"Bwahaha! Well, at least you got out in one piece, lad. Bandit's can be pretty cutthroat." "Alfendi Lupine's still at large, but I wouldn't worry too much. He's more high profile than common thief. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if some of his men did dirty work for him." Sven yawns. "Of course. I await our next meeting, Darksten. May fortune smile upon you." Sir Armin stands up and hobbles upstairs. Kianu looks about drowsily. "I can wait for you to finish up. That woman with the bandages seems to have a set of tarot cards. I wonder if she reads fortunes..." The bandaged woman casually looked through her cards, staring at each one with disinterest.

"I heard something, the screaming of kids in the upper floor. We should clear this floor out before-" "SQREE!!" "Yes, Guineviere, we haven't forgotten you... we should clear this floor out and then head to the upstairs. If need be, I'll go grab the janitor. Something tells me he's back at the broom closet." Karie rubs the falcon's head as it surveys the music room. "We've also got these kids to send off, and some of the others that ignorantly walked off. Shall we go and do one last look around and see if we can find any of the missing kids?"

If you had it so they were previously established enemies, you should be fine, but grabbing an opponent from an active quest, while neat in concept, I can't see working.

Sir Armin nods in approval. "Of course. There are many religions and beliefs in this big wide world, and I don't intend to push my beliefs on anyone. If you ever wish to learn more of our church, feel free to visit the Cathedral. Now then, if we're finished here, I suppose I'll head up to bed. Is there anything else you wish to speak to me about?"

Excellent MOC! Really remarkably well done!

"Alright, shall we split up again? Or shall we search the rest of the school together? We've still got the Girls Lavatory and the Student Lounge to check out. I thought you guys grabbed the janitor? Where's he at?"

Karie rubs her temple with her fingers, feeling nervous from head to toe. "Nothing. It was nothing. I thought I heard something, but considering all the noise and screaming, it could've been anything."

Karie shrugs. "Just give me the loot." Karie takes her share as she listens to Syrio mumble to himself. "Wow Heckz, you managed to get more out of him than we did. Say, Fioretto, you said you served in Charis's army. How long ago was that?"

Karie frustratedly throws her hands in the air. "Look, I don't see anyone else here intending to go minstrel. So if you would pass some of that over to me I'd greatly appreciate it."

Karie allows her whip to coil itself back around her arm as she leans on the wall, eyeing the loot on the ground. "Um... no one minds if I take the True Love Serenade? And the Angelic Trumpet?... and the Vagrant's Guitar? Heckz, perhaps we should send the students off? Where's the box?" Karie pats down her person and pulls out her white paint and her pocket mirror, fixes the smears and smudges on her body. The singer is useless against the demon of cacophony. Another hysterical failure to add to the ever-growing list. Karie looks about frantically, stopping what she's doing. Her heart beginning to race as she eyes the room. Was someone... talking to her? No one else seemed to notice. She began to question her own sanity as she looked to the party. Should she tell them? Would they understand? "Did anyone else hear that, or am I finally going delusional?"

Armin smiles. It's hardly noticeable, but the elderly man shows a small sign of mirth as clasps his hands together, resting them on the table. "Of course. It's only natural for one to want more than they already own. It's how the economy works, and grows. Indeed, there was a time I went out on "adventures". Not in your sense of the word, but still, I did my fair share of travel as a lad. I am surprised to hear this, but I understand. Indeed I am a priest. I am also a banker, as many priests of Mercutio are. He is the patron deity of richness and poverty, of coin and trade. He is often depicted with either the moon or a spider, and he's considered quite the trickster. Being the most revered deity in Eubric, he has quite the influence. I see countless merchants and other clients who need their books kept or their taxes looked over. Being a ranger, I don't know how important a deity like Mercutio would be to you. However, if you'd like to see me again, I'll be returning to the Cathedral of Commerce in a few days time. I'd be more than willing to speak to you more there." Kianu seems less interested, trying to avoid falling asleep as she shakes herself occasionally.

"No, no you're not. We're just wrapping up business. Unfortunately, I'm a busy man and must get some sleep soon. I have business elsewhere tomorrow." "Yes, it seems it is getting late. Unfortunately, I'm heading to bed shortly too. I have a long journey to Bric'Bay Fort come morning. However, I do wish you all the well." Hastily grabbing his records and documents, Nolan tips his hat and heads upstairs for the night. Sir Grackett motions for Darksten to take the now empty seat. "Financial tips? Well, seeing as how you're an adventurer, I'll tell you something you already now, but novices still seem to forget. Buy your goods ahead of time. Eubric is a commercial powerhouse: goods, services, you name it, it's here. It's because of this that Eubric's prices tend to be lower since quite a lot goes through the city. Once it goes out further, it becomes more expensive. The Guild of Invision sells things at the market for wholesale, where with a merchant you generally have to pay extra since the merchant needs to make his fair share of profit as well. It's how the world work, lad, the coin. And once you realize that, the world becomes your ocean filled with opportunity... and potential failure." He ponders for a bit, glancng at Kianu. "Although, I doubt your friend cares much for the ideology behind money." Kianu shrugs. "It's not something I really need, honestly. The clothes on my back are all handmade from stuff lying around the brush." "Naturally." Grinko crosses his arms, looking a little angered. "Sounds like your off to an excellent start if you've already run into bandits! I've heard the infamous Alfendi Lupine's managed to escape Eubric and is now prowling somewhere in Uland. He left with a small group of Wolfgang defectors. The scum..." "You've done many a traveller a great service. Who knows what they might have done had you not dealt with them. How'd you run across them? Mugging some poor merchant or traveller?"

I won't chastise those who said their character reminds them of themselves: sometimes a character is created by blowing a personality trait you have out of proportion. However, I was hoping for more media based characters from books, television and the like. At this point, Karie reminds me of Helga from Hey Arnold. Both have personalities they hide inwards while showing off a different exterior persona, (with Helga, she's rude, snarky while hiding her emotions about Arnold who she's desperately in love with, with Karie, she's snarky and seductive while hiding her emotions around her failures and her insecurities with herself) and both also had neglect in their childhood in some form. (Helga's older sister was the favourite in the family, and Helga was often forgot about, Karie got similar treatment but from one of the parent figures.) Also, they both have Bronx accents.

"Or both." Karie states bluntly.

They can run out of ether. Then they're screwed.

Time for a topic boost. More often than not, as we portray our characters, we begin to realize they may seem familiar to other characters we've seen in other media. So, the question is: who does your character remind you of as of right now?

"Hehe, I thought you'd like it!" The dwarf smiles, looking drowsy. Sven, meanwhile, smiles reassuringly at Deus's comment. "It's good to know though that at least someone's doing good these days. All I ever here about is betrayal and backstabbing."

"I suppose I will. I'm just glad that one woman left. She seemed a little intimidating." The barkeep nods nervously, looking throughout the bar for any potential danger. "Of course, *sniffle* sir." Darksten walks over to the table where to men sit, books and documents surrounding them. One of them, sitting with his back to the wall, checks over numbers and other scribbles, scratching his thick, white beard occasionally. The man sitting opposite looks on, realigning his glasses occasionally. He can hear the end of the conversation as he approaches with Kianu close behind. "... are the books in the black?" The old man looks over the documents intensely, his hand thoroughly placed in his beard, his other clenching a feather pen as it scrolls down the papers. "......... They appear to be, Nolan." "Oh, thank heavens! Heinrich will be pleased to hear this!" The older man closes the large, leather bound book just as Darksten gets close to the table, the two men looking at Darksten and Kianu. The older man spoke, his voice deep and beckoning. The man's voice projected throughout the inn as he spoke. "Ah, I see we have some company. Good evening, my name is Sir Armin Grackett of the Church of Mercutio. Do you have any business with books? Taxes, income, deposits?" The other man was much more feeble in appearance and voice. He was much more quiet and hesitant than the banker. "Um, hello. I'm Nolan. I'm a trader working for the Hinckwells. How do you do?"

"The barkeep did suggest to drink it ASAP, didn't he? If you don't want it, I wouldn't mind having it." Lydia thinks long and hard about what Darksten says, grabbing her drink only to remember it's empty. "That's a sentiment the world seems to be losing these days, Darksten," she gets up from her chair and leave her money on bar, the barkeep's pale hand scooping it up from behind the counter. She walks for the stairs to the rooms upstair, saying one last line as she does so, "don't lose sight of it." And with that, Lydia disappeared to the upstairs room. Justin peeked his head up from behind the counter, looking around worriedly. "She's... she's gone? *sniffle* Well... that's at least one less thing that's going to *sniffle* kill me. Can I get you anything else? We'll be closing the bar soon." The dwarf seems shocked at Hoang's sudden appearance, but laughs it off. "Well, I'm glad to hear the enthusiasm! Well, then, let me try and remember the events... Have you ever heard of the Suicide Cliffs? It's a sharp, steep drop on the southern coast of Uland that drops straight into the ocean. There's a bunch of legends pertaining to the area, but what I saw that night still gives me the willies. It was a crystal clear night, the sea was calm, and the small coastal ship I was on was close to the cliffs. We were heading to Goland, a curious island off the coast of Uland infamous for it's curious mountain and it's flat, sandy soil. We were sailing as smooth as silk, when something happened, something truly terrifying. A dense fog rolled in and our visibility turned poor, the stuff as thick as stew! And then I saw it from the corner of my eye! A spectral ship! It's sails tattered, the rigging working on it's own! I stared in awe and horror as the unmanned ship moved it's way through the dense fog... and disappeared into the night. The rest of the crew saw it, too, and for the rest of the journey we held baited breath. The sailors were afraid it was a bad omen. Thankfully, nothing became of it. We arrived at Goland safely and I continued my expedition around the island. Of course, with my age, it may have been a trick of the light, who knows." "Well it certainly sounds harrowing. Then again, you've claimed to have done more harrowing things, haven't you? I mean, seeing a ghost ship is scary, but what about your run in with that Hobgoblin war chief?" Grinko chuckles at the young man's comment, nostalgia in his eyes. "I thought I was a goner there too! Bwahaha! How's that for a ghost story, knight? I hope it wetted your appetite?"
