:-D :-D I wouldn't mind a Canadian flag, though...

Hm, lack of foresight is a bit harsh, but I understand your point of view. I like Technic, too, but because of the possibility to build machines or contraptions. Action figures... I dunno, they just "don't do it" for me, I don't see the appeal... but that's still the good thing about LEGO: lotsa possibilities ;-)

Hmm... mine are all disassambled, but from memory I think I have those (at least one of each): 442, 885, 886, 6824

That's ok ;-) As for the reward cards: it depends on which ones you get. If you get one from a store where you shop frequently it really is a reward - in the future, that's true, but it'll save you money. If it's from a store where you went once because there was a sale or something and you have to go there again just to spend more money to get the reward, then it's money thrown out the window. I understand what you mean with "mind tricks" :-) -
I don't think Space was about exploration. It was more like City, just in space with all the cool ships and stuff (there was Space Police, after all, and one subtheme was the bad guys AFAIK). I don't think anybody liked it because they thought of astro-cheologists. The themes you could associate with space exploration were Space Port and Life on Mars IMHO... Oh, and Divers doesn't suck. :-P

Nope. You made a funny comment with PVC in it and later explained what it means. So, for the moment that sticks. That's all. And I think it's funny ;-) -
OK, to set things straight: I like Classic Space. I grew up with it, have a few tiny sets, and always liked it. I would never categorize SW as a sub space theme because it's a friggin' license and not Space, period. SW is just a "modern fairy tale". I just continued arguing because I do see similarities in Divers and Space concerning playability: both can be played on a "flat surface that's not a table", but it's not that much fun then. Both make more fun when played 3-dimensionally. Submarines need to submerge, space planes need to fly. The only difference is that Space was a standalone theme while Divers was a subtheme. Space had time to evolve and had a lot more sets. Also, Divers lacked diversity in sets. The bigger sets all looked alike: some sort of exploration ship, mini-sub, divers, and a standard underwater world. That didn't show much phantasy or evolvement and most likely attracted only people who liked exactly that. Space on the other hand showed lots of diversity and became a corner stone of LEGO's success. Since I'm one of those people who like Divers exactly the way it was (I own 6560 and soon 6441 and 6559) I felt I had to defend it a bit ;-)

I don't see anything "space" in there, either, so we both agree that Space and Divers wouldn't be successful today? :-P

Received my custom arms from brickarms.com yesterday. 10 M1911s and 10 M4s for my police force. They look great *sweet*

I dare object... Firstly, why would a brit want a $15 voucher? SCNR ;-) Secondly and more seriously, I think you can't compare it that way because the first offer gives you three sets while the second gives you "only" two. Your answer is correct if you only consider the per set price but you neglect the amount spent overall. Example: Set price $20 1. Buy two, get one free = $40 spent 2. Buy one, get one 50 % off = $ 30 spent So, it depends on what you're looking for in the special. If you're out for a good per set price and don't mind having an extra set that you weren't looking for in the first place then 3 for 2 is a good offer for you. If you're out for saving money and not looking for that many sets the latter special suits you more. Just my €0.016 ($0.02), retail. PS: Yeah, I know, we all want sets, sets, sets, sets... kinda true, especially here in Austria where sales are pretty rare and I take any special ;-) -
ROFL Best ever description of LUGNET :-D I can't say anything about that because to me all anime look(s) alike and I wouldn't know about any storylines. The only anime I ever watched was Robotech, the "Mother of All Anime" (yes, I know, it's actually three different series combined into one). As for the rest, I couldn't care less, hence I don't know nothin' 'bout Exo-Force, and that's why I'll stop commenting about it ;-)

You did, Larry complained about this in his review. It could have been a "Monday model", though, as we say, meaning a "one time production error". But that doesn't matter to me cos the entire model is one big design flaw IMHO (battery box inside the passenger cabin???), not to mention the RC system... Update: 1000steine has a seperate forum to post questions for Jan Beyer who relays them to TLC and answers them. On July 28 he was asked if this gap between cockpit piece and wagon was a one-time production flaw or if it's meant to be like that. On July 31 came the disillusioning answer from the designers(!): it's "by design", the piece couldn't have been made otherwise... *wacko* Does anybody have the set and can confirm this? Not much solace when Jan says he doesn't like the gap and the answer, either...

Space sets look nice, but something's missing, I don't know what exactly... they even look kinda boring... it's basically a City line with a few astronauts, nothing really exceptional... :-P

Uh... what? I didn't understand a single word... :-P I was waiting for that set, too, and reading a positive review from one of the really skilled people here is just the reason I needed to buy it ;-) -
7779? Dunno, haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to visit TRU Stadlau today and have a look :-)

:-D :-D :-D I'm sorry... Hey, I wouldn't mind, either, if it came back ;-)

Probably nothing, as usual. But usually they have sales that end right before new sets come out. I was told (by e-mail) that the new Technic sets will arrive at the distribution center by end of July and then will be delivered to the stores the following week, i.e. this week. We'll see how long that sale lasts...

Exo-Force isn't a licence ;-) It isn't? Well, sure looks like one... Just checked, according to wikipedia it's "strongly based on the mecha anime genre". So, you could say it's a free license for all anime ;-) I apologize to all force-stuff-outside fans, of course :-P

Just found this on LUGNET: IR train base alternative I "know" Ondrew from buying a few of his track mods. His work is usually excellent. Maybe this is of interest to the more skilled modders here...
