"How should I know? As I said, I thought you looked familiar." Karie replied nonchalantly. She was bluffing, but she hoped it would keep this Sandman off her husband's tail.
-
Karie's eyes light up like a Grogmas Tree as Darksten approaches her. "Oh, well, of course. 650 gold is excellent." Karie hands Darksten the money and takes both the guitar and the sheet music. "Thank you kindly! And thank you for your assistance in the field, Darksten. It was noticed and appreciated."
-
Karie ordered another drink, this time of water. She notes Sandman looking at her hand, but says nothing of it. "How long have you been in the city? I know you're here to help slay this dragon, but you can't of just came straight to the hall?"
-
Karie shrugs, mainly from amusement. "Perhaps. Although, I can understand the desire to keep a name and a face separate. I'm going to assume your occupation is a rather "hands on" one?"
-
"Pfft. Try finding something that is free." Karie comments, trying to inject some humour into the conversation. She notices the demon worshipper had returned, and for once wished Monk Pretzel was here. "So, what's your name?" --- Current Sign Ups for Quest #137: Where the Dead Go to Live -Warlen Melimane, Level 16.5 Half-Elf Mystic Knight (The Chosen Minifigure) -Grimwald Gjinko, Level 19.5 Gnome Sage (LordoftheNoobs) -Throlar Wineghilm, Level 15 Dwarf Knight (Lord Duvors) -Vindsval Half-Born, Level 25 Half-Giant Witch (Asphalt) -Flynn Flisperer Lind Whisperer, Level 17.5 Elf Human Assassin (Lind Whisperer) -Sorrow, Level 30 Necromancer (Endgame) -Althior Emorith, Level 53 Prophet (K-Nut) -Boris Bruhlav, Level 5 Cleric (WaterbrickDown) -Calamity, Level 5 Mage (Scubacarrot) (Scuba, you need to update your stats )

Karie finishes her drink surprisingly quick, trying to avoid emotions. This guy was weird. "I see. So what brings you here? Besides a dragon?"
-
Karie nods her head and orders herself a drink. "Hmm. Well, maybe I have been seeing things." Karie responds. She felt like keeping personal stuff out of this conversation with a complete stranger.
-
"And who might that be?" Karie questioned, feeling she knew the answer. Although, stranger things have happened.
-
"Well, he's a dragon, right? No duh. I've done some stupid stuff, but even I'm not naive enough to fight a dragon on my own." Karie shrugs. "Ah, you know, I just feel like I've seen you before somewhere. Probably just my eyes playing tricks on me."
-
Karie notices she's being talked to and looks at the man in question, raising an eyebrow. Why are there so many uncanny lookalikes in my life... "That would be me. Is there something I can help you with?" She asks as politely as she can, feeling awkward around her hubby lookalike.
-
Karie also pins a notice to the board.
-
I'm so confused.
-
Karie taps her foot, wondering where Darksten is.
-
I'll manage... somehow. *buffing everything intensifies*
-
I just realized I'm going to be rolling for our first Master Class.
-
Karie grins mischievously. "You brought it up! I have to know what happened!"
-
"Then I don't think I need to tell you what it is you need to do." Karie replies. "If you're using your powers to defend those who can't, you're worth hanging around." Karie ponders on Vindsval's question. "This hall's ideals stand for protecting those who can't normally protect themselves. Of course, we're mercenaries through and through, but I would hope that there is an air of decency here. Not everyone here is a nice person, and not everyone here is trustworthy, nor even friendly. I wouldn't be worried about the leaders, so much as the other heroes in this hall. I can't tell you who to trust, but I'd be careful of anyone who tries to rally people blindly. Know anybody like that?" Karie inquires.
-
Karie sighs. "Some people view witchcraft as a taboo, and see it as old crones who sit around their cauldrons and mutter incantations to hex people and cause unborn children to be born with three eyes, or six fingers on each hand. Really, I never did any of that. I wanted to heal others and be helpful in that department, but it's not what I really wanted in the first place. I wanted to perform, and so after I get in good graces with the Hinckwells I'm jumping ship. Also, most of our rogue-ey types become arrogant raiders or assassins, and the clerics tend to go druid or paladin." Karie shrugs her shoulders. "Trust me, there ain't no shame in being unique. I can tell you that from experience!"
-
Clearly you are confusing a stake with a steak.
-
"Well, you're going to be only one once I'm finished. Hopefully if I get on this dragon quest, I'll be closing this part of my life and Minstrelling it up in this hall! Music all the time, every time!" Karie's body and soul are clearly ready for rock and roll. Karie crosses her arms. "Oh? And what happens when she does become a problem? One none of us can deal with? I'd rather deal with her now so she's not a problem tomorrow." Karie pushes the money back. "I've got enough money now. In fact, I'm rolling in money. You keep it. I'm worried about when this money runs out." Karie glares at Sorrow. "You've seen her act as judge, jury and executioner. You've witnessed her murder my sister. She sits on her seat and keeps the poor out of view. I do not condone of the Wolfgang's actions, but I also do not condone of the Watch's action more." "Anyone seen Darksten? I've got an offer for some of his items."
-
"Oh, it's you, um... I don't think I caught your name last time, did I?" Karie says, trying to think back.
-
Karie crosses her arms, looking sternly at Althior. "I still think this is an issue that should be dealt with. With the Regret dead, I'm moving my attention to getting rid of Patricia and Ulric, but that doesn't mean I don't care about this demon issue. I'd prefer if we didn't have demon worshipping cultists in this hall." "Um, well, yeah, about money..." Karie laughs awkwardly. "We're a little low on that, what with Masson taking a leave of absence. Someone's got to be out making the coin to pay for food, and I doubt it's going to be Masson. At least not for a while. Or at least not until I can get some good words with the Hinckwells."
-
"Oh, so you heard." Karie replies. "Yeah, well, I'll have you know I did have the baby. She's alright with Masson right now. We debated on what to call the baby, but in the end we decided to go with Rachelle. I've been through a lot of pain in this line of work... but I am never having another child." Karie remarks, shaking her head. "Oh, no, I enjoy being a Witch, and there is something thespian enough for me, it's just Dyric Rone, Assassin of the Idiots screwed me over and now I'm stuck having to go off and fight dragons in order to get in the good graces with the Hinckwells again." Karie responds, clearly annoyed. "There's enough psychos in the hall as is. Speaking of, I met a demon worshipping, human sacrificing cleric a few months back in here. She's a "hero" here, too. Her name is Calamity."
-
"What? Oh, yeah, I guess. Not particularly sure it's where I want to go with my already illustrious career, but I've thought about it."
-
Karie reciprocates the hug, smiling sincerely. "It's good to see you, Sorrow." Karie frowns after hearing about Arthur. "So I've heard. I've got his Bright Polish and his Unlucky Horeshoe, and I'd prefer to get it back to him." "Well, I'd prefer if it got to him, but I'd like to speak to him myself... oh well. I guess that isn't happening." She hands over the Unlucky Horseshoe and the Bright Polish to Althior. "I gave them enough of a personal hell." Karie replies to the Oculoid comment, although it's clear from her scowl and posture she'd prefer to leave it at that.
