I like the way he used the three minifigs in the gallery for his "story" (the decomissioning) and how one of the guys cries in the end ;-)

??? I dunno, you tell me. Again: I used the web form, which is a formal, impersonal, automatic e-mail generator, nothing else. Why should I? I didn't make a mistake. And I was polite.

Uh, where did I say I was impatient? I asked for parts A and B and received part C. What, and I'm supposed to understand that? I hope you don't mean it the way it "sounds"... I did that using the web form. Any other suggestions?

I recently bought a 8421 Technic Crane. Apart from the dog-eared instructions booklet, which seems to have become a standard nowadays, the set also came with this piece badly bent/deformed. Meaning, it wasn't straight but pretty strongly "curved". I managed to straighten it a bit (didn't try too hard cos I didn't want to break it) and it does work, but it's still not straight as it's supposed to be. And since it is quite an expensive set I wanted a replacement. So I used the web form on lego.com and asked for replacement of the dog-eared instruction booklet and the axle. Today I received this: I mean, yeah, I'm supposed to use my imagination, but even if I do and glue these three axles together I only get a 18L axle. I could use connectors, yes, but using extra parts is not the purpose of a replacement, is it?... Oh, imagination, I forgot... OK, it's nice that they send something even if they don't have what you ask for but in this case it's just useless and shows that they don't really think about what they send instead |-/ Oh, and I didn't receive the instructions. I had dog-eared instructions with 8436, too, and did get a replacement (anybody interested in the dog-eared ones? :-P ). But maybe they've sent them seperately this time...

Well, you know, just vote for me should there be re-elections some time ;-) Yes, it's ok. It was just kinda... different at first look, but you added a new bumper, too, which "evens it out" symmetry-wise. No need to change it *sweet*

It's just part of his site. Instruction scans for current sets aren't officially allowed, so this site is somewhat different. Brickfactory, for example, has many, but not the newest ones. I didn't want to "promote" this site as a revolutionary service ;-)

There is no part saying "SR stands for Superman Returns". Firstly, it's become sort of usual to refer to movie titles just by the first letters of each word in the title. That's what I meant with "it's an american thing". Secondly if there's a discussion about a movie title called "Superman Returns" and suddenly somebody uses the TLA (Two Letter Abbreviation in that casae) "SR" it's 100 % safe to assume they mean said movie title. Don't be so nit-picking all the time, it's annoying. EOS - End Of "Subdiscussion". Probably because you are the first on EB to have seen it :-P How was it?

... at Brickley's Words. You can search by either the 4-digit set number or the 7-digit LEGO code. Original post at LUGNET

Safe trip! ... you're not flying "Oceanic" Airlines, are you? ;-) ;-)

City is a timeless theme ;-) I like almost everything you've done. The back standing out that much over the rear wheels looks kinda strange at first, but there's probably not that an easy way to change it. But the slide compartment for the hoses is a neat idea! That "gadget board" where the outriggers are looks cool. The bigger cabin is needed, too, I agree. Great mod there, oo7 :'-)

Can't say much except: :-D

I just read that Zidane did receive the "Golden Ball Award" nonetheless. He received 2012 votes, followed by Fabio Cannavaro with 1977 votes, and Andrea Pirlo with 715 votes. Oh well...

Well, if you paid attention to the discussion it wouldn't be that ambiguous ;-) In general: yeah, they are annoying. It's an american thing, though, so what can you expect considering the way they "handle" their language...

Well, he gave you the first, which clearly wasn't one, so it's even. That was surprising... Still, they didn't score. Too bad. If you don't score (and I'm not talking penalty kicks cos I don't count those as "real goals") you don't deserve to win. Playing well "for the eye" doesn't help. See, you say it yourself ;-) Well, it's their right to. The rules don't forbid it (unfortunately). But if France can't keep them from doing by simply scoring one teeny weeny goal, well... Good thing it's over and we can all be normal people again... ;-) Which will be held in my country *sob*... this is gonna be sooo bad... *sob*

There is a thread already here ;-)

I think Italy deserved it cos "technically" they were the only ones scoring a goal "in play". Hadn't it been for the free kick France would've lost in regular time already (although, maybe trailing 1-0 they would've pressed a bit more, who knows). As for Zidane: nothing to say, except that he's an idiot. In your last career game, after having played a great tournament, you just stand above everything, you just don't care what anybody says or does. He was a hero already, championship or not. Boo *n* Anyhoo, finally four weeks of torture are over >:-)

HISTORIC ACCURACY or FANTASY in LEGO's history lines ???
Hobbes replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
For me it's pretty easy: Classic Castle: *y* Knigths Kingdom: *n* CC is the only theme I had sets of, KK never interested me. As for WW, there's really not much room for fantasy. Except if you don't have it, as I wrote about once in this post (small note at the end)... -
I have to agree with you again. I'll most likely get me a UCS Batmobile when I'm in the States for christmas. It looks nice and I don't mind another shelf model (I just bought two new shelfs after all). But that'll be about it for Batman for me.

I don't see anything more to be released, either...

Thanks for voting everybody! :'-) Well, seems like we have a tie: 381 and 6598 share first place with 4 votes each. Before I go on to the next poll I'd like to see a "winner", though. So, please, everybody who hasn't voted yet, join in :-) For those who haven't seen the poll yet, the thumbnails I linked from LUGNET sometimes don't work, but the links do. Vote on! X-D

Yeah well, talking bout football tends to do that to me... ;-) But not that many... Still too much for what they show... I played right defense, too, as a kid. And I also played baseball, but just on an amateur level. Because pitchers aren't that good at that level (if there are any player worth calling a pitcher) games tend to drag. 4+ hours isn't rare, and that's pretty exhausting - if you take it seriously, cos concentrating all the time is as exhausting as running. I don't say football isn't exhausting, but compared to other sports football players have a very "relaxing" job, and you won't find that many actors anywhere else... I'm done... for now... ;-)

To be honest? A lot. Just look at Bonds and Sosa. But frankly, I don't care. Everybody takes it, so it equals itself out...

Oh please... :-| I agree with you mostly, but I'm tired of hearing "players are tired", and "they had extra time..." (yeah, 5 days ago). They're professionals, they get paid (a LOT) to run around! Baseballplayers play 162(!) games a season, without three rounds of playoffs, they play every day, the games last between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 hours average, and sometimes they travel from the east coast to the west coast and play the next day - and no one complains. Hockeyplayers in the NHL have 82 games a season, without best-of-seven playoffs. And some then play in the world championships where they don't have 3-5 days off between games. This World Cup has shown us (at least me) at lot of crybabies and wimps. I'd go hide in shame had I put off a show like some very famous, very high paid players have. Poooooor football players, soooooo tired because they played 90 minutes of push-a-ball a week ago... *woohoohoo* One word: L A M E. /rant

gus didn't seem to notice ;-) It's pretty good, just too obvious a fake (the set number, the background). And "official" LEGO designers would definitely use stickers for the Allied Airforces logo. Why would they think of using plates? That'd be using a LEGO part in an "unconventional way"... or would it... |-/

They're at about the same price level, 2150 is just rarer seen...
