Thats really cool Kristel, i love your technique. You are def one of my favorite builders on this site. Your explanation definitely makes sense but i would love to see the details more closely so i just bought the instructions from bricklink :)
-
Hey Kristal, how did you get the stairs to extend a bit over the standard peg offset at the beginning I can see the whole front of the first floor is extended back a bit. You can see how the walls overlap the wooden floor wheich is how i noticed. Would you mind sharing some insight into that? How did you get everything to line up? The spacing is really awesome but i can seam to figure it out myself.

this is awesome. any hope for a LDD file for this?

Anyone know when to expect the next wave of city sumer sets in store?
-
Thanks everyone! Looking forward to showing u all more pics once the needed bricks arrive.
-
I would love a re-release of this set
-
What about buying it for $100 and then putting it on ebay for $80? It would allow some other peeps to get a great deal on a b-wing plus the bids will def rise past $100 so you cant lose. I was thinking of doing that not to profit but to spread the love. I want one for myself tho and i think its one per customer so im gonna have my girlfriend buy the second one and ill just pay her back lolol Just a thought

Hey all, so I tried to make a thread about this a few days ago but it got merged into a thread that highlights every appearance of lego in every media outlet they can find, even if its just the logo in the background for 3 secs, and it kinda killed my post. I didnt want that kind of information and i dont want to loose this small list in a huge thread of unrelated information, if at all avoidable What I was originally trying to do was to build a small index of sorts regarding TV shows that feature legos AS THE MAIN TOPIC such as lego specials/programming so we can all find new and interesting things to watch surrounding the topic of lego. I thought I would start by listing some programs that I am aware of. PS- This is not intended for any clone wars or ninjago indexing since we are all aware of their existence. This is also not intended to be merged with another thread highlighting appearances because this list is specific to full length productions about lego, not just glimpses. It is intended to highlight the stuff that everyone might not be aware of that features lego and information about lego at a significant extent. Below i have a few shows i found... the shortest of the lot is the official lego story which is around 20 mins if i remember correctly. I would imagine there us more out there... lets start adding to the list! :) PS. Thank you MODS (in advance) for supporting this topic. 1. Ultimate Factories - Lego (aired on NatGeo) 2. James May's Toy Stories - Lego House (Aired on BBC2) Episode 5 3. (Aired on LEGOclubTV)4. (Adult Fans of LEGO Documentary)Any one know of any others?

Thanks guys! The comments about the kitchen are making me laugh not in a pretentious way but it reminds me of my studio apartment in soho (NYC) You could fit a minifig in there but only if its sideways and thats exactly how i felt about my old place lol. You would be surprised how studio kitchens in nyc are configured. My drawers would always bang into other drawers etc. so i guess thats where that came from BUT after reading your comment I am thinking of ways to make the kitchen bigger.... I think i might be able to make it work if i used some inverted slope pillars to give the floor some more space without making the building look unbalanced. Keep em coming! :)

Here's the 3rd floor (first floor of the upstairs apartment. I like to think of it as a luxury studio apartment because it is very cramped but has all the amenities of a lux studio.) Includes small kitchen balcony and living/sitting room. Here is the small kitchen complete with oven and flu, dish washer, shelves, drawers, cabinets, and sink. Lots to fit in such a small space Heres a shot of the flat screen tucked underneath the staircase to the bedroom floor. More coming...

Hello eurobricks. I am new to the site and have only came out of my dark ages a few months ago. In that time i have fallen in love with the modular buildings. Grand Emporium was my first purchase and since I bought it Ive been hooked. Its also thanks to the amazing creativity shown by all of you on this site showcasing your mocs and being kind enough to answer questions and share building technique that has helped usher me into the world of LEGO once more. Over a decade ago when I was a lego kid you couldn't do anywhere near then what you can do with lego today. So many new elements and color hues have been introduced since and Its made it make more sense from a construction perspective, opening the world of lego to be able to accurate recreate real world settings and environments That major change from TLG has really connected with me. (I also have a love for the Star Was UCS sets but for the most part its CITY for me) - PS Really looking forward to saturday ;) Anyway, With all the awesome MOCs on this site it was just a matter of time before i started attempting some of my own. Currently i am working on a mod of the Money and Bank Transfer set that was exclusive to Target last year. It reminds me of my local Chase Bank branch and i thought it could look very fitting placed along side the other official modulars if it just had some enhancement. So i started to give it a shot. Its still being modified, changed, and constructed but i thought id upload what i have so far and maybe you comments will help me finish it. :) Thank god for bricklink! lol Here are some pictures.... (keep in mind this is my first time trying to photograph lego and im using my iphone so some of the pictures might feel a bit constrained. Apologies in advance) Here is the main shot. I tried to in step with the original set's color scheme. Back (Rear entrance along with security service elevator for gold shipments to the upstairs vault) Side (Note the high door - i will be attaching another module that includes a tunnel to reach the back for secure armored deliveries and a separate staircase for the above tenant.) Heres a birds eye view of the layout of each floor. The top two floors still need some work. Here is the interior of the first floor complete with teller, waiting chairs, deposit drafting table, and personal banking terminal. (personal banking terminal) Second floor complete with personal wealth management teller and vault More pictures of the upper two floors on the way. Comments and criticism welcome :)

This is by far a great MOD but I couldnt really see how the overall layout was configured in the pictures so it makes me wonder how you have laid out the theaters. Are there multipul theaters in the cinema? Is there one main grand theater with a few other small ones? It makes me think that with the addition of some more bricklink pieces you could have a stylish multiplex theater with multipul theater rooms.

A tutorial on how to make it work in a clean way would be amazing. I would love to do this to my town set up but I dont want a bunch of exposed wires all over the place. Any guidance would be great.

LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances
rubberninja replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was trying to make a list of programing that is directly about lego. Not an index of appearances of lego in programming that isnt specifically about lego and somehow my post got moved here. -
LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances
rubberninja replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hey guys so i figured it would be convenient to build a small index of sorts regarding TV shows that feature legos and lego specials/programming so we can all find new and interesting things to watch surrounding the topic of lego. I thought i would start by listing some shows that I am aware of. PS- This is not intended for any clone wars or ninjago indexing since we are all aware of their existence. This is more intended for the stuff that everyone might not be aware of. 1. Ultimate Factories - Lego (aired on NatGeo) http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/ultimate-factories/galleries/photo-gallery-lego/at/such-a-blockhead-18883/ 2. James May's Toy Stories - Lego House (Aired on BBC2) Episode 5 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_May's_Toy_Stories#James_May.27s_Lego_House_.28Episode_5.29 3. The LEGO Story (Aired on LEGOclubTV) 4. AFOL A Blockumentary (Adult Fans of LEGO Documentary) Any one know of any others? -
these are really creative! Ever made any in minfig scale?

really cool use of parts! I am always so astounded by how people utilize lego to create certain sci-fi shapes and structures that are so awesome.

MOC Modular Building - LBGS (Lego Bank of the Golden Scorpion)
rubberninja replied to niteangel's topic in LEGO Town
This is great! Whats funny is I have been putting something together lately that has the exact same concept except looks completely different I have an elevator to the top floor of the bank with the vault being attended by someone at a desk and everything but as i said, it looks nothing like yours. Its pretty cool how we have the same concept yet the end result is completely different. I will try to take some pictures of it later and post it in another thread (dont want to encroach on this thread) so you can see what i mean. I must say I like yours better than my own though. The design of the elevator car is really cool and the color scheme is great! Looks wonderful next to the town hall.- 31 replies

New Lego stores opening in 2013
rubberninja replied to rubberninja's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There are some others that are not on this list that are scheduled for opening. A location in CT for example.... Obviously openings are subject to ton of outside factors aside form when TLG says they will be open but if anyone knows anything let us know! :) -
Unofficial LEGO Sets/Parts Collectors Guide 1949-90s
rubberninja replied to LEGO Historian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This should be made into a documentary film. It would be in a class of its own and most likely never be beat if it had as much detail as the book. Something to consider no? Im sure all of us in the Lego community esp AFOLs would support it. I certainly would.
