"Well, I would prefer a warm bed over the common room," Kianu replies, sounding a bit more cheerful, "are you going to drink that hurricane?" Kianu sheepishly waves at Lydia from behind Darksten. Lyida shakes her head. "It's important to have good company around. The satyr, she seems like a good kid. However, you seem new to the big wide world, so I'm going to tell you something from experience: trust is a hard thing to earn. I'm certain you feel similarly?" The dwarf laughs heartily, nearly falling off his chair. "Preparedness is an important skill for any adventurer! Let this be a lesson in being ready for the great wide world we live in! You never know what you'll run into out there! Call me Grinko, kid. Grinko Copperdrill!" "My name may have been mentioned, but I'm Sven of the Sheep tribe." Sven frowns, looking disappointed. "Surely you must have something to share? You seem like a ranger of some sorts?" As Sven looks puzzled at Deus, Grinko seems to have remembered something, a twinkle glistening in his auburn eyes. He leans closer to the table, scanning the inn curiously. Finally he speaks in a hushed voice. "Perhaps you'd like to hear of a more recent expedition? A ghost story perhaps? Deus, would you like to hear it?" "Perhaps this is one story I hope isn't true..." Sven shutters the thought.

Sorry, I've been a little busy. I'll update the quest in a bit, but for the time being simply bolding your action works with most QMs. I'll update your stats when you do.

Justin raises a thumbs up from behind the counter, his hand quaking in fear. Kianu doesn't say much, but looks away from Darksten. "You seem disappointed about it?" The woman nods her head. "I can see where you're getting at. I've got my own goals I'm trying to achieve, not that you'd care much. My situation isn't one I necessarily want to be in," she takes a long drink from the bottle, finishing her drink and resting it on the table, "then again, most situations in life are like that. A mercenary, eh? What about your satyr friend? She also a merc? She seems a little young for this line of work. By the way, the name's Lydia." Kianu still seems a little intimidated by the woman, sheepishly sticking behind Darksten, sipping her water.
-
I've said in the past that any character who the party keeps alive will live to see another quest. We haven't seen Lydia in a while and thought the inn seemed an appropriate place to see her. Yes, Hurricanes are back. Tremble in fear.

"Sounds good enough to me." Karie strikes the maracas from the back row with her Oculoid palm.

Justin shivers from his hiding spot, trying to explain himself while sniffling uncontrollably. "S-sorry sir, I m-meant if he wished to rent a room he c-could do so and rent o-one for the night. The rooms are non-refundable, but since you're f-friend hasn't paid for his h-he could change his m-mind and p-pay for it! "Kianu opens her mouth to say something, but looks down, red in the face. It seems Darksten's made a better argument. "Yeah... I suppose you're right..." The barkeep hands Darksten and Kianu their beverages, still crouching behind the counter. "I'd recommend drinking the Hurricane before the night is over, sir. Few drinks taste good warm." Kianu grabs her water as the woman beside the duo chuckles. The satyr instinctually moves behind the ranger. "Featherhead's got this idea in his head that everyone's out to kill him. Apparently he almost did meet the end of a blade a few months back when some green guy came in looking for some Shadeux fellow. He's been like this since I started stopping here whenever. I'm a mercenary for hire, but... my life's been like a ship in a bad storm: rocky and rough. Things could've been different though. A lot different." She takes a long drink from the bottle, looking nostalgic. When she finishes she turns back to Darksten looking inquisitive. "So... where are you and you're, uh... satyr friend heading off to?" "Well then, laddie, it's yours!" Grinko scoops up Deus's coins and rummages through his sack, eventually pulling out a plain, but comfortable looking bedroll. Bedroll (Allows the user to rest and regain health in a safe place) The young man, Sven, takes a drink from his glass, smiling afterwards. "Perhaps you'd like to stay and chat with us? Share some stories or what not?" SP is your defence. The more SP you have, the more damage you resist. It's deducted from the final damage score, so if you have SP of 3, and the attack you receive does 8 damage, you only get hit for 5. 2. It's how Sandy tallies how much damage you do. Some QM's use it, but it's basically your level plus your weapon power plus any other modifiers. I generally don't use it, but it's their for those who do.

"Well, it's a nostrum mixed with whiskey, sugar, cherry syrup, and some ice cubes. Better order it fast, though. I figure my day of reckoning is coming soon..." He sighs, looking on edge. Kianu seems a little unimpressed at Darksten's comment. She crosses her arms and stands her ground. "I'm not a kid, Darksten! I'm certain I can handle myself if I'm stuck in the common room." "Um, sorry gentlemen, no refunds. Just... please don't kill me..." The barkeep seems to shrink behind the counter, sniffling as he does so. The woman uncomfortably shifts at the bar as she continues to consume her drink. "He's usually like this." The woman's voice was much more mature than her look suggested.

This reminds me of 70 where my Syndicate Karie avatar was confusing Endgame.

The dwarf chuckles in low tone. "Straight to business, I see. Shame, I was hoping you'd be interested in joining our conversation. It seems like all you young adventurers and kids have no time for simply talking these days: it's always straight to getting to business. Take young Sven here. Only eighteen and off on his route to purchase some quality lambs to return to the mountains with. If I hadn't of run into him in Bric'lin, he'd still probably be there!" "I got a little lost, so what?" The young man turns to Deus, looking a little embarrassed. "Grinko here's an old school adventurer. He says he's been all the way around the world, and seen many sights and people. Xu, the High Kingdoms, Dastan, the ruins of Fortaan-" "But I haven't been everywhere! I'm on my way to Eubric. I'm getting a ship's passage to the Summer Sea, and heading straight for the Eversummer Islands! I've heard the place is straight out of a picture book: sandy white beaches, and crystal clear water! After my last expedition I could use some rest and relaxation!" The dwarf laughed heartily, taking a swig of liquor before returning his attention to Deus. "Now then, I heard you want a bedroll. Well, I just so happen to always pack a spare for everything, and I'm more than willing to help a fellow world adventurer! I'll give you the spare bedroll for five gold if your interested. Sounds fair?" OOC: Their the same character, it's just I didn't have all the parts, so I had to improvise. It seems Zepher's just happy to see the inn he created get used again.

QM Note: Actually, you'll be getting an option as to where you'll sleep, which you'll see shortly... And, gah! First real blunder of the quest! It should be one. Kianu giggles to herself, looking amused. "We satyr's are a cultured lot, and we generally allow our youth to start drinking the god's nectar at a young age. In all honesty though... it's a little gross tasting. My dad's a bit prone to the stuff though..." Darksten and Kianu walk up to the bar, the bar tender pouring a drink for the individual beside the two. The individual turns to face the two. Obviously Darksten thought wrong in thinking the person was a fellow. The woman appeared to be in her mid-twenties, a large scar dashing across her eye. Her body seemed fit and in shape under her light armour, more brawny than most women the two had seen. Looking bored, he turns back around to her drink, motioning for the barkeep to pass her the bottle. Kianu seems a little weirded out by the woman, keeping close to Darksten. The barkeep speaks up. "Um... *sniffle*, welcome to the Weeping Inn. I am Justin, Justin Featherhead. Tonight we have our usual drinks on tap. Sometimes we get Akrone specialty wine, but the shipment hasn't arrived yet. Perhaps something to eat as well? *sniffle*" "I can pay for myself if need be, Darksten. I'm not that young." "... " The Weeping Inn's Liquor Cabinet Ambrosia - Causes the reinforced-effect, double the target's defense for the duration of one battle. Costs 57 gold. Flame-distilled Brandy - Causes the encouraged- and the immune to ice-effects for the duration of one battle. Costs 24 gold. On the house. --- "A room for the night costs 10 gold. I unfortunately only *sniffle* have single rooms left. Sorry. However, we also have the Common Room. It's free, but... it hasn't been cleaned in a while," the barkeep sniffles yet again, "I can also mix you up a hurricane, only 17 gold."

Deus isn't really quite sure where any of these vendors he's looking for are, only that the barkeep would most likely sell him a drink: guaranteed. This is an inn, after all. Taking a stab in the dark, Deus shouts out in the bar, hoping someone will hear his plea. Heads turn, but few seem interested. He hears a voice perk up from the back. "Oi! Laddie! Yes, you in the back! Haha, why don't you join us for a drink! Perhaps I can arrange a bedroll for you!" A dwarf in a large winter hat beckons him over, a large rucksack laying on the floor beneath his feet. The table he sits at is covered in foot, drink, and various adventuring gear. The young man across from him shakes his head, chuckling. "Master dwarf, you certainly are gifted with the gab." "You got that right, sonny Sven! Why not pull up a chair and join us? We'll see about getting you a bedroll." QM Note: Of course! I asked the same questions once upon a time, no need for embarrassment. 1. Of course. You can swap artefacts and weapons at will outside of battle. In battle, however, you can only swap weapons at will, artefacts take a turn to swap. 2. Yes again. Once again, no penalty for taking consumables outside of battle. In battle it'll cost you a turn. 3. That was a goof on my part. Kianu, as a cleric, can heal party members outside of combat equal to her WP+ her level at the cost of 1 ether. However, I'll recommend against it: you're at an inn, and a good night's rest generally heals party members back to full health, but for future reference, if you guys get knocked around during a fight and want to heal afterwards, Kianu has the ability to due so.

"Stuff Happens". And the Weeping Inn from 84 return: Everyman-less, but still NPC filled.

"Darksten... thanks for the share, seriously, but being here with you guys and trying to get my father back is enough of a reward." She looks down the road, noticing something. "Hey, that's smoke billowing over those trees. Perhaps we're closer to an inn then we thought! Well, what are we waiting for? Let's see what it is!" The party doesn't walk far before snuggled next to the path is a small in. A few horses whiny in a small stable next to it. Light streams out from the windows, and inviting sight to the party. Having walked almost the entire day, the party enters the building, an establishment called The Weeping Inn, ready to rest for the night. The inn is relatively quiet, with only three tables being occupied, yet there was still ample noise and discussion. At the bar a nervous looking pale man was serving an individual. A curious contraption playing music sits to the barkeeps left, it's serenade drifted throughout the bar. To the bar's left a heavily bandaged woman sat with a deck of cards, looking through it with intent and intrigue. Two official looking men appeared to be counting numbers, while a young man and a dwarf sat at a larger table, both chuckling and enjoying some food and good company. Kianu shifts about, looking nervous. "I'm.. sticking close to at least one of you guys. Don't care who, but some of the people here look... a little weird." QM NOTE: Feel free to talk to anyone at the inn. There's a few things you can participate in, items you can purchase, and conversations to join.

Not really. I'm still got a backlog of quests, each with their own original titles. Then again, you've never QM'd to my knowledge. It's us QM's that are going to have a problem when the time comes when we have no more names. How about "Combat". A thrilling quest, no doubt!

We've already got the plan figure out. If you check the page before there's a detailed battle order that I think's been unanimously agreed upon.

I think it's different, and very neat! I wasn't expecting it at all, so good job, Zepher!

Perhaps the rule sheet floats away in the wind? But in all honesty, I'd love to see booster packs and different cards being created by QMs. I think it'd make for a fun side event between heroes. Get rid of the card snatching mechanic and I think it'd be fun player vs. player.
-
Well, we know Lord Duvors isn't a 90's kid. Either that or he preferred Digimon. Sell booster packs, and add more monsters. I seriously freaking love the whole Decamon game! Will there be a chance for Decamon to take Eubric by storm? I really hope this sticks around.

I can't believe the two of you managed to misspell "policies".

Party of 100: you know what you need to do if you want to become Decamon Masters! Please, please, please throw Decamon into more quests, Sandy. I need a full set!
