Excellent "choice", hinckley :-) For me, I can't really choose a set or two right away, but the entire town and train lines from the 80s are on top of my list. I'll try to make up my mind about specific sets ;-) Edit: OK, I made up my mind. I could list 50 sets but I chose these two since they're the ones I've been looking for most (and longest and most unsuccessful):

It wouldn't be stealing, would it?

This could help ;-) -
While I agree that City sets are almost too big now, in the case of the dump truck it's okay because it's supposed to be one like this, and those are big :-) Nevertheless the model is crap...

Yeah... for me those sets from the mid-to-late-90s are non-existent ;-)

No roof? You don't mean that one, do you?

Happy birthday! Hope you get lots of playmob... no, wait, that's... happy birthday X-D

I've seen your "Cthulego Rises" some time ago. Excellent MOC(s)! Like that? ;-) I have to admit I LMAO when I saw how you used the Prickley Bush :-D

If you put two or more bricks/plates together without modifying them (i.e. cutting, glueing and the like) and that construct isn't too fragile it can't be illegal. If they fit together, they fit together. Period. IMHO...

Well, those two were old sets. If the new sets look anything like the firetruck, the ambulance, or the Heavy Loader I don't think they created City and all the sets in the past two years to create something different now. So I think it'll definitely fit the City theme.

From what you describe those are the packs the My Own Train consist of: * One pack with pieces for the main "body" (Small Engine, Large Engine) * One pack for the tender * One color pack (Blue, Green, Black, Brown, Dark Gray) That way you can buy one engine (one pack of each of the above), and with a color pack you can change the color (for the small or the large engine, and the tender). I bought a small black engine with tender once (15 Euro on ebay) and then found a brown color pack in a German LEGO Shop and paid 10 Euro for it. That was about 2 years ago. S@H price for a small engine without tender is GPB 12.50, with tender GBP 18.75. So I'd say 5-7 Euro is a good deal for one bag, 10 Euro is ok (although not really "clearance" IMO), anything more is too expensive. PS: Just noticed your title :-D *y*

Well, new track are available online at S@H and I've seen them at a local TRU. So they're definitely out there. Maybe your store just hasn't gotten them yet or not put on the shelfs yet. I guess that's the mother of all questions. But TLC definitely sells that train as a "play train". Meaning, they don't expect them to be bought by people with complicated layouts (i.e. tunnels). For an oval track with just a few buildings (if at all) it's ok. Playmobil's train uses the same R/C (coincidence?) and it sells quite well from what I read/hear. As for waiting or not: well, depends on what you want to do? If you want to build a layout (i.e. permanent setup with a town and a train going around/through it) and if you're thinking of expanding, get them cheap 9V tracks as long as they're available (what do you mean by "cheap" anyway?) and see if you can find some motors. Even if production will be stopped that stuff will be available at ebay or BL for a long time (just look at all the 12V stuff that's still available). So, expanding will be possible for a long time, maybe sometimes a bit more expensive than now, but possible. If you just want to have a train going around your christmas tree in a circle buy the new stuff (and get pissed off at the poor quality and risk that your kids never talk to you anymore ;-)). We recently heard about a designer-style train set for next year. That is definitely aimed at AFOL. And I've read on 1000steine that someone bought switches the other day that came in blay, so they're still producing. So there is hope 9V will continue for some time...

Welcome moogly! What are your favorite themes? Got any pictures of your collection? Anyways, enjoy your stay here :-)

I agree with Alex, it's interesting to see an (almost) complete new layout. It doesn't look all too bad. It is a good start for more, indeed. But a LEGO town/city does need some older sets, too, you just can't do without ;-)

Multi Troop Transport. That thing the mini version already exists of...

I do! *sing* :-P ;-)

Jake's reefers? With the 7750 pulling them a great train. Those black doors are some rare pieces. Nice train, nice layout. Can I have it? ;-)
