Ah, that's your gallery, I've seen it before :-) I like how you integrated the monorail. I've been thinking about a similar approach for my regular train track. So far it's only in my head, though, and I don't know if I ever will try to actually build it. Even in my head it's way to complicated (for me) ;-) Great layout *y*

474, nice... *wacko*

Actually no. Eight curves make exactly half a circle. So with 16 curves and 2 straights you have an oval track layout (half circle + one straight on each side + second half circle). Many starter sets start out with that...

That's about 151 Euros, quite steep. Somehow this set is popular now. There are still a few around, usually around 60 USD. I want a few of them (I missed the 50 % sale on S@H this spring >:-( ) and naively enough I'm still hoping for a deal. Guess I'll be hoping for quite some time...

Oh, yeah, of course, guess my age slowed me down on that one ;-) Well, that has always been the problem with tracks: curves are necessary, but only to a certain extent. A train looks best on straights, and for a decent layout with a station, cargo yard and the like you need lots of straights. Hence they usually run out fast and are expensive at ebay or bricklink. With the new non-9V-track TLC decided to sell them both in one box, so you get 8 straights and 8 tracks. Good for TLC, bad for trainheads who will end up with way too many curves :-(

That is really great, I love it *wub* I always forget that you don't need massive space to set up something nice and "classic". Great work *y*

:-D :-D :-D Welcome to EB, that was a nice entrance! Hope you'll stay around beyond christmas and happy holidays to you, too :-)

The latter. I see this happening a lot with newbies. They don't set themselves a limit, they bid, see that it's not enough, and then a short bidding frenzy starts: "I wanna have it! I wanna have it!" And they don't realize their stupidity before 5 or so tries...
-
Wonder how high this will go: 6391 MISB I like this set and considered bidding, but then it went from 77 Euro to 201 over night. And again it was some ebay newbie who raised the price because he couldn't wait and had to bid 5 days before it ends >:-( Not that it would change much but I've seen newbies help raise the price all too often...

Found this on brickshelf.. New creator set
Hobbes replied to 5150 Lego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Whoa, I already liked the Truck from the preliminary pictures (6wide is a good truck size for City), but the main model doesn't look too shabby, either. I like the door designs on both. Good to see the designers are thinking about that again. I hated the doorless cars of late. Nice find *y* -
Our member phoinix found new Starwars, City and Creator sets on S@H North America! Among them Join the discussion here :-)

I don't think I know what you mean... *wacko*

Huh, you're right, I haven't noticed. That is cool :-) That one I noticed, but I'm not sure if it's new. I think I've seen it somewhere else... could be mistaken, though... With the off-road truck it's decals. bdd mentioned them in his review. The station's truck uses some of them but I'm not quite sure about the plate right behind the driver's cabin (snefroe1 mentioned it already).

I just found these on S@H US (pic = link): 9V Train Track Starter Collection 9V Train Switching Track Collection Could this be a first result of AFOL asking for the continuation of the 9V line? Or it's a taste of the Multi-Train set... I find the inclusion of 6 magnets interesting. Kinda useless without the puffers/holders. But we don't want to complain when we see new 9V stuff, do we? ;-)

Yay, can't wait for my christmas holiday :'-)

Jesus... *wacko* My brother owns 6073, the blacksmith shop and the cart (plus a few more small sets). I remember us playing with those. They do bring back memories, and having them again MISB would be nice, of course (for which set wouldn't it be), but this is just ridiculous...

A worthy auction for this thread *wacko* Alright, I pinned this thread and renamed it. Those who already posted in here know what it's about. For those who don't: We want to follow "crazy" or "rare" ebay LEGO auctions and see how they end. And by crazy we mean crazy pricewise. Read this thread and you know what we mean. Please don't post auctions that probably end 50 cents over retail price, that wouldn't be crazy (just stupid). If this turns into a spamfest the posts will be deleted without comment. So, lets enjoy ebay's madness :-)

That one? Or that one? -
I just noticed, that is very boring :-( The construction subtheme is great and easy to add on with minisets like this :-) The numbers on the windows mark the day/date. "1" for December 1st, "2" for December 2nd, and so forth. They're numbered randomly, like a classic advent calendar. Problem is, yesterday they showed two additional sets for the construction worker. They labeled them "2" and "3". Unfortunately that's not just "addition 2" and "addition 3", it's the days, too. So yesterday you already knew what was in it today and what will be in it tomorrow :'-(

60s... or is it 06...

The blue tracks go into the 70s, that's true. But the pictures from Brickster and idea book 241 are from the 60s.

Should Aqua Raiders have a separate forum?
Hobbes replied to dillthepill's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
OK, I thought I had short term memory loss ;-) Yep I'm the tiger ;-) -
Great idea, Alex! I've thought about something like that, too, but I'll leave this thread to you now ;-) Nah, I think they won't have it spread over consecutive days. That would spoil it as you said. But I like these "combined" mini sets :-)
