  1. QM Note: Update will come tomorrow. I've got some images to take, and unfortunately I'm away from my collection.
  2. "Oh, um... I'm really not good at intimidation at all, but what we really need to do is get these three away from the area before something breaks out, like, um, a riot, or something..." She turned to look at the teenagers protesting, feeling intimidated herself with the signs and the shouting.
  3. "Perhaps it is my opinion, then." Rollinger looks at Eric with a stern sense of resentment. Rollinger would remember that. QM Note: Sorry for the lack of an update, but I've been busy with Christmas stuff. We'll hopefully continue as planned.
  4. Karie feels weak, throbbing in pin from the previous fight. She realized where they were, but said nothing. She holds onto Sexy's hilt, feeling sick to her stomach.
  5. Karie plays Sphinx (Ethereal 7), snatching the Igniphant (Fiery 6). She then plays Simsalamander (Fiery 3) Apologies for not posting sooner. I got busy with holiday related stuff.
  6. "Is there any particular place they'd hang out? You see, we're looking for some advice, seeing as how we we're looking to purchase a ship but was hoping on some expert's opinion. We were told to come to you. Perhaps we could find them for you?" Annienal replies. She looked around for a clock or some other device that tells the time.
  7. Happy Holidays! I don't shout Merry Christmas until it's the 25th, but I guess that's a more North American thing. I'll be relatively busy for the next few days, so I'll try to update when I can, but I expect the following few days will be slow here.
  8. Annienal gulps loudly before deciding on her choice of words and trying to be as diplomatic as possible despite being a little panicked. "Mr... Bullsworth. May we come in? We've got some things to discuss with you, unfortunately not about your sons."
  9. Rollinger seems less than enthralled about Eric's story. "Humans are imperfect, Erik. Our struggles are probably far more interesting and life changing than the gods could ever understand. Why did someone decide to create five ritualistic relics? Why were they left where they were? How did they end up here, in our hands? The gods may work in mysterious ways, but in the end it is us mortals who must make decisions. Our gods, or ancestors, or whom ever you look to in times of need can only try and guide you in the right direction. Otherwise, why bother with us being here if they could directly answer us? My angel and lord guide me on my journey; whether I take their council is my choice, same goes for you." Rollinger takes a moment and leans back in his stool.
  10. Karie finds herself head first in the snow, just like every other time. She quickly gets to and tries to hold back her emotions. She felt sore and her back was continually throbbing in pain. She had had enough of being someone else's mouth piece. "Let's just... get this thing over with." Karie switches to her Blazing Palm and strikes the Spine from the back row.
  11. "Don't you fret, sir! Our water is as fresh as you can get! Of course, sirs!" The bartender grins, as he hands the duo their room keys. "A story, eh?" Rollinger muses, scratching his chin. "Well, I've got one, although I'll admit I'm no story teller. I was in and around the countryside here in Uland with two other knights of the cloth. It was my first outing as a paladin, and I was going to meet a man who would help me find my angel. We were walking through the woods when we were approached by a young woman who was fret with worry. She told me a beast had attacked her brother and that it had dragged him to it's cave. The three of us agreed to track the beast down and slay it, with the assistance of a huntsman who lived in the young woman's village. We followed the beasts trail to a steep ravine in which it hid in its cave. When we came upon the beast we soon realized this thing was not normal. It had scars across its face and muzzle, fur had been falling off in clumps, and the smell of death seemed to stick to the creature like a foul aura. It didn't look at us for a second before this misshapen beast charged us, digging into one of my comrades in arms. We swung at it mercilessly, praying for some divine intervention. Soon it was only me and the bear left, myself bleeding and the wild beast seemingly near death. It charged at me, ready to gobble me up in a single bite; yet that did not happen. I do not know why, but I got onto my knee and I prayed to my god, sincerely and honestly. Through some higher calling, my angel appeared before me for the first time. Defending me from the creatures maw, I took the opportunity to drive my blade into the creature's head, slaying it for good. I managed to find the young woman's brother, surprising still alive but close to death, and saved him. To this day I still do not know why my angel is androgynous; every time I try and ask it why, it does not talk to me. It only asks of me to reflect on myself. I am no perfect man, but no one is. That was the day I became a member of the Paladin Order, and I took my true first steps into enlightenment, and to stop the forces of evil. Like I said, not the greatest story in the world, but one I hold dear. So, is this going to be Uncle Rollinger's Story Time or do you three have any stories to share?"
  12. Karie plays Toxic Toad (Plant 1), hoping her luck won't run out.
  13. "Didn't you try to control me too? Why else would you pick love, Johon? It just proves more and more that you can't control your feelings for me. Face it, you've managed to stoop the lowest level, and now you're trying to cover up your own tracks. Do not try and pin this on my Master."
  14. It's probably just to make the film more accessible to a wider audience, so that Pixar doesn't have to worry about alienating a young boy demographic if they had an all female cast. Which is silly, but is also business and the industry theory that boys won't watch anything with a female lead (which is also silly, but that's another topic entirely). However, if Pixar does go this route with a potential gender fluid, bisexual, or something else in that spectrum for the character. than colour me incredibly surprised. The amount of LGBTQ representation in family entertainment has started to grow slowly yet surely; it's not a whole lot, but it's better than nothing. I was really interested in Inside Out until the trailer, which I thought was pretty lukewarm. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't as interesting as I hoped it would be, and the humour wasn't that great. Oh well, it's just the trailer so hopefully the movie will be better.
  15. Karie nods her head in disagreement, her usual playfulness missing, replaced by bitterness. "Then what do you have to say about the love poison and your attempt to bend my mind? I specifically told you to give me sadness. Instead you decided to give me love as a means to manipulate me, Johon. People who live in glass windows shouldn't throw stones."
  16. The bartender giddily pours both Heckz and Throlar a drink. "Two water, for the two of you! So, gentlemen, will you be staying the night? 10 gold for a room, or you could all sleep in the common room for free! It's up to you, of course." "Bartender, a bottle of Flame Distilled Brandy." Rollinger motions for the bartender, who gets to work getting the paladin's bottle ready. "I'm surprised none of us really talked about ourselves. Well with the nord I kind of understand why," Rollinger grins at Erik, "but still, it feels weird how we've travelled for three days yet I hardly know you three. Shall we share stories? I have the time."
  17. Annienal tried not to look to suspicious standing about the front of the Captain's house. "So... um, are we going to knock?"
  18. "Shall I tell why you need to be put down, you overzealous, pompous, pigheaded oaf?" She continues to smirk at Masson, seemingly enjoying the torment, until it turns into a look of confusion, slowly morphing into resolve. "Curious. I can remember those people. Vividly. Very vividly. I... I don't need them, not while they continue to pollute this planet." She seemed a little unsure of herself.
  19. She shows a hint of enjoyment out of seeing Masson's weakened state. "Of course, Master. I shall do whatever it takes to wipe these cockroaches from the face of existence." "That's exactly the reason, Paladin." Karie sneers, raising a finger and pointing it at Boomingham cockily. "The Regret is crushing the ants at his feet and gloating because he has more power than you shall ever comprehend. What you say is hypocritical, as well as meaningless in the face of my Master."
  20. Karie feels herself taking backseat as the familiar sensation of being controlled by someone else takes over; someone she preferred didn't even touch her. She allows the Regret to brush the hair away from her eyes, burning a deep violet, her voice now dead serious and losing any and all sense of charm. "It would be more than an honour to serve as your Devil, Master; it would be salvation from those insufferable traitors and imbeciles who stand before me. Do they not see how pointless this all is? How they will lose this fight, Master?"
  21. 200 gold and the title of True Hero. It's in the Veteran's Note.
  22. Will fix once I post your stats again, which will be soon. The man behind the counter continues to grin wildly, speaking to Heckz peppily. "The Paladin Order in Eubric? Well, that's about another two days from here, isn't it?" "Yes, we shouldn't be too much longer. One more night at another inn and we'll be finished this arduous task." "What are you interested in drinking there?" The Wayward Angel Inn's Liquor Cabinet Flame-distilled Brandy - Causes the encouraged- and the immune to ice-effects for the duration of one battle. Costs 25 gold. Mulled Wine - Causes the inspired-effect, doubling the target's current and maximum health for the duration of one battle. Costs 50 gold. Mead (Causes the encouraged-effect, doubling the target's attack power for the duration of one battle.) Costs 20 gold. Ambrosia (Causes the reinforced-effect, double the target's defense for the duration of one battle. Costs 70 gold) Water (Refreshing and clean. Also diminishes the possibility of dehydration.) On the house. The bartender looks at Throlar confused, but still looking incredibly upbeat. "I'm sorry, who's Lucifuge? If you'd like, I can pour you a glass of water!"
  23. QM Note: Apologies for the lack of an update yesterday, I wound up becoming pre-occupied in preparing for a dinner with relatives. I hope you understand. Wanting to get out of the cold, the party decides to enter the establishment. Reaching the building's doorstep, it's sign wavered in the wind; "The Wayward Angel Inn". Hesitantly, the party enters the establishment. The inn's quiet space is filled with the crackle and roar of a fire. It seems as if no one else has stopped in for the night, all of the table's empty. A large statue of a gothic angel seeming looms over the inn, her presence felt throughout the room. There was a pungent smell of cigar smoke lingering about, despite there being no such source. The innkeeper's already ecstatic expression seems ready to leap off his face as he notices the company entering his inn. "Well, hello, hello! Seems to be a rather uneventful night, wouldn't you agree? Come! Pull up some chairs, I'll get you some drinks if you'd like!"
  24. Annienal was more than a little flabbergasted at Warlen's statement. Old? The Ji Pei were the newest influence in the city? Now wasn't the time to question his intelligence though. Annienal winces at Hooks comment. She felt sorry for Miderun, as if here attempts to spare his legs were all in vain. She turns to Jun, trying to be as diplomatic as possible, despite feeling a mounting sense of dread. "The moment you cut off Hook's leg you will have started an incident with the Bonapartes. You do not want to start something with one of the houses as an act of retaliation, it'll bring nothing but chaos to this city. If it means anything, we are from Heroica, here for something to eat. If this involves the city, which it does, we deserve to settle this like civilized individuals, would you... um, not agree, Jun? He, umm, obviously hates orcs. Could you not instil a punishment involving that?"
  25. Fights? What fights? I think you should just have the enemies surrender with the party you've got. The Quest is Successful, now go home and stop being broken.
