Non-physical Lego Characters In Physical?
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would love to see a whole range of characters from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, notably the likes of Carnage, comic Green Goblin, Doctor Strange, Dormammu and Winter Soldier. Sinestro from LEGO Batman 2 would be great as well, and the other LEGO games have also had plenty of characters which I would want to see in physical form, but I am unable to recall them right now. -
I'm loving the tagline on that first poster. As for those little character introduction videos, I found all of them disappointing other than Rocket and Gamora; the rest show virtually nothing new. Hearing Rocket's voice for the first time was good; he sounds great. As for Gamora's video, I find it interesting that it showed the making of a fight scene between Gamora and Nebula. I can't wait to see how that fight ends up playing out in the film. I can't wait for another trailer for this now.

I don't think you would have a problem getting it back with customs, because when I recently went to America I came back with An Unexpected Gathering and didn't have issues getting it through customs.- 9,756 replies

Well that was certainly not what I was expecting from this. It looks like it's going to be completely full oh humour, which is fine in places but I don't think it's necessary for the entire movie. At least it looks like we are going to get a lot of action from this film as well. I am disappointed that we didn't get a good shot of Ronan in the trailer. This should still be a good film even if there is humour overload. *EDIT* I noticed that, when the Nova Corps were talking about Star-Lord in the prison and showing his details, it listed Yondu as his associate. Not overly interesting I know, but it's just a little something I happened to notice.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

I'm liking the look of that Green Lantern flashlight that we're getting. If we don't get that as an actual minifigure, this would be pure evil for LEGO to mock us like this by showing this new design but never giving it to us in a set. Hopefully we get this Green Lantern next year in a good quality set, and preferably one without the presence of Batman (though this is obviously highly unlikely based on what DC sets we have had so far).- 9,756 replies

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow. I'm very impressed with all those movie sets. That new lair is wonderful and vastly superior to last year's, and the new Turtle Van is also pretty good. I'm less sold on the truck set but that still looks like a good set, especially when you consider that it comes with Megan Fox as April and Karai as well. Hopefully the minifigures (when we get good pictures of those) will be equally impressive. Until then, all I can say is that I can't wait for the movie or for these sets, even if they do look likely to be quite expensive. -

GotG trailer sneak peek. This is looking to be completely amazing. I'm extremely excited for this one now.

Consider me disappointed that it's premiering at that time, because this basically means I have to wait until tomorrow to watch it in the UK (seeing as the trailer premieres at 4:35am on the 19th of February in the UK). Hopefully this trailer will be worth waiting one more day for.

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Just finished watching Angel Beats today. The plot was certainly a very unusual one but it was very interesting. The concept of being focused in the afterlife is certainly an unique way to do things. Short though the series was, the plot was very fulfilling right until the end, even if a few plot holes were left in the series. I thought that the ending was very sad, considering all that had happened in the series. However, the little scene after the credits of that final episode left things on a happy note after all. Not as happy as the ending of Future Diary (not by any means) but still happy enough. Hopefully whatever anime I look at next will impress me as much as the four I have watched so far have done. -

That set looks amazing in this higher quality. The description mentions a Sakaaran soldier. Does anyone know what this character is? Ronan the Accuser looks interesting, if not unusual. I am still disappointed that he doesn't match his comic book counterpart. Also, is that blood on his torso? That would certainly be surprising in a LEGO set. I'm glad that Star-Lord has a moulded helmet after all, even if it looks highly unusual. Gamora looks better than expected in close-detail. Drax looks interesting as well. The Milano ship is an amazing build, and Ronan's ship doesn't look too bad either. I'm impressed with LEGO on this. Here's hoping the other two sets match up to this.- 9,756 replies

I'm not sure if I am really happy about the prospect of a Black Widow movie, or of her having a large role in AoU. I'll reserve judgement for now though. On the other note, it's great that we finally have confirmation of when we will see our first GotG trailer. I can't wait to see what is in store for us in the summer with this film.

That GotG set (from what we can see so far at least) looks very interesting. The ship looks like an interesting build and should fit in well with my current collection. I'm liking the look of Star-Lord, though I do wonder if his helmet is printed or a new piece. It's difficult to tell from what we have so far. Gamora looks relatively non-descript, but that's mainly because I don't care much for the character. The figure could still be interesting though. As for Ronan, while I do prefer his look in the video game so far, I'll be interested to see better quality images of his figure in this set, and also of how that looks in the film itself. It seems unusual to me, but I'll hold judgement for the moment. Better pictures should clarify everything. Until then, I can safely say that I am very satisfied with the outlook for the GotG sets. Hopefully the other 2 sets won't disappoint. Also, what do people reckon is the likely price for this set in the UK?- 9,756 replies

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like

I don't like having to double post but I would prefer the content of this post to have its own post. So I just finished watching Future Diary (including the epilogue). And I have to say, this series has been brilliant right from the off, and the constant plot twists and all the characters kept the plot thrilling and engaging. The concept of the show instantly gave me a Hunger Games kind of vibe which, as an avid fan of the series, immediately excited me for what was to come. As the series went on though, I came to notice that, unlike The Hunger Games, I felt empathy for the two main characters and desperately wanted things to work out in their favour. I won't spoil how that turns out, but I will say that watching the "epilogue" episode is essential and provides a wonderful ending to the series. I also found the Death Note reference in the "epilogue" rather amusing. Overall, it's a brilliant series (far better than Elfen Lied IMO, and I really enjoyed that as well). It may be a slight stretch of me to say this, but I also think this series was on par with Death Note (which is truly brilliant). I truly cannot recommend it highly enough. I think I'll take a break from religiously watching anime for now, though I will be watching my new Elfen Lied box set on Friday. After that, I have 10 days free of school to watch Code Geass, which will almost certainly be an interesting venture. -

Thanks for that very long list there. That'll sure be a hell of a lot to watch once I get through the rest of Future Diary. Speaking of Future Diary, I was surprised that no characters in the show noticed a plot point that was all too obvious until episode 7 (it was obvious straight from episode 1). -

Well in all honesty I am only just starting to avidly watch anime, but those I have seen so far have been constantly brilliant. I started with Death Note which, despite episode quality being lower after episode 25 (finale excluded), was a great series. The plot was fun but also complicated enough to make me think, and I was often left baffled by the sheer genius of some of the main characters. The plot twists in the series were great as well. Next I moved onto Elfen Lied. This was a different matter to Death Note entirely. The title sequence is very serene and peaceful, but then you get to the action itself. It's gruesome, to say the very least. Even so, and despite there only being 13 episodes, the series was very much enjoyable. Now I have moved onto Future Diary. I'm only 10 episodes into this one so far (there's 26 episodes overall) but I'm already hooked. The plot is extremely interesting and unusual, and all the characters so far have been very fun (even if many have been somewhat psychotic). The use of plot twists is also very clever and certainly keeps things interesting. I'm sure I'll finish this series in the next day or two. I also watch episodes of Pokemon every now and again, but the series has definitely seen better days. I also used to avidly watch Yu-Gi-Oh when I was younger, but I've heard that the quality of the show has greatly deteriorated now. I also watch a wide range of cartoons, including South Park, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Futurama (it's a shame that it has been cancelled) and numerous others. Those mentioned previously are fun to watch, despite the general lack of plot in favour of mindless yet enjoyable humour. I also watch Ultimate Spider-Man, but only select episodes of it, as most of them aren't at all good. I did enjoy some episodes though, such as the Dr. Strange, Deadpool and Guardians of the Galaxy episodes. Generally poor quality or not, I have appreciated the show for introducing me to numerous new Marvel characters (including Dr. Strange). I also watch Gravity Falls. Considering that this show was made by Disney, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the show and the sophistication expressed in some episodes. The underlying plot of the show (which only seemed relevant in a select few episodes) was very impressive and well-constructed. Obviously I was disappointed by the plot having such limited relevance, but the quality of the other episodes was more than sufficient compensation for this. I do watch a few other shows as well, but only casually. Generally speaking, I enjoy what I watch very much and can't recommend the 3 animes (Death Note, Elfen Lied and Future Diary) highly enough. -
Bought one LEGO Movie CMF and got Abraham Lincoln.

Wow. This news about The Vision being in Age of Ultron has certainly come out of nowhere. It's great news of course, though I do think that Avengers 2 is going to be very busy with all the characters currently involved. As ever with Marvel, the casting is excellent. Bring on AoU!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for those descriptions of the movie sets Zzz. They certainly sound very interesting so far. I doubt we will get pictures from New York of those sets, but it is very much possible; we did get pictures of The Lone Ranger sets from New York after all. I'm hoping the quality of these sets is more consistent than the TV show sets have been so far. Bring on NYTF! -
I'm pretty sure that it came out in early 2013 in the UK, though I do not know for certain.

Not sure if anyone was interested, but here is a new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I don't suppose anything was seen of the movie sets in Nuremberg? And what are the odds of anything coming from New York in relation to the movie sets? -
Well, I had seen quite a few movies last year, but if I had to choose my top 5, it would be as follows: 1) The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 2) The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 3) Les Miserables 4) Thor: The Dark World 5) Man of Steel Worst movie I had to watch was probably Monsters University. I had high hopes for it but found it sorely disappointing. Iron Man 3 was terrible as well, and not just for what they did to the Mandarin.

I think we're all saddened and somewhat frustrated at the lack of GotG footage, but the lack of a trailer at this stage is semi-understandable. If we look at the Phase 2 trailers so far, the trailer for the next film in the phase usually comes a week or so before the film it follows on from (e.g. our first trailer for The Winter Soldier came out a week or two before Thor: The Dark World). If this current pattern continues, then the earliest we could expect a GotG trailer is mid-March. Obviously I hope for us to get a trailer beforehand, but I doubt Marvel will do that and pull hype away from The Winter Soldier. It wouldn't make sense from a marketing point of view. And you are definitely right about the latest trailer for The Winter Soldier; it is absolutely amazing. I can't wait for it to come out at the end of March (thank you slightly early UK release date).

Thanks for the information. If he is indeed going to play a large role in the film and be a Guardian, I'm curious as to why he wasn't shown in the concept art from SDCC with the other Guardians. And if he isn't a Guardian, I wonder what his role (however large) will end up being.
