  1. I don't think so, I'm afraid. Germans are very aware of what these sets are worth, and they try. He might not sell it now, but maybe one day someone drunk/high enough will come along...
  2. I dare say they'll definitely work. Non-rechargeables don't give you much more than 1.2V, either, 1.5V is the nominal voltage. And most electrical devices (not just LEGO) can work with that since the average progress of stress is around 1.2V (+/- 0.3V). If you want to use rechargeables, use NiMH. They last longer, have more energy density and thus are available in capacities of up to 2700 mAh for AAs which is close to or more than a standard 1.5V AA (2200 to 2850 mAh). They also come without heavy metals (like Cadmium). Just make sure you use a charger that recognizes them and turns off after they're fully loaded. You can damage them by overloading.
  3. I think the first post in this thread has the best translation: "Containers". I don't speak either Portuguese nor Spanish but Contentores/Contenedores/Containers doesn't sound too wrong to me ;-) And it would make sense, too, as it could be an additional set for the cargo port.
  4. Welcome to EB! Why not put this in your profile? There's a field for that, easier to find for everybody ;-)
  5. Want a MISB 6081? Or a MISB 6086 maybe? BIN only, that's your chance! *wacko*
  6. I read that, too, yesterday, and it seems it came as... ... a total surprise to TLC that we'd have "another" christmas this year :-| Wasn't last year's supposed to be the last? WHAM says so every year... And if you follow certain online communities there's been supply shortage all year long. Around christmas more people will notice, though...
  7. How about this grrrrrrrrrrrrreat review by Alex :-)
  8. Great review, thanks Alex! What I like most are the small stickers on the side of the waggons. They look very realistic (for European waggons, that is). I agree with sne on the many different waggon types. A train with a few waggons of the same type wouldn't look all too bad and different colors could add variety. But the closed waggon looks simple enough to MOC. If the set weren't that expensive I'd almost consider it...
  9. Guys, not here! Welcome to EB, Cyan. Enjoy your time here :-)
  10. The last 30 years, not 300...
  11. I'm not a "car freak" but I agree. Out of that list a few cars would be interesting - but not from the last 30 years. That "era" wasn't exactly known for a good choice of car design IMHO. But maybe TLC manages to surprise me with a good model...
  12. Good question... typo I guess... then again, I won the auction, made an "appointment" to pick it up, so I kinda had to go there ;-)
  13. Gotta pick up a boxed Breezeway Cafe this evening :-)
  14. This :-)
  15. EXCUSE ME?!?!? You're walking on thin ice here, my friend! >:-)
  16. I don't keep anything MISB unless I consider it reeeeeeally special and have more than one copy (that hasn't happened so far, though). "Current" sets that I don't consider "special" or worth keeping I open, even if I have more than one (I have multiple Creator/Designer I modify or try to MOC with). I keep at least one box of a set, multiple boxes I throw away. Same with instructions (if I'm in a good mood I might sell those, but they're not that many). I keep the display sets (Technic, Model Team, Creator/Designer) assembled on shelfs (main model, haven't found that good an alternate model I'd buy a second copy for), all other sets are built and maybe modified here or there and integrated in my layout. I buy to build or display, not to keep and resell. If I really like a box art or something I might think about displaying the box, but the model I build. So, this airport will be opened and built :-) PS: Only exception is 7264 which I have 2 (unopened) copies of. I haven't decided yet what I'm gonna do with them, but I was told this set is special. So maybe I can finance other sets by selling them one day which wouldn't hurt, either, since I don't collect SW. We'll see...
  17. That's what happens when an ebay auction ends at around 10am on a holiday and only newbies bid on it: MISB 6396 for
  18. That's a great idea. With the current car size, however, I think a regular size "parking lot plate" wouldn't fit that many cars. Nice idea, though :-)
  19. Give us time... (Some) people have other stuff to do in their lives, eventually they will reply. Complaining's not too good, that could result in not getting feedback at all anymore... So, a little patience, please :-)
  20. Why, why, why is everybody changing their websites... and evertime it's for the worse... :-| >:-(
  21. I was thinking of modular houses, city houses and "town homes". Those could be based on the houses in the "Main Street" set: One "base set" with a small baseplate, the house, and seperable roof. Then an "additional floor set", a house that consists only of one floor without a roof. You can take off the roof of the base set, put the floor set on top of it and close the house again with the roof. So you can stack your house as high as you want. That "system" in different colors, maybe two or three different styles so it's not too boring, and you can mix and match your city. With seperately available sticker sheets (supermarket, coffee shop, grocery, bank, etc.) one could turn those houses into "commercial facilities". The same "system" could be used for town homes (small houses like 4886). As for "other stuff": * oil rig * a more decent hospital (we got a second firestation, why not a real hospital?) * female minifigs * a new train station ;-) * a baseball stadium and teams (US market - hello?! That'd be a decent sports set) * more rolling stock for trains (the waggons of 7898 would be perfect) * Zoo (Duplo anyone?!) * Farm (Duplo anyone?!) * Marina with a sailboat, not just motor boats * most of what Calvin said ;-)
  22. Superstructure Instructions If you're looking for more recent instructions, check here: Brickley's Words - LEGO Instructions And now get a chain link fence for your city ;-)
  23. As you wish :-)
  24. Yeah, they do that with most of their latest models. Problem: one more possibility for dog-ears... :-/ I know why I like reviews, there's so much more to see. Thanks for the pics, yoda! I sometimes love these small, relatively short builds with just enough "gadgets" for me. I had fun with the mini tractor, too. More advanced Technic builders will probably laugh at sets like this but to me it's perfect if I just want to build something quick and don't have the "muse" for a MOC (let alone my absent skills) :-) You know what? I will :-P
