Heroica RPG - Quest #134: The Sky Is Falling
Kintobor replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
Take note, all you would be daters. I'll pay you back. I just don't want to play a game of chance when I can get 100% immediate results. At this stage, I'm not taking risks. We're a little vulnerable and I need to fix my mistake from last round. -

OOC: Karie's got Special Mirror, meaning all enemies take 13 damage. Karie notices Darksten's efficiency. "Um... well, that was quick. Why not move onto another enemy, preferably the snakes." Karie continues to strike the wizard from the back row. Battle Order Karie Skrall Darksten Purpearl Althior Matthais -

Annienal winces as she makes futile attempts to get up off her back. She notices Vindsval approach her, but she can barely hear, his voice seemingly muted. The wind knocked out of her, she refuses Vindsvals healing and points to his Grand Potion. She could feel everything in her body feeling in sharp amounts of pain from bouncing across the courtyard, her helmet dented. She could feel something warm drip down from her forehead, and something in her leg feel out of place. "W-w- spread out! This is going to happen ag-again unless you spread out!" Annienal shouted at the top of her lungs, which wasn't amounting to much. Annienal heals Warlen from the back row with a potion. Annienal downs a mead from the back row. Miller attacks the Feet from the back row. Ogo and Oro target the Windpipe. Order and Suggested Actions >Vindsval Heals Annienal with a Grand Potion >Vindsval Remedies Warlen >Annienal uses a potion on Warlen >Throlar vs. Tail >Throlar vs. Windpipe >Warlen vs. Head >Warlen vs. Wings >Annienal downs a Mead >Sylph vs. Heals Hero with Lowest Health >Miller vs. Feet -
It's called playing Shadowrun.

A rather tattered looking orc stumbles into the hall, raising his cap up before stumbling in further. He reaches the quest board and takes note of the names on it. "*hiccup* Well, then, let's see who wants to go to ole Fellcrest..." Sign Ups for Quest #137: Where the Dead Go to Live -Mhinak, Level 4 Dwarven Ranger (Goliath) -"The Demon Germ", Level 8 ??? Rogue (samuraiturtle) With his notes taken, the orc makes his way out, noting something about "merry mermaids".

Mages can attack physically. I'm just saying it'd be wise for Walren to save his ether if he wants to keep slinging scroll spells. -

If you have an elemental weapon, or cast an elemental spell, you'll simply do WP+ Level or WPx2+ Level against Ancient. Being Encouraged still gives you a x2 modifier, but as a whole, Ancient enemies are elemental neutral, so there's no reason to use elemental spells on them. It'd be a different story if he had a subtype, like Ancient/Flying, but if you want to know more send me a PM. Scroll spells like Sleep and Sealed still work, unless they're immune to it. The only real way to get x4 modifiers on an Ancient is with a Hunter, since they can favour Ancient enemies. -
If that's the logic you wish to use, explain how one of them is a Dragoon?

See, Karie doesn't really like the Wolfgang due to the fact that Ulric sent her sister out to die, but she hates Patricia and the watch more for killing her and being corrupt all around. I could see Karie being lenient with the Wolfgang, though, if only because Karie is a very easily corruptible person (something we've seen, so I'm not pulling it out of my megablocks!) I think the same thing stands with the Veterans. Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely. It's the age old "with great power comes great responsibility", and I don't think any of the people in the running for control of the city have enough responsibility to run it (including "King" Guts ), and that's honestly great from a storytelling perspective. No matter how this goes down, there's going to be problems afterwards. Any hero as a veteran is a scary thought, except maybe Annienal, but they'd probably put her in the Library. The Starlet for Karie? I kind of like it.

Ancient types don't have any elemental weakness, nor any elemental immunities. You're better off saving your ether. -

OOC: Fixed, and don't worry about sleep right now. Just attack using your weapons. Spells aren't going to do much against an ancient type. -

Karie shrugs and tosses the Remedy to Purpearl. "Well, we're finished here. If we want a shot at that Wandering Monster, then we should be heading West, so either Ghastly Marsh (12), Gust Ridge (13), or we can try our hand at a the Firefly Mire (16), although it's designated as being "difficult" We could go east and finish up the easy stuff, but I feel like doing them at the end. Again, it's not all up to me. Where do you guys want to go?" Karie looks the party over. -

If you want me to have it now, I believe you need to give it to me before my action in order for me to attack twice. -

"Um, we're doing good guys! Keep at it, and, um, yeah, pummel the claws!" Annienal targets the claws from the front row. Annienal targets the claws again from the front row. Miller targets the claws from the back row. Oro and Ogo target the throat. Battle Order Vindsval Annienal Warlen Throlar Annienal Miller Sylph -
IF you ever get them. You're assuming Ulric gets into power, which might not potentially happen.

Oh, I feel so sorry for your actions having consequences.

Not if you removed either his Mythrill Dagger or his Dancing Shoes. I seriously can't believe how ridiculously buffed that item is. My goodness.

OOC: Warlen, I hate to do this, but I'm reversing the order of your actions, so you'll attack first and then cast sleep. Also, Annienal should be at 12 health due to the claws free hit, and and the windpipes should be bleeding by 10. Annienal gets thrashed across the courtyard by Lethauros' claws, her armour nearly ripped to shreds. "Warlen, your spells aren't that great when they don't work- ow! Target your attacks towards the claws, please. Lethauros's head is hexed!" Annienal heals herself with a potion from the back row. Miller heals himself with a potion from the back row. Poe targets the Windpipe. Battle Order Throlar >Warlen vs. head >Warlen Casts Sleep on the Claws Annienal Miller Vind Sylph -
Yeah, generally speaking, if Baba is indeed a Mind Flayer/Illithid, you don't want to mess with her. She'll charm/hex you, then use her beak to bite into your skull and suck your brain out. I am dead serious.

I'll also note that I've sent the Fellcrest quest pitch to Sandy, so with any luck they'll be three quests on the quest board.
