  1. Thanks, oo7 ;-) And also thanks for those nice examples *sweet*
  2. Ugh... :-| Exactly what I said: I just told him how it would be possible to integrate the house into the "Pirates" theme...
  3. Looks like some sort of lift arm/contraption for the dinghy...
  4. How is it? I've been pondering for a while to get it, haven't bought it yet, though...
  5. I was explaining to Phes how to make this house "imperial", as in "integrate into Pirates"...
  6. Welcome to EB, Calvin! I've already seen your City threads and pics, always good to see another Town/Train fan join us :-)
  7. Get rid of the garage and fences, use a harbor base plate (those gray ones also used for city harbors and train stations), and you have a tavern. Far fetched? Maybe, but not impossible... and with "Use your imagination"... you know... ;-)
  8. No, unfortunately I don't. But you said "late 2006 sets", so I was wondering. And LEGO won't tell you anything about sets not yet released. But you can write them anyways ;-)
  9. Sne never said AR looks like DS, he just said AR reminds him of DS. And frankly, me too. You're (probably) right in with your list, but still, AR and DS do have minor things in common, and that's enough to remind someone of the one by looking at the other. Space 2007... maybe... >:-)
  10. That's certainly an unusual introduction, I'm interested in hearing your opinions in the future. And as long as you stick to a common netiquette there shouldn't be any flaming here, we're too nice a bunch of people ;-) Welcome to EB and enjoy your stay :-)
  11. Because the shipwreck uses basic bricks and it looks like something that's been lying under water for a couple of centuries. I know, Pirates/H&A fans were hoping for a better wreck, but honestly, we knew from the beginning that the set would cost €30, so this provides quite a lot for that price. And the sub looks cool. Savvy? ;-)
  12. Athos provided a link here...
  13. I see some sort of handle on the bottom, so I guess it'll open "upwards-out-front". I second my idea myself (;-)) since the car and its alternate models use hinges more than cars of the past. So the house could use one there, too... Of course, this is just an educated guess ;-)
  14. Thanks yoda, you made my day :-) Judging by the new pick-up truck pic I'd say that we indeed will see a new windshield piece. It looks like the new one's not as "steep" as the one in 7236, for example. The two studs are on the "back end" of the piece: vs.
  15. Cool, thx for the pics, sam! 8270 and 8271 look like they could be as a fun build as the Mini Tractor was this year. And that snow mobile looks like a good mid-size set. All of them could be some "time fillers" and shelf models for me :-)
  16. As with City and Aqua Riders, Amazon.de has the new box arts for Creator, too: Enjoy :-)
  17. Actually, no one really knows what color they were. All those nice animations we see on TV today are just educated guesses based on their skin. For all we know they could have been pink with bright green spots. The red in this set should probably hint some brown-ish color. But I agree, it's a great set. And again, better in real life than on the pics :-)
  18. What do you mean by "how big"? I think the product pictures show it quite well, and there's lots of pics on brickshelf that show the sets in comparison to each other or other sets...
  19. Honestly, if the parents can't raise their child properly it's their problem. And if their child has access to something like that, they have a problem. Period. There, you said it. A probable complaint is easily dismissable. That TLC issues a statement is right. That they treat it like a crime is a bit... excessive...
  20. Well, you can be helped, of course: Just click this icon and fill in the link to the picture. You need an uploaded picture somewhere (brickshelf comes to mind). Or simply add the picture with "Add This Attachment" (try to resize them before, though). So, no excuses anymore ;-)
  21. From 7239 Fire truck: Car base From 7236 Police Car: Car base 7890 Ambulance uses a regular 4x10 plate as base. You've seen the mud guards already. So, I guess we won't know for sure until someone has the new sets ;-) hth
  22. I think TLC's (IMHO excessive) reaction has to do with what happened after the "comic incident" last fall and they want to make their standpoint clear. Too bad it has come to this. Radical muslims use this kind of stuff to "justify" their torrents of hatred against the western world. Just imagine the US would bomb any country that makes jokes about them... This isn't the first fake set on the internet, and I want to be able to laugh about stuff like that without being called an anti-semite or racist. Except for that "6 year old" remark which makes this "set" look... un-PC, I find it quite funny. When did we ever get a 24 minifig pack, let alone with 23 females? Lighten up, people, "both sides"...
  23. There are track pieces included (12 curves, 3 straights) plus some sort of game chips, and 4 racers. German description
  24. Sorry for my late reply - welcome to EB :-) I like your layout a lot. Just one question: what did you use as track ballast? Looks like some sort of pebbles? I've thought about some track ballast for my own layout, too, just haven't found anything to my liking (and easy to use) yet.
  25. :-D That's a good point, though. I haven't tried ;-) When you set up a multi-track and multi-train layout you need to add regulators at different points anyways otherwise your trains would stop running when you switch track. Beeeecause: a switch (or point, whatever the correct term is) acts as a "separator", meaning that power runs only through "one side" of the track. So if you want your trains to run everywhere smoothly you need more regulators on different points. I only run one train at the moment and haven't even tried thinking of figuring out how to "handle" different directions and the like on a layout like that...
