finally got a plot that both supplemented the first and built on the characters, while still continuing the story. I consider Grim Grinning Ghosts akin to laying the foundation down, and Go Now, In Peace to kick the plot into gear. This quest was originally going to be a lot different, but quite a few elements remain, including the final fight with the skeletal dragon and Violet tagging along as an NPC. I knew I wanted the quest to have a tonal whiplash right near the beginning to get across that we've moved past 61's lighthearted atmosphere into some rather serious threats. In the end, the quest was a little linear, but I don't mind it so much. The party could've missed reading the journal, or gone straight into the room with the locked door first. There was choice, but not as much as some other quests offer. I was hoping to get some of the original 61ers, or 74ers, but since they're all either on a quest or inactive, I think it was neat setting a new group of heroes into the cemetery setting, since it allowed for some rather different dialogue between the recurring NPCs. Some of the sets could've been better, but I'm pleased with how the Dastan Comet Killer came out. The NPC's were a lot of fun to play, with Amber's sort of two faced personality and Violet's naivety. Battles I apologize for the Onslaught. I perhaps should've realized the potential of having a level 30 and a level 11 in the same quest and the varying amount of free hits being dished out. However, the other two I'm proud of. The von Zarovitch battle looked tough, but still rather quick, and the Dance with Dragons was also pretty fair. I perhaps dropped too much loot during the final fight, so sorry to everyone if it seems I splurged on the party. I added Violet to the party to allow the party to have something to interact with and because I really adore Violet. She's just one of those characters I really wish I could use more often, but I can't because she only really fits in the cemetery. I also felt she'd help in clearing out certain enemies with her being a Gravedigger, and because I love the NPC class and think it needs more love. Characters I don't think I've seen a group fall apart this bad since 84. Although most of you managed to make amends near the end of the quest, so it's not as bad. It seemed this quest was tailor made for everyone in some shape or form, and I'll go over why in the discussion, as well as analyze some things you did, because us bronies do that a lot or something. Erik: First of all, welcome back Khorne! I hope you enjoyed the quest, since it seemed to really resonate with Erik. He made a lot of interesting and dare I say thought provoking decisions this quest. Not striking von Zarovitch, his rebuttals to McCreary, he was such a stubborn character, and I think he really stood out. He's a stick in the mud, and I appreciate that in characters. You managed to do prideful and arrogant without it getting annoying, so job well done there. Erik really was a good fit for this quest, and I hope to host you again sometime. Avalanche: Perhaps you were expecting something different out of this quest with straight undead killing, but I'm glad I brought you along. I love it when party members start turning on each other, and your distrust of Violet and Althior was fun to watch, as well as your eventual decision to believe that not all undead are evil. I also enjoyed seeing how Avalanche's evolved from his first outing, I really love his character as someone looking for more of his people. Keep up the work, and I hope to host you again! Throlar: I was a bit weary after some of the things you did back in 77, but it seems you've grown a lot as roleplayer, and you've gotten better at making decisions with the party in mind. Throlar was a fun character, and I enjoyed the little side quest that he engaged in. Despite your disappearance at one point, you were active and your interactions were fun to read, particularly with Erik. The one thing I'd advise is to be careful how you use Meldrim. I understand what you were trying to do, but I think he'd be better off as a character who Throlar interacts with in between quests. Be careful what you do with him, because he could become either a fun addition to the character, or an annoyance to other players. Other than that though, I enjoyed having you onboard, and I hope to see your roleplaying improve as you continue to play, and potentially see you on another of my quests! Althior: I really dig Althior, and I hope he took something from the quest. His conversation with Violet near the beginning of the quest was really, really damn good. I really get the feeling Althior's trying to show off this cold, hardened exterior, but inside he's lost. I saw it back in 79, and I'm seeing it here. I love the interactions you and Avalanche had, and I also adore the interactions between you and Amber. All in all, you did a great job! I hope you enjoyed the quest, and I hope to host you again some day! I'll post the side quest up shortly, as well as some of the references, so other than that, I hope you guys had fun, and I hope to host you all again sometime! If others would like to post their opinions it would be greatly appreciate, since I read all of them. See you all next time! -Kintobor
  7. QM NOTE: McCreary most likely heard you and decided not to respond.
  8. That's a wrap, 94!

  9. McCreary glares at Erik, drinking away at his whiskey. "I do not know how my daughter was resurrected, but in one aspect, you're correct. I'm certain you've had moments yourself when your past catches up to you suddenly, and unexpectedly." "She was always a troublemaker, even before she joined Heroica. I'm surprised she made it through the academy to be honest. I expect she'll return from wherever she came from... as much as I fear the day. He takes another swig of his drink, taking a deep breath. "I understand, Althior. Despite this dour turn of events, you've done what you set out to do, and you've done me and this cemetery a great service." He reaches into his robes and pulls out four red pouches, laying them on the table, the sound of coins jingling against one another as the hit the table. "One hundred and fifty gold, as promised. Thank you gentlemen. I'd advise leaving through the backdoor to avoid attention. I'll make sure the watch gets the information they need." The party leaves the pastor and Jensen as the two get up to see them off. "Farewell, heroes. May we meet again during better times." The party trudges to the front cemetery gates, Althior's undead having seemingly disappeared. They head back out onto the street where shops were beginning to open, and people were beginning to go about their business. As they cross the street, the party can see Town Watchmen begin to file into the area, a few entering the Way's End Church, as McCreary's outline lets them in. Whether Amber would show her pale face again, the party did not know, but her attempts truly showed that Eubric was, and is, an ever changing city... The Quest Was Successful! 10. Karie stirkes Exofors from the back row. If it's already down, she strikes Olegaia from the back row. If Olegaia's already down, she strikes Galidoor from the back row. If Galidoor is already down she strikes Belvel from the back row.
  11. OOC: I'll wait for K-Nut to say something before I wrap this up.
  12. "No, unless you count "playing cards" as me saying I skipped classes and played poker and blackjack with a bunch of boys. It all ended when I gave one of them a broken nose when he tried to make a move on me. Look, me at eighteen and me at nineteen are two completely different things."
  13. "Gah, once again, probably should've paid attention in that class instead of playing cards with the people I hanged out with. Still, I took them to the cleaners every time we played! That being said, Polaris, anything we should know about the planets? I know this is an awkward time, but can you tell us about them?"
  14. McCreary listens intently, looking shocked at the news he's hearing. It takes him a minute to register with him, but he finally takes a swig from the whiskey bottle. "It seems I owe you... some background history then... Amber... Amber was my daughter. At the age of eighteen, my attempts at convincing her in following the teachings of Ennoc, a path my forefathers had followed, failed, and she quickly joined Heroica. I went of to assist the Kingdom of the Red Lizard in the High Kingdoms shortly after that, leaving for two years. In that time, she had become a well trained assassin and changed her last name. It was during her second year that she signed up and was chosen to head north to Värtland with four other heroes to stop a brood of Wendigos, undead creatures that eat and prey on the living. Needless to say... only two returned. I heard about what happened shortly, and against my orders, I left the High Kingdoms and sailed for the north. It took me seven months until I finally found the spot where most of the party had met their end. I found the corpse of the raider, his limbs torn from his torso, frozen solid. The were-tiger... she'd been eviscerated. Her internal organs had been removed... forcibly. I later learned that two of them escaped the fate of their fellow heroes, the Battle Mage, Pyro the Visionary, and a knight, Emmanuelle Janus. They both left the organization two years later. Amber's body though... I never found it. With my name tarnished, and my reputation ruined with the Paladins, I came into the position of pastor of this church. All of this... happened four years ago." McCreary takes another shot of whiskey, looking on the verge of tears.
  15. OOC: There should be an autosave feature near the bottom. Use that.
  16. "Does someone with more remedies than me want to toss one on one of the afflicted students? Just a thought."
  17. "Okay guys, see you in a bit!" Violet waves goodbye as she rushes back into the cemetery, fading off into the row of tombstones. Perhaps the party would see her again someday. At that time, they did not know for sure, but for some, her involvement had more meaning than others. Violet has left the party. The party enters through the back and file into McCreary's office, a green orc, tending to his wounds. Throlar's companion sleeps in a chair near the back, snoring slightly. McCreary eyes the party behind his desk, looking exhausted. A bottle of whisky and a half full glass sit next to him, a large book laying on the table. Bandages cover his right leg and his robes hang on a coat rack, drenched with snow and blood. A wooden cane rests on the side of his desk, looking as if it had just been pulled out. McCreary clears his throat, only to be cut off by Jensen. "Look who's came back from their trip. I hear the crypts are nice this time of year?" "Jensen, enough of your pathetic jokes! Especially after I had to get someone to drag you over here!" McCreary coughs into his elbow, looking at it for a few seconds as if he expected something to come out. Jensen gives him a worried look, the priest turning to the party, taking a deep breath. "Gentlemen, I'm glad to see you're fine, since it means that you were successful in your attempt to stop whatever was down there and resurrected the paladins, but that still doesn't put me in an opportune situation. I felt it, Jensen felt it, I'm certain the entire district felt it: there was a tremor that came from the tomb you were in. With what's been going on in the city, I can already see the Town Watch and the Paladin Order rushing here, looking for answers as to what the hell is going on around here, and I guarantee they'll come here first. I need to know what went on down there, and I want to know everything: who's behind all this, what were they doing? I can deal with the officials for you four, since Heroica has a less than stellar reputation with the Watch." McCreary looks at the party, worry in his eyes. What will they say?
  18. "Well, here goes." The tentacle like whip engulfed her hand and wrist again, ink splotches dropping on the floor. Karie strikes Belvel from the back row with her Oculoid Palm.
  19. "Oh great, more demons, shocker. And their all etherial as well, so mages don't bother casting spells. I can attempt to deadly poison one of them with this rusty dagger, but I don't know if it will effect the students. If you got a suggestion as to what you want me to do, let me know, since I got some nice, non elemental weapons here."
  20. Go Now, In Peace is almost done. You'll have a party for fighting whatever's up in that tower.

With their enemy dealt with, the party returned to the surface. The morning sun glimpses over the horizon, the snow on the ground turning to slush. Trekking back through the cemetery, the party can see undead figures moving about. Violet notices them and speaks up. "No need to worry about those guys, I know all of them. Their probably heading back to their graves at this hour. We only come out at night to avoid the eyes of the living. I think everyone in the city believes the cemetery's haunted, but few actually know. You know, all the negative attention we tend to get." The reaches the back door to the Way's End Church, Violet lingering near the back. "Well guys, I guess this is so long. I never would've gotten my heart back if it weren't for you guys, and you also helped out the rest of us undead here by getting rid of that necromancer and her cronies, so thank you. It means a lot knowing there's someone out there looking out for even us in this cemetery." She looks the party over, her brown, rotting teeth showing through a small, honest smile.
